Stopped by for a quick beer. There is an area at bar for ordering and water station. I quick grabbed a beer and headed outside to the rooftop to enjoy the view. The rooftop area is very nice with high top tables and bar stools on the ledge. It is partly shaded with a screen. The Mountain views are great. Compared to some of the other breweries in the area, I was not made to feel entirely welcome. There were no smiles at the bar for me and it seemed as if some bartenders avoided me. After getting my last beer and finding a seat in the back, the shy bartender somehow found his courage to engage and serve other folks, so I naturally took it personally. The ambiance was nice in that it felt like an authentic brewery, not a restaurant that serves beer like some establishments closer to downtown. On a Tuesday, tacosdaddyfoodtruckslc was on the scene serving a brilliant smothered burrito, albeit a bit heavy on rice but still amazing. When I asked a bartender to compare and contrasts two beers, they did so lifelessly and unconvincingly without asking me first what I preferred. It reinforced my perception that the establishment is either low on customer service or selective in the welcoming of guests. I was the oldest person in the brewery at the time and I hope that had nothing to do with it. I was also concerned with their lack of descriptions on their brews, only presenting a name on a wall. A serious and reputable brewer will attempt to communicate their beer to aficionados and this lack of information made me question their commitment to the craft. These are all management issues and given that these deficiencies were outwardly obvious, it makes me wonder what other issues I would find with a little more time here. That said, I was here once and that's enough. Edit: I read the rest of the reviews and I am so happy to learn that their bad customer service, including ignoring customers, is legendary. I got suckered in by the high rating, while failing to read the one- and two-star reviews. I went to another brewery in the area yesterday and am off to have another there (cutting my time here short). I wish this place were better. read more

I came here for an event the other evening and it took place in their other building, which is a short walk away. Parking sucks. Small lot and on street can be hard to find. Good selection of food trucks on the weekend. Utah is an interesting place if you want a beer. By law all tap beer is 5% bag or less. In cans they will sell you anything. The layout is really cool. Main floor has 2 bars and a patio along 800 S street. Open area between the 2 enclosed bars and some picnic table round back. Big concrete stairs go up to covered (from sun, probably not rain) patio with 4 tables and 15 chairs surrounding. There is a blue storage container that appears to open, but its purpose is unclear. Scan ID at the door register, then order at the bar. No table service. This is a great spot as long as it's not too cold out. read more

This brewery has some decent IPAs and a good award winning red ale. The place has a good mixture of indoor and outdoor space..the outdoor space is very big and also has an upstairs to it too. I'm gonna be honest here. I can't remember the last time I visited a brewery with such a wide range of beers that were ALL so good. Next, some trivia: 1. True or False- Fisher Brewing was originally started in the 1800s? 2. T or F - Fisher Brewing has been open and operating since the 1800s without any closings. My first visit was at the recommendation of a local and it was a brilliant suggestion. I was impressed with every brew I had. Fast forward two years and I was the one making the recommendation and it was again, so good, my friend said we should get a second round to try and different beer. Met up with the wedding party here the day after for some hair of the dog! Plenty of street parking available outside of this spot! The interior isn't flashy or decorated, but somehow, it works perfectly for creating a casual and laid-back atmosphere to hang out with friends and catch up! There was also a patio and upstairs seating area that we didn't explore! Plenty of different sized tables to accommodate your group, grab a pint or can, and enjoy! The beertenders were incredibly friendly and quick to refill an empty glass when asked! The beers themselves were also quite delicious and refreshing! We came in while visiting SLC after deciding to just pick one brewery to go out and try. We were really glad to have landed on Fisher Brewing because of the laid back and open atmosphere, the tasty cold beers, and the cool and shaded patio outside. Walking in we were served right away at the bar. I noticed, when visiting SLC, almost every bar would immediately card us when we walked in to ensure we were of age. I am okay with this but just be ready to show your ID before being sat or ordering. As Texans we are not used to the really nice and cool weather so we opted to have our beers outside under the sun. I liked the patio as there were several open and large picnic tables to choose from. I can see hanging out here with a large group of friends. I even grabbed some free literature of Utah music and arts culture and reads to keep me occupied as we sipped on our beers. Upon reading I noticed we were at the oldest brewery in Utah that has some rich history. I was amazed we happened to land on this spot for our day drinking. Besides having to park on the street a little further down that I had wanted (we were about a block away from the entrance) this spot was easy to find and get to. While we were here we noticed there was a crew working on the patio rooftop which I am sure is beautiful to see the mountains and spend a nice sunny day on drinking some local beers. read more

Continuing with a string of Mexican Lager beers I got the Cerveza. Not a bad Mexican Lager at all but not quite enough to push it over to five stars. The flavor features with this beer is lime, citrusy and a clean aftertaste. The brewery itself seems very popular! Lots of people here the night I went and it took a little bit of effort to find a spot with a enough clearing to hang out and enjoy my beer. The set up here us cool though and designed to take lots of customers but I am of the sort that likes more quieter and intimate places but still it was a good experience! read more

A few things to say about this place let's start with that which is really good. I have a real fondness for beer that goes down smoothly. This is really well crafted beer and it goes down very smoothly. It's one of the best drinking experiences I've ever had that is this available where you can just walk in andhave a really high expectation that is fulfilled every time. The crowd is great' very friendly and attractive. I basically go out once a week for a beer at the end of a tough day. There's always one in each week at least right? I don't think that there's ever been in time when somebody has not in a really friendly way and without sexual pressure engaged in a conversation that wasn't totally nonsensical. I appreciate the beer and the crowd. Thirdly, They have this thing going with food trucks, which I really love. If you were to ask me if I were gonna become a fan of eating at food trucks, I would have laughed you out out of the room only a year ago. As a compliment to the beer, they have a different food truck out there every day sometimes two and some of these establishments on wheels produce some really great food. It's a feather in their cap so there's a lot to love here. However, I don't know if it's the owner or the manager, but I've seen him publicly eviscerate the owners or workers the food truck before because they forgot to bring things like straws or napkins with them. Look if that's not a cost that you want to incur and I can see where you're coming from maybe have a conversation with them not in public. It does not do your client any good to watch you dehumanize somebody head to toe and go stamping off back into the brewery. Both times I've seen it happen. It kept me away for a little while I mean, talk about a little black raincloud hovering over and otherwise great experience... That's the only thing I have to say. read more

Great vibes every time I come here. I love love love their space, a big bar area and lots of large tables to share. Their patio space is also lovely and great for *almost* all seasons. In the colder months they put space heaters out and they actually do provide quite a bit of heat. This is my go to spot to bring out of state guests, because the space is so inviting and the people here are always kind. I personally am not a huge beer drinker, but I love to come here when they have some lighter beers like hefeweizens, sours, etc. on the menu. I recently tried their Lemonade Stand sour and really enjoyed it - it wasn't too sour/acid and was pretty light, and a pretty pinkish color. They rotate their beers fairly frequently and it's fun to see what they've added to the menu. Last time I was here they had a local seltzer from another brewery on tap as well. Their merch is some of my favorite brewery merch of all time, and their store has expanded over the years as the brewery has grown. The community that this local spot has attracted is one of its best qualities. The bartenders are wonderful, the people who are here always have a great vibe. They typically have a food truck outside featuring a different local food truck every day of the week for lunch and dinner and you can bring the food inside the brewery and enjoy a beer while you eat. I was here during a weekday afternoon recently and people were hanging out and doing work, which I'd never thought to do before! It's a really great atmosphere. read more

Every sour I've tried prior to Fisher's just tasted like a fruity beer. I'm so glad I found one. They are perfect for a summer day. Aside from the sour, the atmosphere was great. I went on a Sunday afternoon. There was plenty of seating in and out. It looked like there were regulars parked at the bar. If you're hungry, they have a food truck parked outside. Service seemed relatively quick. I'm not sure about street parking, but there were plenty of spots to lock your bicycle up right in front of the place. Very cool local spot with a lot of character. The staff is very friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a crowd at the counter but they are very quick. Outdoor seating is available and dog friendly. I got a few stickers (the fisher logo is really cool) and a growler to go back with me to California. This place is awesome! You will need to park on the streets. Beers are super tasty here and at a good price! $1 a sample flight, $3 for 10oz and $5 for a pint 16oz. Can't beat these prices! If you want food or snacks you will need to order from their food truck right out in front. You can bring the food inside to eat, but cannot bring your beers out to the front. They do have a back area for you to chill, eat, and drink. read more

Really wanted to like this place. The fifth brewery I visited during my most-recent SLC stay, and this place just disappointed. The space is gorgeous, and the beer isn't bad, but the ambience and staff are pretty terrible - along with the fact that they do nothing to combat the flies in their establishment - they're literally everywhere. The "bartenders" were obnoxiously screaming and laughing with their friends (I assume because why would you act that way with patrons) so loudly that I had to put on headphones just to drown them out. Getting their attention to ask for a beer was like pulling teeth. Hire people that want to actually provide good service, put in fly traps and those doorway fans to stop flies from getting in, and then people might actually enjoy coming here. Won't be coming back here, as there are far better options very nearby. read more

What a bunch of phony reviews on this thread. Guaranteed they got a free beer or discount to write a good review. This place is horrible. I went for a company party. My company rented out the entire back patio area. Some creep with a red hat and man bun kicked out my co-worker for vaping, outside. This server made a scene in front of our entire department. They could have just asked him to move over. Another co-worker of mine got cut off at the bar for no reason at all. He was socializing, being respectful and minding his own business. You can double fist 2 beers at a time but if you have mixed drinks they put a target on your back. And police you. It's almost like the staff go out of their way to be rude, and disrespect customers. They ego trip and harass people. If you want to be spoken down too and deal with condescending servers...go to this dumpster fire. Needless to say our company is going to find another venue in the future. read more
