    Classic breakfast

This was the closest place to our hotel, so we decided to give it a shot. What can I say, it definitely has that old-school truck stop vibe! The service was fantastic and the food was great. We ate breakfast before getting back on the road. I'm glad we decided to eat here. An overall great experience.

Stopped here on our way to Orange beach. We got on the road early so thankfully they were open early. Waitress was super friendly. Restaurant was very clean. Love a good truck too diner. Food was fantastic. Great, unique place to stop. Prices were fair.

Shady Lawn Truck Stop (Shell) This is a great place to stop for gas, bathroom and snacks. There is a huge metal chicken out front to welcome you as you pull in. The bathrooms were very clean and updated. There is a place to sit down and eat inside.

#48-2021 new ownership stay oil company that has different locations throughout Southern Tennessee now owns the shady lawn. there's been a few changes but not really a whole lot the most noticeable when you first walk in is there wearing Chevron uniforms now also on the restaurant no more of the classic shady lawn truck stop shirts with the chicken on the front. chapel has been removed from the back because it was not owned by this current owner it was owned by the previous owner so they moved it out it's gone. it's still the same old building the shop is no longer used either so if you need repairs you have to call a different facility. it still fills up very quickly in the early evening got to get here and get you a parking spot or you're going to be screwed. as far as the restaurant goes they have an upgraded menu I looked at what I had my favorite one of the old standbys grill tenderloin and eggs had it again and I noticed it went up by a buck no big deal in 9 months. they did remove the boots and now have strictly tables a lot of changes since post covid. as of this writing of the 31st of March 2021 there's only two days a week they closed the restaurant at night due to the limited staffing hoping to get everything back again to the 24/7/365. truck stop itself is still open all the time. restaurant was nice and clean and of course to tenderloin was fantastic, two eggs over medium white toast hash browns no doubt about it. Many of old staff are still here too. still have the Charlie big's Chicken Express. but all in all food was good definitely a good breakfast spot as you can still see by the crowd even with the locals too along with the travelers and truckers.

Got gas. Service was good. If in the area I'd come back here. Associates were friendly.

The big chicken never disappoints. I had pork chops, mashed potatoes and green beans. Excellent food . Been stopping here since 1987

Went here for the lore of it all. This place is huge. Is it a gas station or a grocery store or a…read moremall? The answer is yes. Their marketing is too notch, I don't think it's possible to walk out of there without some sort of souvenir. It's well lit. They have Buc-ee's children's books, Buc-ee's swimsuits, Buc-ee's everything. I walked out with an assortment box of fudge, cotton candy-watermelon,strawberry banana, and regular. Watermelon one taste like it was made with the baby bottle pop watermelon dip power-amazing. The strawberry banana actually tasted like individual flavors coming together the banana flavor imitated the banana laffy taffy I was impressed, and they were like only $2. They have rock candy suckers here! You don't see those everywhere, they feel like a cannon event. I noticed they have a huge deli Jekry style. A whole bakery fudge style. And the people that work there in cowboy hats which I thought was really cute. Was it worth the hype? Sure. Be prepared to spend at least an hour on your port break during a road trip. The view at the pump is beautiful as are most views in Tennessee. Saw some things I've never seen before even in the checkout line, energy packs that look like zyns. And specialty mints in interesting flavors.

This is my first and possibly last Bucee's experience…read more Outside: YES--Cheapest gas--a full $0.70 cheaper than any other stations along the highway!!! That alone was worth the stop, but the rest of the experience was less than expected. By the pumps, there are no windshield washer squeegees anywhere, so you cannot clean the bugs off of your windshield. The pay-at-the-pump interface was frustrating. It would not accept my Discover card. I used my Visa, and it locked into selling me only 15 gallons. The only great part of the refueling experience was the price and the zero wait for a pump because they have so many of them. Also, this location has a car wash, and the purchase option was imbedded in the gas purchase--I didn't want it, but accidentally got it. I guess that would be one way to clean the windows, but be aware as you're trying to buy gas. Inside: The inside is huge. It's like someone took a Walmart and placed restrooms and food kiosks in the center of it. The women's bathroom was awesomely clean. It's huge with individual doored stall-rooms along the walls with green (open) and red (busy) lights above the door, so you can quickly find a stall that's open. The entire center of the bathroom is full of sinks/soap/paper towels. It was spotlessly clean and the highlight of the whole experience. Food: Having seen another Yelp review, we got 2 XXL BBQ Brisket sandwiches and Buc-ee's chips and 2 $0.99 fountain drinks. We also picked up a small bag of chocolate covered pretzels. That lunch cost us $41, and there was nowhere to sit to eat it. The expectation is that you go back out to your car to eat. After being in the car for 6 hours, I didn't want to eat in the car, so we found a lamppost in the shade that we used as a "table" and stood to eat. Service: Everyone working at this location was helpful and friendly, so the service is great. Recommendation: If you are looking for a clean bathroom and cheaper gas--this is an awesome place to stop!! Of course, the cheaper gas price is how they draw you in, then they make up the loss in inside sales, especially food. There are many food choices, which is also good, as long as you intend to eat in the car. If you get the BBQ sandwich, I would get the one without the sauce.
