I paired my meal with the Pico Loco beer, a crisp and refreshing Mexican-style lager that was perfect for the warm weather and one of my favorite styles of beer. Apparently, I was lucky enough to get the VERY LAST Bacon Pepper Jacked Burger before it comes off the menu, and honestly, it was hands down the best bar burger I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and just messy enough to let you know it was done right. My wife and I also shared the Hoppy Blues salad, which may very well have been the best "bar salad" we've ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and far beyond what you normally expect from pub food. On a Tuesday, tacosdaddyfoodtruckslc was on the scene serving a brilliant smothered burrito, albeit a bit heavy on rice but still amazing. When I asked a bartender to compare and contrasts two beers, they did so lifelessly and unconvincingly without asking me first what I preferred. It reinforced my perception that the establishment is either low on customer service or selective in the welcoming of guests. I was the oldest person in the brewery at the time and I hope that had nothing to do with it. I was also concerned with their lack of descriptions on their brews, only presenting a name on a wall. A serious and reputable brewer will attempt to communicate their beer to aficionados and this lack of information made me question their commitment to the craft. These are all management issues and given that these deficiencies were outwardly obvious, it makes me wonder what other issues I would find with a little more time here. That said, I was here once and that's enough. Edit: I read the rest of the reviews and I am so happy to learn that their bad customer service, including ignoring customers, is legendary. I got suckered in by the high rating, while failing to read the one- and two-star reviews. I love their 1st Amendment brew, and especially love that it comes in a ginormous, manly can that will slake even the meanest of beer thirsts. They have a wide selection of brews and always something seasonal that I have to try. They even have a modest line of hard seltzer, much to the delight of my wife. I do stay away from most of the ales, though, as they tend to be WAY over-hopped (or "hops forward," in the parlance); as an experienced home brewer and beer aficionado, I decry this heavy-handed use of bitter herbs, but I guess that's the preference of the younger crowd. Service is always super friendly, and if you want to take home a half-gallon bottle of whatever is on tap they can get it to you in short order. Please note that I'm only reviewing the beer store and not the tavern, as the restaurant part remains closed due to COVID restrictions.

We went on a Saturday evening around 6pm. We were excited to try the new location. Parking kind of…read moresucked but we finally found a spot. They validate by the way, so that was nice. The host was great, very friendly very personable. We original wanted to sit outside because it was a nice day but they didn't have any shade. So we sat inside. Our waitress was intentive at first. I don't like that they won't bring cold ice water. I have to go get my own water that's lukewarm. It Was very warm in there probably 80° or hotter. They had no air flow in there no air conditioning. The door to the outside seating was wide open. We were sweating and very uncomfortable. Our waitress took our drink order then came back and we told her what appetizer we wanted to start with, before we could tell her what entree we wanted she took off. We just thought okay I guess she's in a hurry so we'll just tell her our order when she comes back with the appetizer. 5 minutes later she shows up with the appetizer but then doesn't take our food order and just leaves. Then she never came back. I thought she'd at least come back to check on our drinks or see how our appetizer was tasting but no. 30 minutes later after we finished our appetizer and definitely needed another drink by then. We decided to just leave. We wanted to try a couple of different beers and get 1 Pizza each. Not a very good waitress. Plus I was already sweating to death so I couldn't wait to get out of there. Who doesn't turn on their air conditioning when it's over 80° outside?
