Don't call them on weekends. Let me explain why. Gabriel was great. He knew what the problem was and resolved it. That is typical of the people who work for Shaffer. As things turned out, it was not a serious issue; the drain had clogged up. If I have one complaint, it's being charged $100 simply to come out on a Saturday. I either had to pay it or go through two more days of 85° temperatures in my house. Still, that's too much. A $50 fee for weekends would have been sufficient. Before you think I am simply cheap, let's get one thing straight: I spent nearly $17,000 on this air-conditioning system, which Shaffer installed. I don't mind paying for things of value, but $100 extra on top of a $253 service call is clearly too much and the upcharge left a bad taste in my mouth. A Shaffer rep taking my call yesterday touted their maintenance plan, which makes sense to have, but don't look for me to use them for that job or likely any other after today. I've spent enough with Shaffer for one year (and probably a lifetime) and will find someone else. That's how mad I am about this, but of course they got my money and that's what they really wanted -- not my goodwill or future business. read more

I took my car there and the man came out he was a young man he was smoking a cigarette he wouldn't put the cigarette out he kicked my tires and told me they were good to come back next year The man definitely didn't want to work he didn't put it up on a lift he just told me they were good. I was told about this place by my parents when I had expressed my interest in buying a bike during a conversation. I stopped at the front of the building and saw the lights were on, the open sign was visible, and there was someone inside. I backed up and I parked in the little stone lot next to the building and my daughter and I headed inside. Matt greeted us as we walked in and proceeded to talk to us about bikes, and biking, specific frames, what kind of riding I was going to be doing, etc. I was specifically looking for a used bike and didn't see anything in the front room that blew me away, so he led us to another room where we were able to look at a bunch of other bikes. After a few minutes, I found something that I liked. I thought the asking price was reasonable so he proceeded to look it over once for me in the rack even though it had recently been serviced by them and was just waiting to go on the floor. He checked the brakes and the gears. He polished it up for me. He put a kickstand on it for me. Since I was paying with a card, he had to walk to the next building in the rain. Matt went above and beyond. He was professional, knowledgeable, and very nice. He did all this for me and I come to find out he was just there doing some extra work after hours and the shop really wasn't even open. The guys at Shaffer's were life savers for me today. I was turned away by 2 other 'big tire stores' but I had a significant leak in my right left tire and was afraid to drive it. The tire lost 15 pounds of air quickly. While they were busy with other customers, they assured me they would help if I would wait a bit. We took our bike to Cindy at Shaffer's Service the other day to get a flat fixed. Cindy not only fixed the flat but also lubricated the chain and adjusted the brakes. We have been going to this shop for years. Not only do they do good work but they are FAR less expensive than the bicycle shops in Lewes.....
