Chappell was recommended to us by another local, and I'm glad we stopped in. The gentleman working there was very knowledgeable and welcoming--he took the time to share a lot about Salt Lake City. The brewery had a nice, comfortable vibe, with clean and well-maintained bathrooms, a good outdoor seating area, and even a little swag shop. As an extra touch, he threw in a few bonus stickers with our purchase, which was a nice surprise. Overall, Chappell Brewery itself is definitely worth a visit.

Great spot in South Salt Lake. Plenty of indoor seating (an a solid big screen) to go with super solid beers and other guest beverages. The house brewed options are heating up, and the wine/slush/non-alcoholic offerings make for a welcoming sipping spot. Great to finally visit!

Cute brewery in south SLC. I visited during St. Patrick's Day weekend, so they had a few specials going on. I had the crispy boi which was a light ale and the only beer they were turning green, but it was on special for $3 and totally worth it. It was light and crisp and easy to drink! The beer selection is limited, but it is labeled micro brewery so that makes sense. They do have a couple N/A options as well! There's 4 large picnic style tables inside and the same outside. The place is clean and comfortable and would be great in the warmer months. Food appeared to be available as the staff were grilling up fresh hamburgers and hot dogs outside, but my party just stuck with beer. There's a few cards games available to play while enjoying your beer and they also do trivia on Thursday night as well as a few other weeknight specials. The outside patio is dog friendly so bring your fuzzy besties along.

I feel like I need to add a PSA that they have seltzer slushies here! And they're delicious! They change up the flavors every day I believe, so they always have a different flavor. They had a tropical one when I went over the weekend - I think it had pineapple, coconut, and maybe guava? I can't remember what exactly was in it but it was delicious and so refreshing during the summer. I didn't notice this the last time I was here but they have a bunch of games here too over by their couch area! This is a great place to come with a group to hang out and play games. It looks like they added some more shade to their outdoor patio as well.

Stopped by on opening day and was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful this brewery is and how tasty the beers were! At the moment they only have three on but I'm excited to see them expand! Cheers!

I came here for an event the other evening and it took place in their other building, which is a short walk away. After getting my last beer and finding a seat in the back, the shy bartender somehow found his courage to engage and serve other folks, so I naturally took it personally. The ambiance was nice in that it felt like an authentic brewery, not a restaurant that serves beer like some establishments closer to downtown. On a Tuesday, tacosdaddyfoodtruckslc was on the scene serving a brilliant smothered burrito, albeit a bit heavy on rice but still amazing. When I asked a bartender to compare and contrasts two beers, they did so lifelessly and unconvincingly without asking me first what I preferred. It reinforced my perception that the establishment is either low on customer service or selective in the welcoming of guests. I was the oldest person in the brewery at the time and I hope that had nothing to do with it. I was also concerned with their lack of descriptions on their brews, only presenting a name on a wall. A serious and reputable brewer will attempt to communicate their beer to aficionados and this lack of information made me question their commitment to the craft. These are all management issues and given that these deficiencies were outwardly obvious, it makes me wonder what other issues I would find with a little more time here. That said, I was here once and that's enough. Edit: I read the rest of the reviews and I am so happy to learn that their bad customer service, including ignoring customers, is legendary. I got suckered in by the high rating, while failing to read the one- and two-star reviews. I went to another brewery in the area yesterday and am off to have another there (cutting my time here short). I wish this place were better.

The host was great, very friendly very personable. We original wanted to sit outside because it was a nice day but they didn't have any shade. So we sat inside. Our waitress was intentive at first. I don't like that they won't bring cold ice water. I have to go get my own water that's lukewarm. It Was very warm in there probably 80° or hotter. They had no air flow in there no air conditioning. The door to the outside seating was wide open. We were sweating and very uncomfortable. Our waitress took our drink order then came back and we told her what appetizer we wanted to start with, before we could tell her what entree we wanted she took off. We just thought okay I guess she's in a hurry so we'll just tell her our order when she comes back with the appetizer. 5 minutes later she shows up with the appetizer but then doesn't take our food order and just leaves. Then she never came back. I thought she'd at least come back to check on our drinks or see how our appetizer was tasting but no. 30 minutes later after we finished our appetizer and definitely needed another drink by then. We decided to just leave. We wanted to try a couple of different beers and get 1 Pizza each. Not a very good waitress. Plus I was already sweating to death so I couldn't wait to get out of there. Who doesn't turn on their air conditioning when it's over 80° outside?

Aside from the top notch customer service, the food was basically our dream lunch. Diet Coke on the rocks, a wedge salad with blue cheese dressing, and a shareable oven-fired pizza. We ordered Josh's recommendation of the Jalapeño Popper pizza, and holy smokes, it was phenomenal. I'd argue Level Crossing has some of the best pizza in the area for the value. Keep it up!!

Ordering was kind of confusing because you had to wait in line instead of just walking up to the bar. One of the bartenders quickly explained it to us so we got in line. The line moved very quickly. Once we ordered our first beers, we sat at the bar and our bartender then took the rest of our orders while seated there. It seemed like once you ordered and established your seats, you could get waited on at your table but you had to order through the line first. There were 3 or 4 bartenders covering the bar and all the various seating areas. Our bartender was very attentive and we never had empty glasses before she was asking if we wanted another round. There was one time where she got side tracked and there was a very slight delay in bringing the next round for my wife and she profusely apologized and comped that round, but we didn't even notice the delay, to be honest. All the beers were great and the handmade pretzel from a place down the street was delicious. The tasting notes on their menu were spot on for the 5 or 6 beers we tried. They have a lot of seating in the main area and large patio in the back that were both pretty crowded, which is why we sat at the bar. We later found out about their "barrel room" that is in the back behind all the brewing equipment. One of the bar backs said it was a more laidback and quiet area. We peaked back there before we left and had we known about it, we would have sat back there because it's exactly like how it was described. Even with the large crowd we had a great time and it never seemed crowded with the speed of service we got.

Got a couple schnitts thinking i could quickly chug a couple beers before my flight since it is half oven and half liquid. However, it was quite a hefty poor and very enjoyable. I got the kolsch and helles lager and both were easy and crushable. Very delicious and clean. Also got a taster of the Pilsner and that was as well easily crushable and clean. The german beers here are one of the best and phenomenal. I can't get enough. The IPA is here are solid as well. Great vibes has TV with sports and a lot of seating and outdoors as well. The only issue I have unfortunately at this visit was I was trying to grab a glass to take home with me. However, there was a huge line for people to get carded so the front desk guy wanted to card them in first. That was understandable as that created a huge line and backed up the front door. However, someone came behind me with cans so he let them pay first and by the time they finish paying, more people were coming in to get carded. He decided to card them instead of letting me purchase a glass . So at that time I had just left instead of waiting for the continuous cycle of getting carded I'm having to further wait. Hopefully when things are busy, they will have someone to help out carting people in. Otherwise fantastic brewery.
