The gift shop is a "must see" before or after you visit the Shady Maple Smorgasbord. We purchased our lunch tickets and visited the gift shop while waiting for our other guest. Sign up for the free shopper card. You earn points in the gift shop and restaurant. A cashier told me that you get more "bang for your buck" if you spend the credit earned in the gift shop. The gift shop is huge. There are two entrances. Make a plan to meet your family before you go downstairs. We had spotty cell service and could only text in the gift shop. There are so many items available. This is a perfect place to Christmas shop and buy gifts for everyone. Every category and price point is covered. I bought charms for $1 with names and inspirational words. There were toys, games, doll houses & furniture, clocks, sayings, clothes, sports items covering the surrounding states/teams, slippers, T-shirts and many things for pet lovers. There was a beautiful quilt area with hand crafted blankets, covers, place mats and so much more. From giant light house statues to tiny smooth gem rocks, this place has you covered! After eyeing this place for a long time, we finally got the chance to stop on a return trip to Pittsburgh from New Jersey. I first learned of Shady Maple from a video online, and have wanted to stop for a few years. Our travels lined up with their hours, and we were able to stop on a Tuesday evening about a month ago. I did not realize the restaurant also had a gift shop, so we made a quick visit after finishing a meal at the buffet. Wow - this gift shop is huge! You could spend hours in here shopping around. There was all kinds of things, from t-shirts, other clothing, collectibles, and Shady Maple specific merchandise. The shop was closing at 8, and I did not get down there until about 10 minutes before the close, but I would've spent a good amount of time looking around otherwise. The staff were all very kind, and provided great service. They asked if I needed anything and were friendly at the checkout. I collect magnets, so I try to get a location-specific one anywhere I go on a trip. I was hoping to get a Shady Maple magnet, and I found one. They only had the one kind in the clip, but there were multiple colors. I chose the green, and also got a cool magnet showcasing Lancaster County. I thought the prices were reasonable, as I only spent $10.58, with tax, on the two magnets. Next time I come, I will definitely budget more time to look around this massive shop. After stuffing ourselves at the breakfast buffet, we had to check out the massive gift shop downstairs, especially since it's been long overdue for me and Jeremy to get our Lancaster sticker for our van. It seems like I'm in PA for either Philly, or Lancaster at least every third month. I REALLY wanted a "honk if you're Amish" sticker, after seeing one on the bumper of my mother's neighbor's truck. I thought that I would start my mission here, but I actually found one!! What luck!! We also could not resist the Top Gun "Talk to me Goose" sticker because Jeremy's nephew is named Maverick, and because one of our cat's nickname is Loose mcGoose, or Goosie. I wish that I had bought two. I was under the impression that we were buying the sticker for Maverick, until Jeremy slapped it onto our van. We DID smash a penny for Mav's collection though. We added a Lancaster magnet to our collection, too. I don't know if there are a lot of alien abductions in PA, but the Trekkie in us NEEDED the cow abduction one. What can I say? I'm a sucker for silly things. We got lost several times in the store. We went inside with four other people and couldn't find them within five minutes. We tried yelling, "Marco!" but random people kept trying to play. We didn't meet up with them again for like an hour later - over at the grocery store/farmers market building. It was a pretty fun outing. I would recommend the gift shop, but beware, you're gonna be in there longer than you expect, and if you collect ANYTHING you're gonna make at least one purchase because they have ALL the souvenirs. read more

It was fun to be back here. To their credit, I liked the shirts for Shady Maple, I bought my son one. Considering he had the "left side of the menu." This gift store downstairs, I'd recommend the Shady Maple clothing, as it's cheaper than everything else. The "man cave" LED lights are 50% less online elsewhere. The nutcrackers and other decorations, to each their own on this stuff. One of the most ridiculous gifts, were NFL bbq grill spatulas. I'm not paying $25 for my teams logo, to be put on such an item. Someone else can. They do have some fun candies. Plus the employees are very polite. When here check it out, but aside from Shady Maple merchandise, there's not a lot that intrigued me. read more

The gift shop is located on the lower level of the smorgasbord. Definitely worth stopping in to browse! The shop is huge and has a little of everything. It's a great place to look for Amish made toys, furniture, lawn decor, quilts, etc. The toy section has a nice selection of items, much more than what you'd find at a Target or Walmart. The quality is generally a lot high as well. It's a great place to look for puzzles and unique games! Be sure to check out the bargain corner in the back! Be warned, there is no cell reception! We have come to Shady Maples for many many years, celebrating ourebrating our "birthdays" there with our family. Today, was so upsetting. The young girl rang up our purchase at the counter, and added the 20% to the bargin store item. The register took and accepted this discount. And just when we were going to pay for the items, My husband Ben , his birthday 5/31/2024 and his wife, Kathryn were standing there. This lady, a "manager" Donna, bluntly interrupted, was "mean spirited" and made a specktacular of the situation. Nastly, and rude, she demanded we come another time and use the coupon or not get the discount. This purchase was already complete. We told her we were customers here and the registered accepted the discount. We also told her we were from "out of town" , so coming back again to use the coupon, that was accepted by SM gift shop, was not an option for us. My poor husband, an older couple in their 70's were treated so poorly, unprofessional and disrespected in front of many other customers.
