Ok, so I am a pretty gnarly dude. I mean, I'd probably describe myself as bad-ass. I have a Slayer logo for my Yelp image after all. I am covered in tattoos from shoulder to ankles. I'd say I'm more bad-ass than gnarly, but whatever. Why is someone as bad-ass as me reviewing a hair salon? In the small town of North Oxford?!?!??!!! The first time walking into Shagged Hair Design on Main Street, or Rt 12, in North Oxford, I couldn't help but to drawn into the décor of Shagged. To be honest, Shagged's décor is geared to a mostly female clientele, but someone like me isn't there for the décor. I need to get a good haircut at a price that doesn't completely empty my wallet. Shagged does that. Living in Worcester, there really isn't a whole lot of good/personable/cheap barbers or places to get a good male haircut. I tried barbers in the City, but the trendy taper crap sucks. I tried Diorio's but unless you know someone that works there, you're just another $9 and you get a sloppy cut. This is where Shagged shines. The staff is friendly first, then business like second. I like this about Shagged. As a customer, you are able to give ideas and have someone from Shagged's professional staff recommend a cut to fit the person. So dudes like myself, suck it up and don't worry about the décor and go to Shagged Hair Design and get a gnarly haircut. read more

I agree with Katie's review, had a bad experience here also with Vicki who sure has a short fuse if you tell her you not happy with the service. I asked for a trim, not a hack job, perhaps if she paid attention to what she was doing instead of gossiping she'd get it right. read more

Yesterday morning I went to get a haircut from a different salon. They butchered my hair, I was looking for a long hair bob cut, a haircut that was long overdue. I knew as soon she finished it wasn't right. I saw the back of my hair and she edward scissorhands my hair. Freaking out - I had to call a salon that had high referrals locally....the name Shagged came up. I called them right away, and they said of course come right in. I walked in and once they saw my hair, they agreed I wasn't overreacting...it was a mess and had to try to salvage it. The woman who saved me was the owner Vicki, and I could not thank her enough. We did have to cut my hair a little shorter and away from the picture I showed the first salon, but she made it work and it looks great. Couldn't be happier! Between the availability, professionalism, price and talent - I would definitely recommend and have found my go to hair salon when I am back home. Thank you Shagged! read more

I was in search of a good hair stylist & had been referred here by a friend over a year ago & I'm SOOO unbelievably grateful she recommended Alex to me because she has been a hair/life saver with my hair! I came in with yellowed out & badly broken hair from a previous hair stylist that i no longer wanted to go back to. Let me just tell you that she knows her sh*t haha. She is amazingly talented & brought my hair back to life & it's honestly better than I've ever had it, White blonde & my broken ends are finally restoring back & my hair has never felt healthier. I'm so happy i met her & every time i leave the salon i feel prettier than ever! I've received so many compliments on my hair after Alex does it, i'll refer anyone i can to Shagged because all the women there are amazingly talented. read more

I will NEVER use this hair salon. I called today to see if maybe they had a cancellation or an open appointment to get my haircut and colored, I know I was taking a chance and being okay if they didn't have anything available . I called and asked and whoever picked up the phone began laughing at me on the phone, like my question was a joke when it wasn't. She began yelling at the other hairstylist to see if they had an opening with every no she got back she laughed louder in my ear. I totally understood that I was calling last minute but I did not expect to get laughed at because of my question. They definitely lost a customer and from reading the last comments it seems like they are full of a bunch of rude people and I'm glad that I didn't go and give my money to people like them. read more

I have been going here for many years and absolutely love my stylist Vicky. Strangers always compliment me on my color and style. I always tell them "Shagged". I wouldn't go anywhere else. The atmosphere, decor and vibe and customer service are a step above! read more

I called in very early in the morning about six months ago, made an appointment with the stylist for a couple hours later, even though she technically still hadn't come in yet! I went from a darker blonde to a bleach blonde foil, and it was very pretty! I absolutely loved the way she foiled my hair, and I will be going back shortly! She also trimmed up my layers for free and it costed me $75 and then a $10 tip for the services! Definitely worth spending the money! read more

Not ever going back there they harass you if you don't like they're work and tried to blackmail me because I wrote a review writing exactly how I felt after I had my hair done by the owner of the salon. She does not do great work its actually half ass and as for the way they treat you is like your just another number. I have never felt like I had to write one of these reviews but when the daughter prive messages and writes that I need to do what she says or she will go after me well I will tell my side of the story. I got a haircut from Vicki. She did such a great job and helped me because my budget was low. She is the owner and so extremely nice and did a great job on my hair. Everyone there was very nice. I will be back!!!! read more
