So this place has been around forever. I've frequented the actual buffet, which is typically pretty decent for American Chinese fair, especially since it's the only Chinese buffet option outside of Olean or Buffalo. But after trying a takeout order for the 3rd time, I cannot recommend doing take away from here. SERVERS: The service is swift, it's happy, very friendly actually for typical brisk Asian style service. They handle the buffet efficiently and are always asking if you're doing well. The lady who took my to-go order over the phone was kind, she even called me back to say they were out of something I ordered and offered a substitute. TO-GO ORDER: This is where it all went downhill. I know sometimes if you make to-go orders, they pull stuff directly off the buffet instead of making something new. Which is whatever, honestly, I'd have preferred what was on the line to what I received. a) Black Pepper Chicken: On the line it's crunchy, crispy and caramelized chicken and onions with a hint of black pepper. What I got in my container was bits of soggy chicken literally floating in non-thickened sweet sauce. So much in fact that it leaked out of the containers edges all over the bottom of the bag. Luckily it was double bagged so it didn't get on my seats. b) Buttered Sea Food: On the line it's fake crab and baby shrimp sautéed with garlic, butter and parsley and a little something extra (I think sesame oil myself) and it's awesome over rice. I ordered a small container of this without the shrimp, because sometimes the shrimp aren't clean and I prefer to skip that. It was okay but there wasn't a lot of the butter sauce, so everything on top was very dried out. I only live 10 minutes away, so it shouldn't be like that after such a short time. c) They were out of the smoky, garlicky green beans and offered to sauté some broccoli in the same style. This also came floating in pool of slightly seasoned water. Like it was blanched and tossed in the container without draining before they dumped sauce on, instead of actually sautéing it. I'd have just rather passed on it. d) The egg drop soup came off the buffet line, so it was fine. It's not the best I've had but it's not the worst either. I'd call it passable and it was the most edible thing from the order, after I added some garlic chili paste. Now this is the only the latest to-go order mistakes. The first two times saw issues as well, like missing food, incorrectly made food and food that is usually dryer instead begging for a lifeline from an ocean of sauce. Honestly, for $30 for takeout, I expect better quality and consistency. If you can make it nice and tasty for the buffet line, you should be able to do the same for the take-out option. It's going to be a while before I add this place back into my rotation. read more

Highly recommend Seven Dragon Buffet. The highlight here is the quality of food.. we thought it was delicious. There is not a huge selection of dishes, but more than enough to have a lot of different choices. We felt nothing was lacking in what was offered. Friendly staff was also nice to see. Sooo good we went 2 days in a row. 2 Buffets with 2 Lemonades was..Lunch $25 & Dinner $30. Can't beat this price and taste. read more

I have been to Seven dragons many times. The food is always hot and delicious, very good selection. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they are quick to remove plates and clean tables. Last time I stopped in , I went for the takeout, fill your trays with s much as possible with your favorite foods and pay by the pound . Very reasonable prices for takeout and indoors dining. read more

I was very disappointed. I had heard many good things about this place, so I thought I would check it out. When I got there, I found out it was take out only, no dine in. Being a buffet, I don't trust somebody else gathering my food when I can't see it first. When you can't see the food on the buffering first, you can't tell if it looks like it had been sitting there a long time, if it is dried out or looks appetizing. Also, if I am paying 5 dollars a pound, I want tobe able to enjoy it. Not have to take it home (which is 40 or minutes away) and have to treheat it when i get home. It then becomes a left over. Therefore, I never even got to try it. I ended up going to Mongolian Buffet in Blasdell. read more

I've never been a big fan of Chinese buffets, but Seven Dragons is pretty good (especially being in Salamanca). The thing I like most about it is that you can actually eat healthy if you REALLY want to. They have things like grilled chicken teriyaki on a stick, sautéed vegetables, pretty decent hot and sour soup, a small salad bar section and plenty of fresh fruits in addition to all the typical stir-fried dishes and deep fried goodies like egg rolls and crab Rangoon. In addition, they also have a bizarre assortment of American food like mac and cheese, pigs in a blanket(!) and stuffed mushrooms. Probably the best food we found in Salamanca. The buffet had a lot of different foods and we stuffed up on the only sustenance we could find here. It's around $10 and the spinach Puffs are pretty freaking awesome. There's not much food in this area but if you have to go somewhere go here. read more

Seven Dragon is best experienced at lunch time, when they open. At this time the food is fresh and quite good. Their black pepper chicken is wonderful. At dinner time, when the buffet costs more, the food seems almost stale. Some things look, and taste like they have been sitting out all day. I love going here if I am in the area and want to eat out I always go here. The price is right and the service impeccable. I have been to many buffets and this is the only one that has the soy sauce right on the table for you. A wide variety of food choices it is sometimes hard to decide what to eat. This is not the biggest Chinese buffet that I've been to, but they have all the essentials. The staff is extremely friendly. Prices are great. Food is very good. For Chinese it's 4 stars. For regular dining, it's probably more like 2.5. Also used to be the cheapest Chinese Buffet option around and was such a value but now prices have gone up a little and they don't change their dishes really at all. Considering all it has and doesn't have, it's still popular and always pumps out fresh food. read more

Seven Dragon is an above average Chinese buffet. Clean and pleasant. Nice decor and atmosphere. The food is pretty good, prices are very good, and our waitress may have the best handwriting I've ever seen. Many choices nicely displayed on a buffet table made to look like a boat. The meats were tasty, particularly the beef, green pepper, and onion, General Tso's chicken, and the teriyaki chicken on a stick. My compliments to the chef. I usually go for the shrimp but this time I was in a different mood but they were as inviting as usual. My gal the Crab Rangoon lover of all-time loved them here so much she had six! She says they are as good as any she's had and she's lived all over the East coast. I'm an egg roll fan but didn't care for the mini-egg roll offerings here. They have a good selection of fresh food so you folks who are actually trying to eat right won't be disappointed! They have ice cream, cookies, and cream puffs too. It looked good but we skipped dessert as we were already stuffed. I tend to agree with the guy who said if you want better than this go to the casino. read more
