As a 75-year-old man I felt like a fish out of water entering a yarn shop. I went in hoping to find someone to darn some repairs to a couple of Ragg Wool sweaters. I was greeted and assisted by a young woman named Bry. She agreed to perform the repairs, and I couldn't be happier with the color match and quality of her work. read more

I think of the Indiana yarn shops I've been to, this is the cutest one! I wish I were closer to join in knitting events (post-COVID, of course) here. The space is welcoming, and I've always found the staff friendly and helpful. Since Covid, I've been following the shop on Instagram, and they have some of their yarns available online for purchase, either via local pick-up or shipping. I believe you can also schedule a shopping appointment to visit in person. The shop has a good variety of yarns and notions, and also hosts classes. Let me start by saying, I have no idea how to knit! But my mom does, but she hasn't been knitting as much as I would have thought throughout Covid quarantine. I wanted to fix that so I contacted Shabby Sheep for help. I live 500 miles away, so I couldn't go into the shop to see colors and feel textures, but the people helping me via Facebook messenger were so helpful in getting an order together for my mom. They were very thorough in their questions and provided several pictures and options on varying price ranges so I could pick the perfect gift. When it was all said and done, we wound up with the Ireland quit which included a beautiful yarn and pattern as well as some extra yarn and needle. They even delivered it right to her door.
