We ended up here after having a terrible experience somewhere else and ended up not having a site that we had already paid for. It was a shot that was LITERALLY in the dark as we called around 9pm desperately looking for a site on the Thurs before a holiday weekend. Clearly it was meant to be as someone had JUST canceled and the site available was perfect for our camper! I cannot say enough good about both this campground and the new owners, Robert and Melissa. Robert came out and showed us to our site and backed us in at 10pm and did it with a smile! They are constantly going around the campground emptying trash cans, cleaning, checking on everyone, etc. It's pristine! The showers are absolutely not to be believed!!! They are clean clean CLEAN! What made the difference is they have paid attention to all the little details. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! What started out a terrible holiday weekend ended as one of the best camping trips we have ever taken and it's all due to Robert and Melissa and all their hard work. We have stayed here multiple times and absolutely love it here! Robert and Melissa are very warm and welcoming and are always willing to take time to make their guests feel welcome. We have stayed in a camper cabin (cabin 1) both times we have stayed but have had others in our group that have used their RV sites as well as one of the full service cabins. The cabins as well as the shower house are very well maintained and clean. The grounds around the campground are always very well maintained as well. There is a pavilion that offers different games including shooting pool, ping pong and various other games. Behind the pavilion there is also a playground, volleyball court and horseshoe pit as well as a splash pad next to the pavilion for kids to enjoy. They also maintain beautiful hiking trails through the woods. Campers with dogs are welcome and they have a dog area and also allow pets to be walked around the grounds. We would highly recommend anyone staying in the area to stay here! read more

My Arkansas Razorback Airstream Club held a rally at Shady Oaks this weekend and loved the campground. Some pull through sites, working utilities, shade (hence the name Shady Oaks!), cabins, facilities, nearby attractions, great rates - Shady Oaks is about six miles off Hwy. 65, but one of those places that makes you go "ahhhh" because of the beautiful setting and peacefulness. When the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon reached Harrison, the annual state hot air balloon competition was canceled, but our group didn't miss a beat gathering in the camp pavilion that has every kind of board game, ping pong, shuffle board, karaoke, pool table and more, that anyone could have time for. The campground owners, Robert and Melissa, are onsite and understand what outstanding customer service is all about. The campground itself is adequate, has nice pull through sites and cabins to rent. The problem is the owner Teri and her on again/off again boyfriend Bobby. Terri makes deals and promises but won't honor them. Uses people then kicks them out of the campground. Meanwhile, if Bobby is in the On-again phase of the relationship, he's going round shooting woodpeckers (protected species) and squirrels cause they make Teri's dog go nuts! At first Teri comes off as very nice, but within a day or two she starts complaining, you can't have visitors, you can't run electronic items too much, 2 AC units? Oh my may have to charge you more! Then if you go to the office for any reason, she will start complaining about HER life, pretty soon you will beg for her to take a breath so you can say "I gotta go" but it won't work.. You will soon find out about her gall bladder and all her medical conditions. Good luck getting out of there! read more

As a motorcycle touring rider, I've stayed in countless campgrounds thruout most of the continental U.S. With no reservations whatsoever, this is the finest campground I've experienced. The owners, Melissa and Rob, are two of the nicest folks you could imagine. Both immediately impress you with their attitude, they want you to have everything you might need to make your stay enjoyable. The campground is exquisitely maintained, the sites are immaculate, the faciities are pristine (the bathrooms-beautiful!). A laundry is provided, ice and firewood are available, a full playground for kids includes a splash pad. There is a pavilion with a kitchen stove, microwave, refrigerator, big screen TV, ping pong, shuffle board table, pool table, horseshoe pit, these folks have thought of everything! Even the picnic tables have been leveled. Plenty of shade under the big oaks too. You cannot go wrong with this choice!!! read more

The Shady Oaks is a rare find for RV'rs and campers alike. This campground has over 50 sites with full hookups and up to 50AMP service as well as cable TV connections and more than adequate WiFi access. There is a well maintained pool for Summer, and laundry facilities that are fairly priced. The sites have spacious green space between the sites and the entire property is dotted with beautiful mature oak trees that offer shade during the hot days of Summer and a nice wind break on inclimate weather days. Pet-friendly and Motorcyclist friendly! There are also cabins available to rent that come complete with bedding and, in the larger cabin, full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes and silverware. read more

The owners, Rob and Melissa, were amazing! They are both so nice and caring. They put a lot into making their campground spectacular. The grounds are well maintained. The bathrooms are the cleanest I have ever seen! There's a rec area with pool and games. A splash pool area was being built while we were there. The camp sites are great. Electric was all overhauled and in perfect condition. Fire rings were great! Couldn't ask for anything more! read more

Clean & comfortable campground that is 1 Mile East on Ar.Hwy 206 just off Ar. Hwy7 South of Harrison ,Arkansas. We camped here during the Hot Air Balloon Festival in September, 2016. It was shady, welcoming, and very very well kept. The grounds were pristine and clean. My favorite part was the nostalgic nod that the campground seemed to embody! From the huge trees to the retro playground (which my kids loved!), it just really seemed like a friendly and happy place.
