I was using this company for many years without problem until I had a situation with an aggressive…read moregroomer I had my dog removed from that groomers table and took the dog home reached out to the owner the owner gave me a free nail trim I was satisfied with the nail trim and thought our problems were behind us until September 30th I took my dog there again for the regular nail trim he doesn't like to have his nails trimmed so he is muzzled but I heard him scream like I've never heard him scream before today's day too he's just started to walk he has a terrible limp he hid under the bed the rest of the night I never had a problem with this company prior to the aggressive groomer incident so I gave it a second chance and now my dog is injured never trust a place that locks the door so you can't see what the groomers are doing I should have listened to my dog he told me the first time he didn't want to go back I'm going to see where I can post a video so you can all see how my dog is 48 hours after that grooming it's just heartbreaking I will no longer be using or recommending their services mind you the owner new that she had an aggressive groomer she said she's just loud and that's quite unsatisfactory after she yelled at me for taking my dog back from her table. I would definitely think twice before leaving my dog here Heartbroken client.

Hap is very skittish and hates any kind of grooming. She shakes and tries to run. Lisa did a good job of calming her down. The conversation I described is nearly verbatim and she should have been transparent from the get-go/my first call, and that she was not is wholly on you for not supplying her with a clear and concise script/messaging for new clients. As far as being "annoyed," yes, that was correct on your part: I was annoyed. Also, please, don't take this review "as a compliment." I am unclear as to how 1 star could possibly be construed as a "compliment" (now I am "confused") and if you are being serious or being snide, but to be abundantly clear: this review is not a compliment. I'm writing about your shop 6 months later because 1) I do not to write spur of the moment, emotional, poorly thought out reviews and I let some time pass and re-evaluate; and 2) I pass your shop every day so I am reminded of my experience every day. As far as your 6 groomers toiling 6 days a week: consider opening up your hours beyond 8 hours a day to accommodate the needs of the community you serve. It is about a one minute walk from from my home and would not take my dog. I called to make an appointment for my older dog and the person who answered the phone took my information and was pleasant enough and then asked my dog's breed. When I said she was a doodle, she all of a sudden said she had no appointments. I hung up and then called back and asked her why she had appointments and then all of a sudden--when she heard the breed--she did not. She said--lol--"we do not have appointments for many months." I said, "I don't mind waiting." She said, "Well, it wouldn't be fair to our regular customers." I asked "Why?" She said "Because they will want to come in and will not be able to because new customers will have their spot." I said, "So you don't have enough staff?" She said, "No, we have enough staff." I got tired of her whack-a-mole answers and excused myself. I mean, just put a sign on the door that says "Doodles Not Welcome," like it's a diner in pre-Civil Rights Amendment era Birmingham, Alabama. Based on other reviews, the owner is popular and has a following from her prior location. However, she should be reminded that this is a dog grooming business and, like all businesses in Eastdale, it is supposed to serve a previously underserved area. Eastdale was constructed with a mission to deliver services and products to Arlington residents--not to people who decided to follow Rachel from 30 minutes away. Meanwhile my dog is a sweet natured four year old Doodle who I brush every day (she loves to lay on her back and get brushed) and bathe once a week (she's an outdoorsy gal!) Nice conclusion: I found a terrific groomer and we have had a monthly appointment with her for the last 6 months.

He wiggles and wags upon entering and gives Anniel and her assistant kisses. That says it all in my book. Businesses like K-9 Clippers deserve to be shared and recognized - they are exceedingly rare in my experience - ergo I'm writing my first Yelp review. Anniel truly cares about a dog's "grooming experience." My dog is not easy - before bringing him to K-9, I had tried grooming him myself; by the time I brought my dog to Anniel, he was a matted mess. More importantly, he was traumatized from attempts to remove his mats myself. During, his first grooming, she called me and told me he was biting; we agreed the best course was to shave him. She expressed that she was worried I'd not come back (1st time client and I'd wanted to keep his coat long), but also said in good conscience, the best and least painful option for my dog was to shave him and start over. She said she feared that if she kept going with the de-matting, he would develop a hatred of grooming from which he might never recover. I was so impressed with her honesty. I gave her the go-ahead to shave him, and thanks to her, he's never been shaved again! :) I am so grateful, too, that she did not give up on him due to the biting (which would have been understandable). He has actually *improved* thanks to her patience and persistence - even I can brush him now without his biting me. He needed time to trust that pain would no longer come from brushing once he was no longer matted. He grew out beautifully, and he gets compliments everywhere he goes thanks to his weekly sessions with her! Anniel knows dogs: she owns them, shows them, and to my mind, truly loves them. I'm a dog-nerd: I love seeing who is on the table when I go to pick up my guy: a Bichon in full "poof"; a handsome Doodle is another regular; two classically-groomed Scotties and a handful of Shih Tzu-types always make me smile. Every dog looks marvelous. The environment is quiet and calm; it is always Anniel and her assistant. The grooming tables are up front and in plain view. Everything is always clean and fresh. Her pricing is very fair - she has a sliding scale of sorts based upon how frequently you bring your dog and the level of grooming they require. For instance, every 6 weeks or so, I'm charged for a full grooming; but in between, I'm charged much less for a bath and brush. She is not fast...but I don't want her to be. Haste makes waste. My guy comes out looking exactly the same every week - how she does that, I don't know! :) Some people don't like leaving their dog all day, and that is an understandable preference. However unlike some places where the length of stay negatively impacts the dog (and I've taken my dog to one of those prior to finding K-9), I've never detected this here: like I said - every week, he goes in happy and comes out happy. Meanwhile (knowing he's well cared for) I can get a few things done. If this is a deal-breaker for you, I'd still recommend contacting her to see whether in your case, the grooming can be made shorter because, honestly? It's the best grooming you'll find. Finally, Anniel as a person is a pleasure to deal with. She and her assistant are always sunny and upbeat - I've never caught them in a bad mood in all my visits. Two thumbs (and four paws!) up!

(Most businesses do their best to work with the customer, not place blame on the customer.) He is very poorly skilled with dogs like mine (cockapoos with zero matting), and doesn't take responsibility. He flips it to fit his agenda. I just asked for SOME of the fee back , as I did not get what I asked for. He was rude and unreasonable when I addressed this. My matt free dogs looked better before the 7 hour "grooming". I should have taken into account the Google review describing a customers dog leaving Ken's Grooming Post with cuts, scars and bleeding from his skin. According to that review , responsibility wasn't taken in that situation either - the customer was blamed, as I was. (I thought I'd give him a chance- silly me.) Wishing Ken all the best in educating himself for future grooming and better skills with hopefully being kinder in communicating with unhappy clients. It's not always the clients fault. The "professional" can make mistakes, and own them.
