I go to school in LA, so I am home for the summer. I needed my hair done, and have been here before so I thought it would be a safe bet, I also noticed karima had an opening and I wanted to go to her based on the work on her page. When I arrived she told me Courtney would be doing my hair and proceeded to assure me that she's the best for ponytails. I didn't mind really I just needed my hair done and was in a rush. The ponytail literally fell out as I walked out of the shop and when I went out that night completely unraveled, I could've done a better job myself honestly. Now I live very far away, and go to school even FURTHER so Coming back is not worth the price I paid originally. I never got what I paid for and have asked for a refund multiple times to no avail. I wouldnt recommend a place with this customer service to anyone. If someone doesn't receive a service they PAID and COMMUTED for, they deserve a refund, NOT to come back AGAIN for something they never received. read more

This review is for Tiffany and not the other stylist. I don't know any of their work. I went to my appointment to have Tiffany put a 360 lace wig installed. OMG! Where do I begin. I should never work night shift the day before appointments like this one. Otherwise, I would have stopped this madness. Instead I dosed on and off during the install process. First, I believe she switched the wig that I brought in. I had a 18 inch big body wave premium human hair. When I got home, the hair measured more than 22 inches. WTH?? It was flat stringy and appeared to be worn or cheap wavy hair. Now back to the install, I am very dark skin. Tiffany used a nude color for white skin wig cap on my hair. She tried to darken it by putting tons of darker foundation on it. This is not the worse part. She glued the cap on to my forehead and so far down, the sides were literally touching my eyebrows on the side. She used so much glue on my head and on the back that the glue was on my entire neck. The kicker is, she had the wig so far forward, she couldn't get the wig to stick in the back. I didn't notice any of this until I got home. My family's look on their face when I walked in was a look of horror. They immediately told me. OMG! That's not even the same wig! I ran to the mirror and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I had exactly 24 hours before I left for my vacation. I had no time to run back and confront her with this horrific mess. My daughter ran to the store and bought glue remover. My other daughter ran and bought a new wig. Together they got me ready to leave. I feel bad because started removing the wig and glue without taking pics. I do have pics of midway removal. You can see by the redness how far forward the wig was glued on my face to my eyebrows. I was determined not to let her ruin my vacation. read more

Tiffany is an amazing stylist. Her wigs are always the best quality. She always does my hair perfect. I highly highly recommended her.

Most unprofessional stylist ever!! On top of starting my appointment half an hour late and repeatedly interrupting to service other customers, she also tried to steal and hide pieces of my hair (bundle) in her drawer then acted like she didn't know what to do when she saw that I had noticed. I've read from your customer reviews that you've displayed unprofessional, rude, & disrespectful behavior as an alleged "professional" so that is partly my oversight because I actually loved your work on instagram, but you fell short at even that because your work turned out to be mediocre at best. Some of my tracks are loose and the braid down was a very sloppy job. You were so busy talking that you didn't even want to hear what I had to say in the moment. You also cut my bundles without asking me. You may think your time is valuable but so is your customers, who also put their hard earned money to receive such service. Next time treat your customers better because you got the right one! Would not recommend 0/10 read more

I'm super particular about my sew ins & she got it to lay flat and it's not bulky. And she's FAST. I just left here and bought some bundles and omg this place is SOOO cute and the owner Karima is super sweet!! She let me touch the hair before purchasing and gave me her honest opinion of on what curl pattern I should choose. I refuse to buy hair from beauty shops due to the reason that I've never been able to reuse the bundles, and I've never had a good experience buying hair online, so it is great knowing a local black owned business has them to purchase. I also took advantage of her 4 for $400 bundle deal.. you CAN'T beat that price!! I've never been able to get 26 inch hair on a deal like that until I found this place. The bundles are sooo soft and I know they'll be super flowy and reusable. She also offers wig, makeup, and braiding services which is great for events like weddings or graduations. I contacted Courtney via IG, I saw someone post her goddess braids and thought this would be perfect for my upcoming vacation. She was very personable and answered all questions I asked. I schedule an appointment with her via Styleseat. I then noticed on her IG post she indicated the time I had reserved was open to be booked. I again reached out to her to confirm my appointment. I said I was looking forward to my appointment and I would see her the next day. I processed to take down my current hair style in preparation for my appointment once she confirmed. She texted me 4 hours before my appointment to cancel. She asked if I could come in on another day I indicated I could not. She said she would make it work, but was not replying to my text nor calls in a timely manner. She then referred me to someone else in another city, in which I did not know nor was I familiar with her work. I left work early for this appointment and its disappointing that I was unable to get my hair done. She indicated that she could do it the next day however I was unable to come early due to me leaving work the following day to come to my appointment she canceled. So, I had been looking forward to my hair appointment with Karima, @sewedupbykarima for weeks. I booked it maybe 2 1/2 weeks in advance for Christmas morning at 9am. Days before my appointment I tried to reach out to Karima to see what I should do to my hair before hand. She never got back to me, the day of my appointment, 30 minutes before my appointment time, Karima texts me if we could put off my appointment 30 minutes. I was a little irritated as it was Christmas morning. I told her it was okay and I would see her at 9:30. Once it hit 9/9:15 she texts me again asking to put my appointment off until 10.. a whole hour later. Although I was upset I still agreed. She showed up at 10:05, had an attitude immediately, and goes on to complain that it's Christmas morning and she didn't really want to do my hair because she is a mom.... I AM A MOM TOO! if the time didn't work out she should've removed it from her availability schedule. I'm sorry but that was the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL thing anyone could've ever done. If she knew she did not want to work Christmas morning she should've never had the day and time available to book, she could've also sent me a message or called me any time during those 2 1/2 weeks that I had booked my appointment. I left to New York without having my hair done.My whole experience was upsetting. She's very unprofessional. She then had the nerve to tell me she wouldn't charge me... charge me because she was over an hour late ??? She also insisted I could book her again it's just the timing was bad....
