Went here for the lore of it all. This place is huge. Is it a gas station or a grocery store or a mall? The answer is yes. Their marketing is too notch, I don't think it's possible to walk out of there without some sort of souvenir. It's well lit. They have Buc-ee's children's books, Buc-ee's swimsuits, Buc-ee's everything. I walked out with an assortment box of fudge, cotton candy-watermelon,strawberry banana, and regular. Watermelon one taste like it was made with the baby bottle pop watermelon dip power-amazing. The strawberry banana actually tasted like individual flavors coming together the banana flavor imitated the banana laffy taffy I was impressed, and they were like only $2. They have rock candy suckers here! You don't see those everywhere, they feel like a cannon event. I noticed they have a huge deli Jekry style. A whole bakery fudge style. And the people that work there in cowboy hats which I thought was really cute. Was it worth the hype? Sure. Be prepared to spend at least an hour on your port break during a road trip. The view at the pump is beautiful as are most views in Tennessee. Saw some things I've never seen before even in the checkout line, energy packs that look like zyns. This is my first and possibly last Bucee's experience. Outside: YES--Cheapest gas--a full $0.70 cheaper than any other stations along the highway!!! That alone was worth the stop, but the rest of the experience was less than expected. By the pumps, there are no windshield washer squeegees anywhere, so you cannot clean the bugs off of your windshield. The pay-at-the-pump interface was frustrating. It would not accept my Discover card. I used my Visa, and it locked into selling me only 15 gallons. The only great part of the refueling experience was the price and the zero wait for a pump because they have so many of them. Also, this location has a car wash, and the purchase option was imbedded in the gas purchase--I didn't want it, but accidentally got it. I guess that would be one way to clean the windows, but be aware as you're trying to buy gas. Inside: The inside is huge. It's like someone took a Walmart and placed restrooms and food kiosks in the center of it. The women's bathroom was awesomely clean. It's huge with individual doored stall-rooms along the walls with green (open) and red (busy) lights above the door, so you can quickly find a stall that's open. The entire center of the bathroom is full of sinks/soap/paper towels. It was spotlessly clean and the highlight of the whole experience. Food: Having seen another Yelp review, we got 2 XXL BBQ Brisket sandwiches and Buc-ee's chips and 2 $0.99 fountain drinks. We also picked up a small bag of chocolate covered pretzels. That lunch cost us $41, and there was nowhere to sit to eat it. The expectation is that you go back out to your car to eat. After being in the car for 6 hours, I didn't want to eat in the car, so we found a lamppost in the shade that we used as a "table" and stood to eat. Service: Everyone working at this location was helpful and friendly, so the service is great. Recommendation: If you are looking for a clean bathroom and cheaper gas--this is an awesome place to stop!! Of course, the cheaper gas price is how they draw you in, then they make up the loss in inside sales, especially food. There are many food choices, which is also good, as long as you intend to eat in the car. If you get the BBQ sandwich, I would get the one without the sauce. read more

Very happy to find this Buc-ee's location when traveling through on 1-65. We had planned to stop for a quick break and a snack, but I noticed that the gas price was the cheapest we had seen on our trip. So I decided to fill up the gas tank as well. Employees were super friendly. I was able to quickly find the items I needed along with a couple of impulse purchases. But who can leave Buc-cee's without at least one beaver souvenir? These guys are known for their delicious barbecue, they're fantastic tortillas and fajitas, and tasty candies. Every time we stop here we got to get something , and the price for gas is just right. The only problem we have is that people leave their cars parked at the gas station. They're a lot of gas station stops but we could get more cars through there people would guess up and move on and set up keep their cars there, go in and then shop. read more

I wasn't knowing about Buc ee's, but my daughter was hell bent on going since we were already down south, so we diverted our path a little. What an experience. First timer! Was in the area visiting family and was so excited to finally step into one after seeing videos on social media. I was like a kid in a candy store, so much to see and shop for. I always love stopping at Buc-ee's, and the Athens, Alabama location did not disappoint. This time I tried their pulled pork mac and cheese and wow... it was so good. The mac was creamy, the pulled pork was flavorful, and grabbing a cup of their BBQ sauce took it to the next level. Buc-ee's is always clean, fast, and stocked with everything you could possibly want for a road trip, but the food alone makes it worth the stop. This car stops at all Buc-ees. Even it's for gas and a bathroom break. Gas was $2.49 but if you got the works car wash they take $1.00 off gas. Car wash was $16.00 so actually we paid $4.00for it. It took 5 minutes to go through it. It does a good job soap 3 different times and brushes rinse, and wax and dry. You can also get the tire cleaner and the vacuum for free. Also, there's a machine that does your mats. Also a brush for them darn bugs. That was all at the Athens, Alabama location. No food this time but I did get a wine tag that that I'm going to use for a Christmas ornament. I think the quality of the food and merchandise is outstanding. read more

I get so excited seeing the Buc-ee's signs on the highway. They've got some good jokes. Marketing team is on it. It's a hybrid of the Cracker Barrel store, barbeque window, gas station, circus. What do you come to Buc-ee's for? Here is my ranked list of Why: 1. Clean bathrooms. Simply put. Always a stall open, always TP, much cleaner than surrounding gas station bathrooms. 2. Kitsch. It's kitschy, you come here to buy something with the strange beaver logo, prolong an already long road trip, giggle about the "wine mom" dish towels, dissociate in an aisle of baby swimsuits, etc.. 3. Food options for everybody. Barbeque, burritos, chicken sandwiches, banana pudding, candy, chips, hot nuts. They serve up some good food here. Hard to argue. What's next? Sushi? 4. Last minute hostess gifts. Every time I drive up to Nashville, I stop and get a bag of the beaver nuggets. They're the perfect gift for my host, like a combination of Cracker Jacks and sweet puff Cheetos. read more

The car wash is currently $16, BUT, it's the size of 4 or 5 car washes together and my car ends up spotless. It's a great value for the money. Buc-ee's is still the best place to visit for one stop bathroom, gas, food, & drink when you're traveling. I recommend you get some gas, park the car, use the restroom, then get a soft drink or coffee drink to carry while you shop. Do your shopping, refill your drink, grab some food to go, then pay. So many great things to see and do in this store! I enjoy shopping the hot sauces, the jerky, and the fishing shirts. We stopped at Bucees in Athens on the way home from Nashville to see what all the hype is about. First of all, I would love to meet their original marketing team because they have established a brand that it seems like the entire south knows about and worships! Second of all, this place is like a city in the middle of no where. I question what makes it any different than a Loves or Flying J? To me, when I'm on a roadtrip, any mega gas station where I can get gas, a snack and use the restroom will do. There were hundreds of people there when we went, but even with hundreds of people the place was clean, and we were able to get gas and grab our snacks quickly. Not only are the employees very helpful and kind, but I have never seen this place dirty. Considering the amount of people that come through everyday Bucees is not only a gas station mogul but an anomaly. They always have many items stocked and cooked fresh and of course we can't forget about the gas pumps. The only complaint... yes I said complaint, oof, is their coffee... no bueno. I have gotten it on multiple occasions and it does not hit. The first Bucee's we have visited on our recent trip to the south. My husband and I stopped by here and ended up purchasing a few things that includes: Chunk Brisket Sandwich, $12.99- Although more expensive than some of the other barbecue sandwiches, this one was so tender and flavorful. And this sandwich does not skimp on the meat. There is also plenty of barbecue but I wouldn't say it was so much that I couldn't taste the meat. I felt that the bun was perfect in holding up to the filling too. Bucee's Nugee's, $3.98 prior to tax- I got the white cheddar flavor and love these snacks. They remind me of cheese curds. Bucee's Pretzel Garlic Parmesan, $2.98 prior to tax- I haven't opened these to try them yet and am deciding whether I should bring them back home in Los Angeles for family to try or not. Pet shirt, $9.98 prior to tax. Shown is size medium- There is both a red and black shirt that is available in the pet section. There are also sweaters as well. But based on the size (please note that the sizing on the sizing chart is way off), we ended up purchasing a black shirt since this was the only one available in medium. The shirt if 65% polyester and the rest is cotton (it washes well too and hasn't shrunk). The shirt itself is pretty thin though, just for those curious. Cinnamon Roll, $3.49 prior to tax- Sadly we didn't get to try this because my husband got water all over it in our cooler and had to toss it :( But the size of the cinnamon is huge and the price is pretty affordable. Gasoline for the car Service was very friendly at the register. Please note that if you pay with a gift card for the gasoline, you have to go inside since the card reader does not take gift cards. When you do go inside, you have to let the employee know how much you want to put on the gift card. And if you use less than what you told the employee, then you will have to wait until the hold is done before you can spend the rest of the remaining gift card money. That is what happened to us and the employee told us that the hold can be 10 minutes to a few hours. He said it just depends on the system (which wasn't a problem with us since we still have plans to visit another Bucee's in the near future to use up the rest of my gift card funds). Overall, another great and positive visit at Bucee's and will continue visiting Bucee's when I am visiting a state that has one. read more

Very nice Bucee's! Stopped here coming and going. Got food both times. We tried the pork sandwiches which are huge! They were pretty good but probably wouldn't get them again. The fudge was delicious. Bathrooms are very clean. On the way home we decided to try the car wash. You get a discount on gas if you buy a car wash. The car wash was impressive! Just a few weeks ago I had never been to a Buc ee's! I ended up stopped here going/coming from the Gulf Coast. My friend had never been to one so of course it was a must stop! The 100 gas pumps always blows my mind. It was a little hectic at the pumps but I muddled through. Just remember where you park because the store is so huge. A glorified supersized connivence store and block long gas stalls. That was our first impressions while visiting the Athens, AL Buc-ees. I was enamored with the world's longest car wash. Couldn't get a picture of it all in one shot. We did not purchase anything except for food items. Forgot to visit the world's cleanest washroom but have a feeling we may stop back on our way north. We thought we would each purchase a sandwich for lunch and one for dinner. We purchased a big chopped brisket bbq sandwich. We also had a sausage on a stick that had a flour tortilla wrapped around it that we each had a bite of. We had wished we had put some ketsup and mustard on it before checking out. That was one bad ass brisket sandwich-best we e ever had. We brought back to the hotel with us a bbq turkey and bbq 3 meat sandwiches (sausage, brisket and turkey) jsandwiches, beaver chips, banana pudding, chocolate chip cookie, pecan praline and a small peanut log. We picked at the 3 meat sandwiches-it was loaded and the bun was falling apart so messy to eat. The next morning I ate the bbq turkey sandwich which was delicious. Thick slices of turkey with a drizzle of bbq sauce on a bun. We snacked on the other stuff as a lunch while traveling.
