It would have been nice if he had started with "we are going to start by going upriver and looking for the manatee. When we get there, look for ______. Then we will go to the marsh creeks and look for birds such as ______, _____, and ______. We will then cross the channel and see if we can spot the bonnet-head sharks." We went and did all of these things, but it would have been nice to have an introduction in advance so that we could have anticipated our experience and been better able to ask good questions. The bad - Due to a failure of the owner, Jamie, to check the time of sunrise, she scheduled our tour to begin before sunrise which is not permitted. She also told us to arrive a little early to fit PFDs. The result was that my wife and I were waiting in the dark for 40 minutes before our guide arrived. Very unprofessional! What were we offered for the inconvenience of our wait in the dark? Half off? Twenty percent refund? Nope! Just two hollow sounding apologies where both David and Jamie tried to lay the blame on the other. As a frequent traveller who tries to pack in as much as possible during a vacation, I recommend to all of my fellow outdoor lovers to go with the competition who hopefully will value your time more than Turtle Tides apparently does.

We were able to get up close and personal to the airport and see and hear the planes take off right over our heads-very cool! We did ask for a map twice after reading that there are twenty miles of bike paths and they explained that the "bike paths" are sidewalks throughout the island. While that may be the case, it would have been nice to have a paper guide or app to show us the different options. You could ride on the beach, in parks through neighborhoods, etc. but it would have been nice to have an idea of which way to go depending on what we wanted to see. Overall, I highly recommend biking as a beautiful way to see the island!

Rented 2 umbrellas for 5 days, and we had an issue 3 of the 5 days!…read more Day 1 - delivered fine - called to add a 3rd umbrella for 2 days of our stay. Day 2- no umbrellas were delivered - when I reached out, they insisted they WERE delivered and I must just not be seeing them. Ends up their staff delivered to the wrong condo complex - they eventually delivered them to us around noon. Day 3- no issues Day 4 - delivered 2 umbrellas, but failed to deliver 3rd - when we inquired, they said they failed to add it to our reservation and would include it the next day for free. Day 5 - 0 umbrellas delivered. When we realized it, it was after 11am and I was told they didn't have any staff to bring umbrellas out. After several phone calls and texts, they agreed to provide a refund for day 5 + a discount code for future rentals. Three weeks later, I have not received either one. I've given them a chance to make it right, but so far they haven't delivered. Would not rent again.

I didn't even complain about the broken chair that we had all week or the one day our stuff wasn't set up until 11:30. Do yourself a favor and just bring your own chairs.
