I came into this location Saturday after making an appointment to update my license address. The service was straightforward, I waited less than 15 minutes for the entire process which included filing out the firm given to me at the counter, to taking a new picture for my license and payment. The branch is small but inviting. Everyone was super nice it sure beat going to the dmv and taking time out of work. I like the sign that pets are AAA members. AAA Cranston - Entrance - Travel Services Near Me - Cranston, Rhode Island

AAA is not concerned with fighting hunger nor are they concerned when they cause severe damage to vehicles. I was involved in an unfortunate situation rendering my car inoperable. A had AAA tow my car to a local shop to have my brakes fixed. When the car was positioned on the flatbed I noticed there were not blocks to elevate the bed to avoid the bottom of a car like mine scrapping against the ground. As we arrived to the shop the car was removed from the tow truck again without the proper equipment. This time I heard the scrapping but did not think it was anything severe. When I got back in the vehicle I immediately heard this violent rattling coming from underneath the car. I jacked the car up and clearly saw the catalytic converters dented and damaged with scrape marks starting at the end of the catalytic converter which could only happen if the car is going backwards. The internal components were completely shattered, my car wouldn't idle correctly and the O2 sensors couldn't read emissions. I called AAA followed protocol and sent in all supporting videos and pictures. An adjuster came out to inspect the vehicle which I had on a lift. I let him hear the catalytic converters banging and showed him the damage. He seemed very careless and unprofessional. I was told to not fix the vehicle until I heard back. Few days later I receive an email stating they can not take responsibility of the damage because after inspection it was considered "wear and tear and superficial". I now have a car that does not run and thousands of dollars worth of damage. I'm currently waiting on my insurance company. Please be careful with companies like AAA who do not honor their morals. Wow! What a great experience! Since I've moved to a different part of the state I didn't know what to expect from this AAA office. The moment I walked in, being the first of the month there was definitely a long line. I waited in line and was greeted by such a wonderful customer service rep. Once they know what you're there for (registration, passport pics, etc), you're then placed on the list. She told me it was over an hour wait but I was called within half hour. The pics show a lot of people but trust me when I tell you, they have their work down to a science and were very quick and efficient, and the whole time they have smiles on their faces and know all the answers. The customer service staff is great and so accommodating. 5 stars for awesome service!!! read more

It was a horrible and scary experience with some of the most careless customer service in a stressful time I have ever heard of. I was stranded on the highway with a storm approaching . Eva who talked to me on the phone was completely rude and heartless . She hung up on me and didn't call back and she lied to me for almost two hours telling me it would be 20 minutes away. (Additionally someone working from home as a call center could not even find me in the system). Come to find out three different tow drivers couldn't find me and never ONCE called or texted to try and find me . Eva did not tell me this she just kept heartlessly lying and telling me 20 minutes as I waited in dangerous storms on the highway. She needs to be retrained in customer service as this was dangerous and heartless . read more

I love this place. They are so organized and efficient. I drove up because I had lost the sticker for my license plate and saw the sign that said that I needed to make an appointment online. I have no problem with that or anything else that keeps me safer. I got online right there in the parking lot and made an appointment for about three hours later that day. It worked out perfectly. There was one person ahead of me in line and I was helped quickly and was on my way. read more

I've been coming to this AAA location for several years now. My most recent visit was to obtain a duplicate registration for my vehicle. It was such a pleasure to be able to conduct registry in this office. The clerk at the registry desk was extremely helpful and saved me a lot of time. From the moment I checked it, sat and completed what I needed to be done took approximately five minutes. They are very organized and everyone was very helpful and friendly. I signed up for AAA yesterday after my car randomly wouldn't start. After I got stuck with a parking ticket and my car insurance payment wouldn't go through (stolen debit card, yay), I was loathe to call AAA and wait for the million hours it would take to send someone over. I called them. They were the friendliest people in the god damn world. Where did they get these people? Did they just collect every single nice person off the street and give them free food? The rep on the phone explained that it would probably be ninety minutes before someone arrived. Five minutes later, a got a call from another rep telling me that the AAA tow truck was outside my house. That's faster than I've gotten my coffee at Starbucks. Tim, the tow guy, was not only the sweetest person in the world (SERIOUSLY WHERE ARE THEY GETTING THESE PEOPLE I WANT THEM), but tested my battery and offered me some repair guidance after jumping my car and making sure it got back in my driveway okay. The entire experience from start to finish took less than a half-hour. My beer was still cold when I went back inside. What magical world is this? Thank you, AAA, for being the only thing in my day that didn't go wrong. read more

AAA ROCKS! The staff of the Reservoir Ave Cranston RI AAA branch very graciously helped me with my last-minute request for a Triptik. I was driving to Florida the following day. I honestly didn't expect they would be able to help me because of the short notice ... but they were extremely accommodating of my needs. They asked me for details of my trip and I did NOT want to go through NYC. They were able to plot my particular course and actually cut my driving time around NYC by about 30 minutes. I was making this drive for the first time so was relying on the Triptik completely to get me to my destination. I arrived in record time because of the AAA Triptik! YAY! read more

Had to get a new license today after my was stolen this week... Went to AAA in Cranston. Customer service was top notch!! I believe Jennifer helped us. She was phenomenal. Explanation of the membership was through, and renewed my license as well. So nice to know there is still great customer service in RI!!! Went in again in September to get my daughter her drivers education booklet. Again my customer service rep was excellent !!! I will keep my membership just for the awesome DMV Service. Usually the DMV is a day long suicide watch kind of day, long lines, shitty customer service, smelly dirty people & a waste of a day off. I used to live in Cranston and do work right near there so this is a pretty convenient location. In a long and overdue review, had a great experience here with travel agent Pauline Constantino about 5 years ago (Extremely overdue). I booked a trip for myself and my husband to Disney for his 30th birthday as he had never been before. She was very informative and provided me with everything I needed. I made payments over time, she helped with the booking of our room at Port Orleans (and we had a perfect room location as well!) as well as restaurant recommendations for reservations. As I had not been since I was 10, I needed the best information on how to divvy up the time between parks while saving a few bucks and making the most of it. I Went to AAA Cranston to renew my registration on two cars. I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly woman behind an information desk who guided me to the right line. A very nice gentlmen behind the counter ask how he could help me. I explained what I was there for and he advised me that my paperwork was not filled out correctly. I forgot to put my insurance info on there, that of course i forgot in my car. I made several trips out to my car after grabbing an expired card first, the whole time the gentlemen waited patiently for me. After securing the right card he registered my two vehicles and I was on my way. Did I mention my registration on both cars expired on that day. AAA made it a very pleasant day. Great experience! I'd give them a 0 if I could. They left my son stranded in single digit weather outside for almost 2 hours last night. They cancelled his ticket without notifying him, so we had to drive 30 miles to pick him up. Since then, their phones in ALL RI offices are disconnected and the customer service line just rings until it disconnects. We have signed up online 3 times now, and it has been cancelled without any activity or notification twice. We actually drove to an office to try to speak to a human. She was nice, but just said they didn't have enough employees to even answer phones. Its winter in New England, and they planned for beach weather. Their commercials say they keep families safe... This review specially pertains to the AAA office on Reservoir Ave in Cranston, but I bet the experience is somewhat universal. Let me just say, I love this place. We all know that a AAA membership "pays" for itself the 1st time you have to use it for a tow, but what about the other snazzy services they offer? You know, like discounted movie tickets, or, in this case- DMV services. I had to get my registration renewed, and I couldn't do it by mail, because I had let it expire at the end of the month- I'm driving around all illegal like. Now, I could have gone to the Registry of Motor Vehicles; that Kafkaesque ministry building wedged between the Maximum security prison and the nuthouse, but I just didn't have all day to deal with that horror-show. So I thought I'd try my luck at my local branch of the triple A. Good choice. I have to be at work at 9:30. The AAA opens at 9:00am. I pulled into the parking lot at 8:54, but that's okay because I was still enjoying my delicious coffee & muffin from "Brewed Awakenings". Standing at the door 9:00 sharp (second in line). Nice lady opens the door with a smile. Young man standing at the entrance asking if my forms were filed out already. "Yep". Cheery woman behind the counter, "May I help you?" I give her my registration letter, my ID, my membership card and ninety bucks. I walk out 7 minutes later with a new reg and a polite "Have a nice day and drive safely". Pulling out of the parking lot at 9:15 and back at work by 9:28; truly this is not the DMV. read more

I wish I would have gotten the name of the gentleman that helped me but I didn't. the branch was so busy and there I was requesting a duplicate registration since I had lost mine, well, that's what I thought. Turns out my registration had lapsed! instead of pushing me aside or rudely telling me and giving me paper work to fill out he took the time to transfer information for me. it was so easy and seamless. Renewed my registration and walked out the door within 10 minutes. A lot easier than the time consuming hassle of venturing into the depressing vortex that is the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Have also used the license renewal services there. In and out with a eye test and a pretty new photo in just a few minutes. Made for a positive birthday! Worst experience ever! I called AAA being that I'm a member to see if I can change my name on my license and registration with them vs. the RI DMV as I just got married. They said you can do your reg but for your license and your social security card. I go to the DMV first change my lic head to AAA in cranston and they tell me we can't do your reg here but we can do your lic! They say go to the third floor of the DMV you'll be out in 20 min! Ummm no it's the second floor and I've been here for 45 min there still is 40 people in front of me! The fact that I've waisted my hole morning and probably my hole afternoon at the DMV because AAA in cranston RI gave me the wrong information 2 times is infuriating! I recently purchased a new car and had to turn in my old truck plates. The thought of having to go to the DMV for this nauseated me. So I turned to one of the best services that AAA provides......DMV services at AAA offices. The office was busy but the staff there was great. My plates were processed and documented in a matter of minutes!! No more nausea. No long lines at the DMV. This is truly one of the best services provided by AAA. I've been here to both renew and update my driver's license, and it's always a painless process. It's spacious and clean, people check in on you while you're in line to make sure you have the necessary paperwork filled out and everyone is very friendly. Don't go at lunch time unless you want to wait in a huge line and be forced to listen to terrible Disney music (that's all they're allowed to play, it turns out, because they're owned by Disney. Who knew?). But besides that, no issues. I had to go back because the DMV website hadn't updated a new policy (if you're changing your name, you can no longer use the change of name notice the SS office issues you...you need to wait for your actual card to arrive), and went just after 11. I was in line for all of 5 minutes. Much better than waiting 45 minutes at noon only to be told I needed to come back. So the take away: maybe call first just to confirm what you ACTUALLY need to have with you just in case, don't go at lunch time unless you're a huge Disney fan, and if you're not, bring earplugs or else risk your sanity. read more

This place is soo accomodating. Seeing as I have a child attached to me while I run errands (and by attached I mean with me but running laps around me exploring any new territory), it can be less than ideal to do things that involve waiting in lines and paperwork. I went in to get a new license. I was chatting with someone I know that I ran into when a really sweet lady that works there asked me what my needs were and after showing me what paper i needed to fill out she was chatting with my son and showing him around to the cat in the hat doll and minnie mouse. Sooo sweet and sooo helpful! Once I finished filling out the form, i asked where the restroom was. It was so clean, actually the whole place feels clean and they even had a vending machine with snacks and drinks. We got two ice cold waters. So appreciated during this hot weather! So i preceeded to the line, which was moving rather quickly. Thankfully since the nice lady was busy now and so my son decided it was time to run laps. All the employees were very engaging with my son and seemed to be pretty understanding that he is 2 and needs to explore a bit. I deeply appreciate this as Its not always the case. As I got to the counter , my son began a slight meltdown because I needed to keep him by my side while the gentleman checked my forms of ID in order to get my license to me. Well let me tell you everyone was still super understanding. The guy helping me was super speedy and it even ended up costing me less than I thought it would. And the other guy at the counter was very empathetic, stating "wow he is so tired huh?" It was such a great experience. I will make sure to go to this location any time I need to go to AAA.
