Stayed overnight as part of Harvest Host and stopped in for a drink after dinner (since it's a bar, 21+ only). Our bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and area. Plenty of seating with the World Cup game playing on a projector. Also due to UT law, all drinks on tap were 5%. If you wanted something stronger, pick something in a can. Decided on the Grid City Ginger Berry Seltzer, which was refreshing and had a strong ginger taste (couldn't taste the berry). Also tried some of the Dorthy Disco (canned), which was pretty good. Went to Saltfire for trivia night. I liked the clean atmosphere and it's cool to see the brewery in the back. They do not have food so don't go hungry. My trivia group orders food when we go places as none of us drink. We were told by the bartender that if we don't order we would be asked to leave to make room for people that would be drinking. Understandable but frustrating as there were no people standing around or waiting to be seated. There were other tables open. We ordered the $8 canned lemonade to stay. We had a lovely evening drinking beer and playing card games and I could see myself gravitating back in an area where you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a brewery. It was nice to get a few pints on tap. I just would have liked a tap section of the menu because I'm lazy that way. Had food truck burgers and some other folks were offered ketchup but we were not (mini tear). We appreciated very much the heads up about the price of the sour before we ordered it. That was kind. An unexpected treat especially with the style of beer we were drinking involving SaltFire. I have said before in my reviews how picky I am with New England IPA's and what part of the country they are coming from and of course what brewery makes them. The Summer Camp Crush made by SaltFire has been one of my favorite New England IPA's since I first discovered them and drinking them often... which is right around when the pandemic started. This IPA had all the citrus, juicy, bitter flavor features one should see with a good New England IPA and the hazines in appearance is important too. This wonderful beer laid out a very pleasurable unfolding of complexity and uniqueness which is what I'm always searching for for what I think makes up a good craft beer. You can go ahead and scratch off every other brewery in Utah off your list. Saltfire is the only one you need to go to. Real craft at its finest, something for everyone, and drumroll... Beer over 4%!! The tasting room is adjacent to the brewery. The ambience is clean and cool, without being snooty. The beer tender, Alec, was super friendly, and full of knowledge. I loved his recommendations about which beers to taste, and which beers to get a full bottle of. The bar Isn't just a beauty to look at, it's a highly functional charging system. there is a wireless charging under each seat. So you can just take your phone cover off set it down and it charges! Genius! So in my brewery travels across Utah, I found that most of them don't serve beers over 4%. Even if they make the beer over 4% (which is also rare), you can't try it before buying a bottle. This is why I like salt fire. You can taste every single bottle they have for sale. Keeping up with all the other craft beer industries in America. Not only that but you can tell that the Brewers are in it with their hearts, and their taste buds. The beers are simply amazing. With enough money, Anyone can brew beer and sell it. We visited Saltfire Brewing last week. The place was clean and inviting. The bartender, Steph, welcomed us and was very knowledgeable about the wide array of beers. We tried a couple beers which were amazing. There is a nice selection of items for purchase so we picked up some gloves a tshirt and a hat. The bartender helped me pick out some take home beers which there was a lot to choose from. Overall the prices are affordable, location is great easy in and out and the beer is fantastic! If you want to sit at a bar with a cat walking across your silverware and food, this is a great place to go! The staff says the cat is theirs and is great for controlling their mice problem so I suppose I can be grateful that the cat didn't bring any dead mice out to display as it's trophy. I'm personally not an IPA person, but I would definitely order these again, especially the dirty chai stout and Saison. We came, we drank while eating wonderful food from Tacos Garay. Like Epic, they really specialize in high gravity beer. It was an inviting space, and a bartender and employees we really enjoyed getting to know on a Sunday lunchtime visit. They are doing some really interesting styles. Each month the son and I visit breweries while the wives are at lunch. It's shown up the huge diversity, breadth, and depth we now have in SLC. Each one has to carve out a niche. Asked for a replacement canned cider for one that tasted like it had been sitting around for a year, and the new one tasted fine. The bartender came to our table after and said it was against Utah law to do that and she had to charge us for it. Maybe say that beforehand? So Utah has a 5% beer ABV rule from the tap but you can put whatever in a can. This brewery, basically did not have anything of their brewery on tap. We were told all the taps are guest taps but their stuff comes from the can. That's cool and it's goofy at the same time meaning you can get higher ABV booze but it's coming out of a can which you're likely getting charged more for and have no idea when it was actually canned. Hmmm. Tender was cool and fast. Merch was okay. I just don't love the idea of going to a brewery and drinking their stuff from a can and paying more. In CA, if you're pouring from a can it never costs more than from the tap, which makes absolute perfect sense. I can't give positive reviews for businesses hustling customers. Owner had some snark comments on another review platform so, they go from 3 stars to 1. Anything owner wants to add on here, I'll update accordingly. DM me for clarification. read more

Welp, I just found my new favorite SLC beer. I was doing the Tour de Brewtah and hitting a few extra stops than provided in my "tour", and Salt Fire happened to be along the way. This was always a brewery I wanted to try, especially because of the adorable logo, bottle labels, and tasty sounding beer.. and I finally had a reason to! After doing a quick looksie at their brews - I knew the one I wanted immediately: their mango + blood orange saison. Wat. It was amazing. Seriously my new favorite beer in SLC. I tried sips of my friend's as well - Charlotte Sometimes, and that was super tasty as well. This isn't a place that has beers on tap - you're buying and drinking per bottle. It's a smaller little place, but it's cute. Bottles to take and go were not that expensive $5 or so, and their stemless beer glasses are my favorite. Everything goes in it now. I had one beer here and it was good. This gets 2 stars from me as the lady behind the bar, working on Saturday 11/21/20 at 2pm, charged me for 2 drinks that I didn't order. She tried to claim the extra charges were because if you drink beers there, rather than taking them to-go, it's extra. We just stopped by on a random visit to see the new kid on the block. Every time we are in the SLC we try to visit a brewery. They were still in a state of construction and not secured their alcohol permit yet. We could taste a flight of beer from bottles. The selection we tasted was very nice brews. One of the best breweries in Salt Lake. SaltFire consistently has great beer and always has staff who is knowledgable about it. By contrast, I've found a handful of breweries that seem to hire beertenders who aren't passionate about beer and aren't trained on their products. SaltFire's staff has always been pleasant to myself and who I bring along. They play great music, and have a laid back and welcoming atmosphere. 10/10 read more

I was excited to visit another new SLC brewery. Based on the friendly service, cool taproom (still under construction) and the delicious beer, I feel this is a great addition to Utah. Regarding the service: the two guys I spoke with were passionate about their beer and very good with their recommendations. They were happy to 'talk shop' and I enjoy that. The taproom is coming along nicely and I like they are going with wood Barrel table set up. I feel like it works; especially with their fermenters in sight. For the most important item, the beer, that's where SaltFire shines. I tried their Dirty Chai Stout and 12 Monkeys Double IPA. I was impressed with the stout because I feel all the flavors work together to make something good to drink. The 12 Monkeys IPA is fantastic! Easily one of the best IPA's I've had in Utah.
