St George Awning put up 2 pergolas in my backyard in 2016 and they still look wonderful. Had high…read morewinds when covid was around and one of the beams was damaged by a tree. Tyler and the office staff worked to get a new piece, it took a while, but they got it done and it's been fine since. 3 years ago, I had them install roll up screens on my patio. Again, they were great and the screens are holding up well. My only issue is that I had them installed on the inside of my patio, so the boxes would be hidden, and the birds found it to be a good hiding/nesting spot. I simply go out, talk nice and apologize telling them they need to nest elsewhere. (LOL)

I had previously identified six splices, which I wrote about in May 2025. This brings the total to 12 splices out of 42 tubes, meaning nearly 30% of the tubes have been spliced. In my view, this demonstrates a serious lack of competence. There are only two acceptable reasons for splicing tubes: first, if the required tube length cannot be obtained (which does not apply in my case), and second, if an error was made during measuring and cutting. While occasional mistakes are understandable, St George Southwest Awnings have made 12 incorrect cuts, which reflects extremely poor workmanship. This level of error suggests either gross incompetence or that insufficient material was ordered from the outset. In either case, the outcome is unacceptable. Based on my experience, these people are a disaster, and I would strongly recommend avoiding them May 2025: I had a pergola installed when I noticed a few months later that Tyler and crew spliced several tubes together. These tubes are the very first tubes to be installed and are the shortest tubes at ~15 feet. I called to discuss why these tubes were spliced when all the other tubes that are 16 to 30 feet in length are not spliced. Not sure if these spliced tubes were measured incorrectly, cut incorrectly, from another job, or something else. I was told it's a common practice to splice tubes. I mentioned it's unacceptable and makes no sense to be splicing these short tubes when you have 30 foot tubes with no splice and that I'd like to have them replaced. He sends me a bill saying it'll be $850 for material and labor. Once again I called him to discuss and I said I paid you a lot of money and that this was not installed correctly. His standard answer is that it is a common practice to splice and it's installed correctly. I mentioned I'm willing to pay for the material and wait until you have a job in my area and that there is no need for a special trip. He said he's not going to do it unless I pay and that he doesn't work for free. Be very careful.

Joe, Tyler and Danny were professional and courteous. They did a fabulous job especially when having to adapt to original design. Would use them again.

absolutely would never use this company. First, estimate was done and informed (Victor) would send…read moreit over (with no timeframe of estimate but how long in today's era of computerized programming does it take to plug in the measurements ??), then almost 2 days later no estimate. Called the office and was informed that estimate could take 5-7business days, (for an estimate?) and then later that afternoon estimate was completed for a reasonable amount compared to 2 other estimates from other companies. My concern was the timeframe of 6-10 weeks which more than the other 2 but i had verbally been informed by others that this company was good and well known. I contacted VIctor to ask about a shorter window and was told they could do 6-8 weeks and I verbally told them let"s do it. Victor said he would send over a new estimate with the updated timeframe. The next morning, I was contacted by Victor, who immediately informed me that he made a major mistake and couldn't do the job for the amount quoted. The price estimate was going to be over 11k compared to original estimate of $7500. What???? the only item that was suppose to change was timeframe and now you telling me the price has gone up 40%. i informed the sales office of my disappointment and disbelief/shock on how much of a difference it was and to offer some feedback as to why i couldn't justify paying such a large increase and would likely use another company and the office rep stated she would inform a manager or owner of my concern. Approximately 10 mins later, a project manager (i believe, don't recall his name) contacted me by phone to discuss my concerns and stated he understood my concerns but would go over the estimate and contact me back all the while saying he had spoken with Victor and was somewhat aware of the proposal and would be losing money if they did this job. I explained that I had used alumnawood product before and wanted to use their company but was really baffled by how an estimate jumps so much after a week and offering to use their product to be told they would update the proposal with new timeline only to then be informed of a big increase that was out of touch with 2 other local companies. The project manager has never returned my phone call with any sort of information regarding their proposal. Extremely poor communication and so glad to not have entered into an product/service agreement with this company that appear to have some questions regarding pricing to customers. They may do good work but at what cost to the customer. I feel their pricing is overpriced and questionable at best. I glad to have gone with another competitor and could not recommend this company with integrity being a big concern.
