I was a guest to a destination wedding to the Hard Rock Resort in Punta Cana. The bride and groom…read moreused this company (Sue in specific) to try to lessen the stress of wedding planning and getting everyone accommodated at the location. However, it was the COMPLETE opposite for everyone involved. Speaking on my experience, Sue was not very responsive until it came down to collecting the money. Didn't really have or give any other information in regards to the hotel. Fast forward to the travel day & the experience of the stay. We arrived and was not aware that there was a requirement of a major credit card or a debit amount in a checking account for a $400 hold. Some did not travel we credit cards or did not have it. When we finally got our room, we had two separate beds. We tried to get the hotel to get us a room with a single king bed but they told us that our travel agent was supposed to specify. The hotel notified us that Sue has used this hotel several times and should have notified us about all these inconveniences we experienced at check in. None of this was asked to us and was automatically assumed by Sue that we were okay with. I emailed Sue about the bed situation and she basically put the blame on me when she was the one who knew how the hotel operates. Every hotel/resort I've been to (and I travel A LOT for work & pleasure) are able to accommodate you at check in. If you can imagine 2 people sleeping in 1 double bed for 5 days, it was extremely uncomfortable and frustrating. If you are looking to book anywhere, do not use this agency. This was my first time using an agency & I've done a lot better booking directly with the resort or on my own. If you are looking to use this agency for a wedding or any other large group event ... LOOK ELSEWHERE !!!!!

I thought to myself what???!! Theres no way I just paid for a trip and im either going to be confined to a hotel room or wont be able to go at all..what kind of trip is that???? I expressed my concerns and told her if I cant go I need to be refunded unless you can help fix this and plan another trip, she then says to cancel its $800!!!!!(btw I wasn't canceling i was being forced out of my trip) and if i wanted to avoid that fee she gave me the option to choose a different date but same destination and I would have to have an answer by the end of january and I couldn't be refunded after that...please tell me how im supposed to know when that restriction is going to be lifted to give her an accurate date??? My roommate and I booked a tour (for June 2025) online. Their system wasn't user friendly and my credit card was charged five times for the deposit. It was like paying for the entire trip. We ended up being on the waitlist anyway. That was in December. Now that it's February, I called to get an update and see if I could get a refund for at least four of my deposits. I spoke with Kariya who was very polite, professional, and patient. She sorted through the information and found out that my roommate and I are 4th on the waitlist. If I cancel now, I can get a full refund. If I stay on the waitlist, I would lose my deposit if I don't get go on the trip. I decided to cancel, but they can't refund me until my roommate contacts them with her decision: 1. stay on the waitlist, change her reservation to a single room, and lose her deposit if she doesn't get to go on the trip... 2. get a refund. We shall see the results...

Tour guide tells us how much we 'owe' and who to pay it to. Which is EVERYBODY. This is not acceptable behavior from tour guides or the Collette company. This is the second time in a row this has happened to me. Egypt 2024 and Thailand 2025. Tour guides constantly asking for money makes the entire tour stressful and uncomfortable. Tips are not OWED. It is inappropriate and rude to ASK for tips, much less to ask for 'prepayment of tips.' Collette needs to change these tactics.

I would hate to think how they would have been if my travel need was more urgent or serious. If possible, look for another travel service if you are going to travel. I would not have confidence in their ability to get you through your trip if a situation were to occur.
