I wish I could give 0 stars. The tech doing my nails was so rough. Three of my fingers were bleeding and she never apologized once. My one finger is now swollen the next day even after putting antibiotic ointment on them. The photos with the blood were taken after washing them off so you can imagine what they looked like before. To top it off, when I got out one of my nails had a bubble which is the one circled in black. I went to another salon to get that one fixed since it was for a wedding and they looked terrible. I went here last week for the first time for a regular mani/pedi. I am new to Seymour and was looking for a nice salon close to my house. The salon is really nice and clean but the girl that did my mani and pedi did not do a good job. She seemed like she was new and very nervous. After my below average pedi I was worried abt my mani ( I was attending a wedding later that day) I questioned whether she was a licensed nail tech because I have only been to Russian nail techs in CT who were licensed and did an amazing job and charged less than this place. This girl confirmed to me that she was not licensed by the way she was ripping at my cuticles. I asked her twice to please clean up my cuticle but she continued to rip at them and I was worried they wld start bleeding. She also did a horrible job painting both my toes and nails and they started chipping the next day. I paid over $50 for this horrible job plus I tipped the girl $10. I don't mind paying for good/great service but this was a waste of money. I did call the manager Jennifer after I left to let her know how unhappy I was. She did apologize and said she wld give me a free mani. I explained I don't want or expect anything free I just wanted the job done correctly the first time. I wld nvr go back there. I only gave it one star because it was a very nice and clean salon. read more

Very disappointed with how I was treated. I had been going to this salon for well over 10 years. Went for a pedicure with a new girl and it was terrible. She basically gave me less than half a pedi. Did not do the scrub, the keratin treatment, or the massage. Then, when I mentioned it to her, all of a sudden, she didn't understand English. I told the owner, who knows me well, knows I've been going there for years, and never complained, and she blatantly ignored me. Then, when I paid, I explained again what she didn't do and the owner gave me back the tip. Nothing more, not what I paid for the pedicure. So, I paid full price for about 25% of a pedicure. Considering I have been a customer for over 10 years I expected more of a courtesy from them. Maybe a gift card for a free pedicure and maybe an "I'm sorry," but nope, not a thing was said. lt is very sad because I won't ever return, and I did enjoy going there. read more

I've been going here for years, but today was the final straw for me, and I won't be returning. Today was the second time that I made an appointment, but they gave my seat to someone else (even though I was on time, both times). They didn't apologize either time. This place is always packed, and they always overbook themselves. I don't usually have much time to get pedis, and this was an epic waste of my time, especially today, since I had to get a babysitter for one hour so I could get a pedicure. I waited for 15 minutes, but realized that 2 other people were ahead of me for pedicures, and that I'd be waiting for a LONG time if I stuck around! I ended up walking out because I had to get home to my child. When I went home and talked about it with a few friends and family members, several of them said that they experienced the same thing on several occasions, which is why they took their business elsewhere. Other than that, if they are really busy (which they usually are), they tend to rush through my pedis. I was once waiting for my massage, and my girl was called away to tend to a new customer, and I never got my massage. They're also not the best at foot rubs. They pretty much just rub your legs, and it sort of hurts. I'm on my feet all day and they're always killing me, and I really look forward to a good foot massage when I get a pedi - but I've been to almost every person there, and I've never received a foot massage that was amazing. I've been told by so many people to try Blue Lotus in Shelton, so I recently checked them out. They're a little pricey, but worth it. I'll be going there from now on. If you want to try Seymour Nails anyway, here are a few things you will probably be happy about: the place is clean, and the prices aren't horrible. They also have a bonus card (ask them, they usually don't offer it on their own). You get a certain percentage of what you spend, and they give you double points if you pay cash. It does take forever to accumulate enough money to put towards a service (it took me over two years to have enough for a mani) but hey, its free money right? They also do a hot stone massage and paraffin wax with their pedis at no extra charge (pedi's are $27), and they also have waxing days, and I believe it's as much as 50% off. read more

I have had my nails done by them for 3 years. This past year since January I can't go 1 week without it chipping. I got my nails done for vacation on May 24th by Sunday they were already chipping. They won't give a refund they will only redo your nails which I have redone now 3 times!! It's ridiculous!! My pedicure which is not gel last me 3-4 weeks!! read more

I would give this spa 0 stars but it wouldn't let me. This place added 10 dollars to my bill because I had a couple of black polka dots. I find the customer service terrible. The owner handles problems in the worst possible way. Someone accidently took something they believed that was their's and then called the POLICE. It was a complete accident, but they decided to wait for the person to come back so they can get the police involved. They made a big scene in front of a salon filled with people without so much as an apology after the matter was resolved. This put the person in a very humiliating position. I try to get in for a manicure or pedicure every time I'm in the area and it's always packed. I suppose that's a good sign but I'm always told the wait is "5 or 10 minutes." The past two times, I've walked out at the 20 minute mark but today I waited. I waited 45 minutes! The manager was very kind and apologized to me for waiting. I had the time to kill, but I watched a lot of people get angry, storm out, complain that their appt time wasn't being honored, etc. I even watched one woman in head to toe gold lamé and sequins make the poor manicurist cry because she demanded her pedicure be done over again and was micromanaging the entire thing. It was pretty uncomfortable to watch. The manager was running around putting out fires left and right. She seemed like a very nice lady though and was trying to help customers and her (somewhat frustrated) staff. My pedicure came out pretty good--the standard pedicure includes a paraffin treatment and hot stones. It's a clean place, they have a decent color selection and it's fairly priced so I would say if you love great valley people watching and have an hour plus to kill, it's worth it. read more

I just left the salon. I called today around 2:20 and was given a 4:30 appointment. When I arrived around 4:20 there were 2 people who were already there. As I set there 3 people came in after me it was then 4:45. The 2 people who came in after me were promptly serviced for a pedicure. The 3rd was taken for manicure. I left and called the salon owner to let her know that I was not happy and I was going to write a review. I happen to be black the salon was filled with Caucasian customers with the exception of me. Coincidence? I've lived in the valley over 26 years. I can't believe people still think we don't belong. This is the 3rd time since April that I went there and was not served. The 1st and 2nd visit I was a walk in. This time I made an appointment. Apparently, Seymour nails caters to whites only. I love this place! Gel manis last 2+ weeks and I've never had a bad one here. This place is consistently busy, but the many techs always take their time and include the extras like paraffin, hot stone massage...even put your rings in cleaning solution if you'd like! I've never had waxing service here, but everything else is awesome. Prices are average - my usual gel mani and reg pedi come to $59. They swipe my rewards card and always allow me to add a tip to my cc, even though they have the cash tips only signs. Highly recommend this friendly professional salon! read more

I found this salon after going to many others. For the same price, I received a gel manicure and nice massage (twice on a few occasions) and a paraffin wax. I really liked Cindi and the care she took. My complaints were just that with gel removal, you really have to be careful, which is one of the reasons I stopped going for a while. Abrasive removal might be more forgiving with younger nails, but at 50, mine can't hold up. Some technicians will take their time, use a wooden stick, one time Cindi used a hot towel to help soften the enamel. Others use a tool that reminds me of a dremel tool that is way too abrasive. Overall, the salon is clean, the techs are pleasant enough and they have good movies on to watch if you need a distraction. Just be proactive with the care for your nails. read more

I Stopped in after a long cold winter for a pedicure. I just got off work it was Friday before Mothers day and I needed to relax. They got me right in and it was great. The only thing...she forgot my neck and shoulder massage while I was drying. I look forward to this the most especially after a long week of working in the office . I usually tip @50%but was so disappointed I just walked out after paying. Never had a problem before but the techs need to pay more attention to clients if they want to keep them. I've been to this nail salon in the Klarides Village plaza twice and both times I had an outstanding experience. The staff is very friendly and you get a lot for your money. For $40 you can get a mani/pedi that includes hot wax for both hands and feet (different containers, of course) AND a really nice shoulder massage while your nails dry. The second time I went, my cousin and I were the last people in the shop at the end of the day and they didn't rush us at all. The owners chatted with us and even took extra time with us. these girls who work here are all really great. they spend so much time making sure your nails will be perfect... which they always are. they do TWO top coats and always get the color right to the nail bed which i like. the price isn't bad. everyone is polite. i've walked in with no appointment and if it's busy the salon owner does my nails. when she's not painting nails she is looking over the other girls doing nails and helping them and teaching them. i've never had a bad shellac manicure here... and i've gone like 30 times. also a plus, they play really good movies on a big screen so those are fun to watch and help pass the time. what i like the most about this place is, if i ask for structure gel under my shellac or extra sparkles over my shellac, they do it and don't even charge me extra for it. one girl did UV gel on one of my nails because it's kind of deformed and she didn't charge me extra for that either! seriously it's clean, everyone is polite, and you are treated with respect. definitely go here. and they have TONS of shellac/gel colors. : ) read more
