Came in the other day for a quick excuse to not cook dinner! Ordered a special combination with honey chicken and a side of krab Rangoons. Overall the food was ok. The pork fried rice had a very nice flavor but the chicken and egg roll that came with the combination was relatively bland in flavor. Then the staff is clearly family owned as I had a little girl stop doing her homework to help at the register, which personally, I LOVE to see! She was super sweet and very mature to be doing things like that to help out the family. I hope this review helps with improving in any way. We gotta continue supporting small businesses! read more

I always get food from this place, and it's always the same, very good and it's always consistent. Everything I've eaten here is very well prepared and packed good in my to go boxes, and everything I've had here so far is very good and flavorful. The people who work here are always very friendly and have very good service. And the food is always cooked very fast, I'll have big orders and it's almost always only 15 minutes. Growing up in Salamanca, we used to order from the Great Wall Restaurant when Píng & Steve owned and operated it. It was, hands down, some of the best Chinese! I have since moved out of state and have yet to find a "crappy Chinese" restaurant as great. I was excited to give the New Great Wall, a try while I was back in the area for a visit. My brother told me it was almost as good as he remembered it being growing up; I was a little skeptical. The reviews on Yelp leave much for be desired and the physical appearance of the location is certainly not their priority. Honestly, I almost changed my mind solely based on those two factors. I am happy I didn't! New Great Wall is equally as great as it was growing up and certainly the best "crappy Chinese" spot I have been to. If you are considering this; don't base your decision on the reviews or what you see when you pull up. It is well worth it! And bonus for me, we were feeding 10, so we ended up with a buffet of our own. It was all great but their Chicken & Broccoli is the best I've had! I absolutely love coming here for Chinese! We drive 35-40 minutes to come get it. The food is always so good and the staff is SO nice. I'm always happy to spend money here and the prices aren't bad at all. The portions are huge for the price as well. The menu selection is pretty big. I always get the 20 pc donut box too because they're so good! I cant order from there without getting them. I highly recommend if you're looking to sit in, in a quiet setting or for take out. read more

Arguably the best place to eat in town. Good prices and very nice owners. The food is amazing. Always fresh and full of flavor. I've ordered half the menu and it's all been excellent. I usually go to theSeven Dragon, but this was close to work so I though I would try. Ended up with food posion. I had ordered Sweet and sour chicken, and my granddaughter ordered General Toes Chicken. She also became ill after eating the food. I would not recomend eating there. read more

So this is my review. My husband and I got dinner takeout from here last night. Now its been years and I usually go to Seven Dragon, so I was trying to be open minded. That said, I wasnt enthralled. Service: So, hard to communicate. That's not really a negative. But the gentleman failed to tell me that there were mushrooms in the double sauteed pork. He said it was pork and cabbage when I asked prior to ordering. I couldn't eat it. So points off for that. Food: This was a walk through the land of disappointment. Egg drop and wonton mixed soup was flaverless. Straight thickening agent and no stock. Not even salt. Meat in the wontons was hard and odd. Fried noodles couldnt even save it. Fried Dumplings made me the most sad. The wrapper was fine but the filling was that same weird hard lump. Not juicy. Just dry and strange. Id rather eat Seven Dragon's dumplings; even under done dough sometimes, they are still juicy and porky. The dipping sauce here wasn't acidic or tangy. Just salty. Double Sauteed Pork, like i said. Nope. My husband did say the pork didnt seem to have recieved the second saute. No carmelized porky bits. Black Pepper Chicken was just meh. Not bad. Not impressive. Just basic. Only recieved one steamed rice instead of the two we should have. Not that it matters because it was excessively sticky. The only actually good part of the meal were the two Steak and Cheese rolls. Those were actually tasty. Atmosphere: Like prior reviews have stated, its a little dirty. Very cluttered. Why is there a table with books and other items? Is there no office? And what's with the keyboard wedged in next to the fish tank? There were takeout containers with stuff in them just hanging out on the table that's in front of the oddly placed glass antique case?(Same corner as the keyboard and fish tank) I'd have to say we will be sticking to Lakeview in Olean and Seven Dragon for Salamanca. This place was the go to when I was a kid and they were located in the AutoZone plaza. Maybe i grew out of them or the quality slumped over the years. But I'm sorry that I wasted money here and I don't say that often. read more

This was a big positive surprise! We were skiing at Holiday Valley and were sick of the Ellicottville fare of burgers, pizza, and wings. The Moo Shu Pork was excellent. The chicken red curry was also very good. If you are skiing here try Great Wall for a nice change of pace! read more

Absolute best Chinese food around. The General Tso's are by far the best I've ever had. Extremely nice people just trying to make a living. The food feels much more honest than other Chinese restaurants in the area, and nothing seems frozen or unsanitary. This place is also apparently the cleanest restaurant around, despite what you may think when you walk in. They have many more menu options than other Chinese restaurants as well (the Singapore Chow Mei Fun is great). Great people, great food, great prices. I eat here all the time. read more

I agree with Delmar this is quite an ordinary Chinese restaurant. If you wanna grab lunch quick and cheap I guess it's ok. You can dine-in but I doubt you'd want to. It needs remodeling badly. We don't live in Salamanca and now that we're in town again we will try the other local Chinese joint. Wherever we go we try the various Chinese places looking for the Holy Grail of Chinese joints. It's what we do, and as of now places like Zhang's and Mongolian Buffet lead the pack which has become crowded in recent years.
