They seem to really know their stuff. They were honest and told me both the good and the bad of the machines. So well, I walked out with a much more expensive machine than I had intended and I am so excited to get started using it. As I was walking out the lady that helped me called me over and said, your receipt doesn't look right. I had paid and she could have just let me walk out, but she stopped me. Checked the receipt and reprocessed my transaction with the lower amount. With the purchase of a machine you get free classes also. I was impressed by their fabric and notions selections also. This is a store that I would like to shop at every day, unfortunately, if I did, I would be broke. It's a great store! Go visit them every day but I would go broke.

Today I phoned to express disappointment with a sweatshirt I purchased in December. I do not wear this sweatshirt daily ( I am in San Diego). It is full of little white pilfiries(?). Yesterday I spilled coffee with cream on the sweatshirt, I sprayed oxy clean on it and washed. Remnant of the stain is still there. The customer service person was argumentative and not helpful. The bottom line is that MC does not stand behind their expensive items, and that is unfortunate. On the back and front is the company logo-free advertisement...I will be wearing this sweatshirt inside out so I don't continue to promote Minky Couture.

Yes, they have a huge variety (baby sleepers, dog beds, etc.), but the staff are super helpful in guiding you to the perfect choice. Some might think the blankets are pricey, but they regularly run amazing sales - like 40-65% off throughout the year, not just during the holidays. Totally worth it for the quality you get! I've never had any issues with shedding like another reviewer mentioned. Honestly, I love them so much that everyone in my family is getting a Minky Couture blanket for Christmas this year! However, I liked the selection that they had. The ladies working there were helpful and friendly. I prefer more modern and trendy patterns and like most quilt shops this one caters to an older demographic with more traditional taste. I did find some very cute fabric but it took some searching. The shop is a bit cluttered and I feel the location at Rainbow Gardens is bizarre! The price for a fat quarter is $3 so I'd say that is comparable to most quilt shops that carry quality fabric. For the fabric selection I'd give this shop a "3." The service is absolutely a "5." The owner was very attentive and helpful. She was giving a lot of help to other patrons but kept coming back to me. I brought my children to the shop with me and the owner gave them candy and she has a little table set up for kids. This was really a bonus because I have no choice but to take my children everywhere with me and I appreciate businesses who understand this and accommodate me. Overall, I would say that there isn't a large selection of fabric that suits my particular taste but they do have a lot of fabric to choose from. They do not carry much in the way of cotton quilting fabrics. Most of their fabric is flannel with some fleece and some pre-printed quilt panels. If you are looking for a specific type of fabric you may want to call ahead and check to make sure they carry it. They were well stocked in flannel so if you are looking to make baby blankets or something of that sort that could be your place.
