First... businesses should seriously stop putting people in a position where they feel pressured to write a review right then and there. It's uncomfortable and disingenuous. Second: Oof. This was pretty bad. My first experience seeking out a personal trainer and I sure did learn a lot. I'll begin with the fact that during the consultation with Robert, I let him know that I needed time to think about signing up because I wasn't sure it was financially feasible for me right now ($900 deposit + $82 weekly payments). He insisted on "helping" me by saying I could just pay half the deposit now and half at a later date (he stepped out of the office room so i could check my calendar for a payday that would work for paying the other half -- how kind). A big selling point for me was that, while nutrition was acknowledged as important, I was told it would not be strict or pushed on me. I was very upfront about my history of disordered eating and was assured that their staff are educated and mindful of this. I was then asked if I preferred a male or female trainer. As an AFAB person, I almost always default to female staff. He paired me with their trainer Bre. Fabulous. I tell him I will start next week and he puts me down for Tuesday per my request. My first session on Tuesday was my last session at Moses Fitness. I arrived and met with Bre, my trainer, who informed me that we would do a quick intake conversation before getting started. Sounds fine enough. We go into her office where I find out she knows absolutely nothing about me. Robert did not give her my information and she was entirely unprepared in terms of knowledge about me as her new client. Annoying but mostly whatever. We go over my goals (weight loss but nothing crazy -- just wanna get to a healthier weight before it becomes an issue). I inform her of my eating disorder history and she tells me she understands and will be mindful of this... and then she asks me if I'm able and willing to weigh my food. "...No. Given my history." "Totally! I respect that. There's no pressure to do that extra step, though if you decided to do it I would be a very happy trainer." I mean... come tf on. I also inform her of my sleep disorder (idiopathic hypersomnia), and she kindly asks about what it is and what I need in terms of accommodations. I let her know that frequent breaks are helpful given the quick onset of fatigue i experience and she lets me know that's totally fine. Awesome! Now we're getting started with the exercise portion of the session. It starts out okay! After a very quick shoulder stretch, I was a little nervous because she handed me two 10lb weights to start but figured she knows what she's doing. Without giving a play-by-play of the nearly 2hr hellscape, we continue onto the next thing she's got planned -- this is where everything went way downhill. I was able to do a single set of 10 mostly okay. It was challenging but it felt good! ... and then she said 2 more. I was aggressively shaking and experiencing a lack of strength I've never felt before. She's pushing me to push through it but I'm taking breaks because of how wiped i was already feeling. This continues through every workout we do. I let her know on *3* separate occasions that I was light headed and dizzy. She told me to take a breather. Then back to it. Finally, we're finish the first of 3 whole-body sets and I tell her I need her to show me where I can safely vomit. *Now* she's listening. She takes me to the restroom that thankfully smelled strongly enough of chemicals that the extreme nausea dropped to mild nausea and throwing up was averted. I came out of the bathroom and the first thing she says after asking if I'm okay is: "Please come back." The next morning, I upload a picture of a muffin to the Moses app for my trainer to see and I almost immediately receive a comment from Bre that I should avoid muffins moving forward and have a bagel with cottage cheese instead. So now I'm experiencing food guilt barely two days into the program. (added a picture with the remainder of my review because of character count)

I saw there advertisements on social media and looked at everyone's else in the immediate area. The front office staff is amazing. Their level of care to your health and wellness is unmatched. They made me feel as if I was the only one in the gym. The one on one coaching I am receiving from Jorge is something that I never experienced at other gyms. He tailored a work out program for me and my wife that we could use offsite. He is very knowable experienced humble and very easy to be around. I am happy so far with my results. If you're looking for a vip level of service to the next level try them and experience their money back guarantee. I had so many injuries they made sure I was in optimal form before I started work outs. The meal plan and the measuring of body fat made me work on me the correct way. I love the interactive app

Do you have to join a challenge/program, or is it okay to just work out solo, open gym style?

We’re more of a programming and results gym so our services are more tailored to that. Every program does come with open gym access! Feel free to reach out to me (818) 261-4349

Do you charge by the month, if so what is the rate? Is your gym 24 hours?

Hi! Everything we do is custom, so it’s different depending on your goals priorities and preferences. Typically we do a consultation to see if it’s a good fit. Our gym is open 24/7 once you do have a program with us

On average how much does the 3 week challenge cost?

Hi! They range quite a bit, typically we do a consultation to see if it's a good fit.

Is the gym opened or closed DM me someone please?

Sorry! Just seeing this. Yes we are open!

Do you have to pay for the 5 week challenge what's the cost?

Hi! We no longer provide the 5 week challenge, but we do have similar programs. They range $75-$600.

Would this gym be good for brand new weight lifting students?

Yup! All of our programs are fantastic for new lifters.

We are looking for a great facility that is convenient in the valley but also had a good community - without being a corporate behemoth. What a great find this place turned out to be. The owner, Leo Frinco, is an award-winning athlete who really practices what he preaches. The staff is wonderful and I see the individual trainers taking time to work with their clients in a thoughtful way - vs barking commands at them. Since joining the place has already expanded twice - a nice new area was added with state-of-the-art equipment and additional stretching areas. They also added a new space where they teach dance classes, have guest speakers and hold events. Results is impeccable - you will always see Leo walking around with a spray bottle taking care of details which causes his clients, like us, to do the same. It's also great to have a gym that you can access with your own key fob - so you can come and go as you like. It's perfect gym if you live anywhere in the valley or over the hill in Bel Air like we do since it's right on Ventura near Coldwater. Great markets and lunch spots within walking distance as well.

5 stars - my go-to Equinox location…read more Equinox Studio City is my home gym and I'm here pretty much every day. I've been to Hollywood, DTLA, West Hollywood, Glendale, Santa Monica, and Studio City is still my favorite overall. Biggest thing is cleanliness. For how busy this place gets, it's always maintained. Towels are always stocked, locker rooms are constantly being cleaned, and I've never walked into a shower that was out of products. There's always staff in there keeping everything in check. Another huge win is Erewhon Studio City right next door. You finish your workout and immediately have a solid post-workout meal ready. Nothing beats that. There's no Earth Bar here, but honestly you don't even need it because Erewhon is better. You do have to time your workouts though. Early mornings before 8am are the best, weekends early are even better and usually empty. After 9-10am it starts getting packed, and evenings around 5-7pm are honestly tough if you're trying to get a smooth workout in. People complain about parking because the plaza gets busy, but I've never had an issue. I go early, get a great spot, and I'm out before it gets crazy. One issue I've raised multiple times is people bringing oils into the steam room. When they pour it in, the whole place smells, it sticks to your body and hair, and I've had allergic reactions from it. It happens less now, but when it does it completely ruins the steam room. Feels like something that could be controlled better. The vibe here is more low-key, which I like. People mind their business and just work out. Compared to Hollywood, which can feel more social and sometimes uncomfortable, Studio City feels way more normal and focused. Front desk and trainers are hit or miss. Some are great, some don't even acknowledge you. Trainers here mostly keep to themselves unless you hire them, while other locations feel more welcoming. Not a dealbreaker, just noticeable. Music is at a good level too--it doesn't interfere with your headphones, which I appreciate. At the end of the day, I'm here daily for a reason. If you figure out the timing, this is one of the best Equinox locations in LA.

The spa is coed and unfortunately the members of this gym for some weird reason don't know how to use the sauna. People are going into the sauna with their dirty gym clothes and dirty outdoor shoes and actually exercise in there with their phones and music. It's disgusting and dirty in the sauna. A sauna is supposed to be relaxing, quiet and clean, and the correct way to use the sauna is to shower beforehand, put on a swimsuit and shower sandals, bring a sauna towel and sit on that towel not the wood, and most importantly don't bring electronics and loud music or conversation. Also, too many men in there and as a woman I don't feel safe sitting there in a bathing suit. Not to mention people going into the STEAM ROOM WITH GUM CLOTHES AND SHOES. That's basically like showering with gum clothes and shoes and it's absolutely disgusting and unclean. It seems in general members are not the brightest in there because no one puts their weights where they belong or wipe down the machines after using them which makes this gym super unhygienic and annoying because nothing is where it belongs. Members get angry when you're on a machine they want to use and literally breathe down your back. I don't like this gym for that reason. The people that go there are simply rude, aggressive and unclean.
