I'm heartbroken and furious over my experience with Maura's Sewing Creations. Trusting her with my wedding dress was one of the biggest mistakes I made during my entire planning process. What should have been a special, exciting experience turned into a nightmare. The quality of work was absolutely unacceptable. The straps on my dress broke before the wedding day, which forced me to scramble last-minute to get them fixed and completely altered again -- something no bride should have to deal with right before her big day. The craftsmanship was clearly rushed and careless! On top of that, I was completely ripped off. The prices she charged for such poor workmanship were outrageous. For the amount I paid, I expected professionalism and attention to detail -- what I got instead was stress, disappointment, and a gown that felt like a DIY project gone wrong. To make everything worse, her customer service was just as repulsive. She was defensive, dismissive, and took zero accountability for the issues she caused. There was no apology, no offer to make things right -- just attitude and excuses. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. Maura Ulloa DBA Sewing Creations by Maura is a con woman who ripped me off for hundreds of dollars in hugely inflated charges and ruined $1,200.00 of my clothing. I later took my items to a reputable tailor in town and he said he has never seen such subpar work-- uneven stitching, uneven sleeve lengths, unfinished sections, shredded fabric and holes in fabric that were not there prior. I sued her in civil court and she had the unmitigated nerve to countersue with some trumped up charges with no basis in fact, which constituted abuse of process. Other online reviews show that Maura Ulloa has a longstanding practice of quoting one price, doubling that price upon delivery, and then holding clothing hostage in an extortion scheme. One reviewer stated, "Maura tried to steal the dress out of my bridesmaid's hand, and played tug-o-war with it (even though she knew we were waiting for the cops to get there) The police man even had a difficult time with her, and almost had to arrest her. In April 2020, we postponed our large ceremony to January 2021 due to COVID-19. However, we decided to not do a large ceremony in January and just do a small ceremony at the end of July 2020. Maura was able to do ALL of the alterations for my dress in about 3-4 weeks. Not only did she do the normal alterations, such as hemming the bottom and shortening the straps, but she also CUSTOM MADE the neckline by cutting out and piecing together pieces of unused lace to cover pieces of my chest/make it more flattering. I honestly wasn't sure if she was going to be able to fix the neckline, but the work she did was INCREDIBLE and she went above and beyond in a short amount of time to ensure that my dress was PERFECT. Maura is such a sweet and wonderful lady! She altered my wedding dress and made it fit perfectly and beautifully. She is very careful and attentive to detail when it comes to wedding gowns. I had been searching a long time for a good seamstress and came to Maura last minute with my dress at 5 weeks from the wedding. She worked me into her schedule and even accommodated me when I had to cancel and reschedule for the following week because of my work. She also reserved the two days after my final fitting for any last minute changes to the dress so that I could be 100% confident in the fit of the gown. Thank you so much, Maura! Maura did an excellent job on my wedding gown alterations. My dress was probably a size or two bigger than I really should have gotten, but she was able to take in the sides so beautifully that no one would have ever known. She also redid the hem to a perfect length for walking and added a bustle that looked great and was easy for my bridesmaid to tie up. In addition, scheduling fittings was an easy process. She was very accommodating of my schedule, and I found her to be a very kind and easy to talk to person. Maura is my hero. I took my dress to get the bustle and straps redone for my dress. I would post pictures but I had to postpone my wedding due to covid concerns. Maura is wonderful to work with and she nailed it. The straps of my dress were just the way I imagined them to be. Originally they were beaded spaghetti strap and I was not a fan. Maura was able to create a lace strap that was much more elegant than before. Also, she got my dress back to me in a WEEK. This woman is a superhero. You can't convince me otherwise. read more

I recently had Maura to get alterations done for my Daughter's Prom dress. Prom is on 04/27/2019. Maura was great. I was nervous about this due to the chosen dress being very long and my Daughter not being very tall. Lol. Of course, Prom has to be perfect says my 12th grader. Well, I picked the perfect shop. I bought a mask for myself and had some made and sent them to my cousin for her hospital in Orlando. PERFECT CONSTRUCTION. The mask fits with no gaps, it is easy to wash, and it is surprisingly comfortable. I purchased navy blue outsides and white insides to look professional, and she used the CDC recommended material.
