Given his reputation, he was already fully booked. Yet, since it was an engine light notification, he let me come in as soon as I called him. He ran the diagnostic screen, found that it was nothing to be concerned about (probably a faulty sensor code issue), and sent me on my way. The new owner is running things a bit differently, and I'm unsure of the experience of his team. Several of the adjacent shops recently closed and were still vacant. I'm not sure what the future holds for this building. Positives The new owner seems to be fully staffed. They check in your car and enter it into a database. They appear competent and efficient. However, I did not have any major repairs today. Today, I did an oil change and safety check, and it came out to a little over $140. ($30 for the safety check.) They seem to be relatively busy, and we have serviced all three of our vehicles here. It appears that they are set up to do most servicing and repairs. I will update my review if I need to do something other than an oil change. Negatives They accept credit cards, but I found out that they add a 3% surcharge. Unfortunately, I was informed about the charge as he was running the card. I offered to pay with my debit card, but he said it was too late. He simply tried to push the cancel button repeatedly and said, "Sorry." Suggestion For better customer service, he should have offered to do a refund and then use my debit card. Also, post a sign at the counter about new policies or charges.

Then i got lucky and found Charles at Pono Transmission. I asked AAA to tow the car on Thursday evening from one of the mechanic shops that couldn't help me a few blocks up the street to Pono's. On Friday morning before noon i got the call from Charles that my Jeep was fixed. I was sweating bullets from the fear of learning the damages - a transmission repair could break my bank! When i got to the shop i was presented with a very reasonable bill, considering the work involved and the technical know-how required to do the job.
