Since the new ownership took over, our experience has gone steadily downhill. Prior to this, we had never once had an issue with grooming--no matter how long our dog's hair had gotten, even after COVID, the groomers always managed to brush him out without any problems. Unfortunately, that level of care has completely changed. We've dealt with several poor grooming jobs under the new owners, but this last visit was the final straw. We received a text saying they needed to go shorter, and we agreed--but when we picked up our dog, he had been completely shaved down to the skin. Our dog is part Husky, a breed that should never be shaved, and any reputable groomer should know that. To make matters worse, he had a cut on his neck from how close they got to the skin. Not only was the grooming unacceptable, but the staff also refused to take any accountability. Rather than admitting they were uncomfortable grooming our dog, they chose to proceed--and take our money--at the expense of his well-being. I have added photos of what he should look like versus how he looked when we picked him up. I can no longer recommend this place. Since the change in ownership and grooming staff, the quality and care have drastically declined. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I was looking for a place to take my fur babies to get groomed, I just moved recently so I don't know the area much. I took my two dogs there for a full body haircut. I specifically told the manager/owner how I wanted them to be done. They came out looking like everything I said I did not want. They looked horrible. I was so disappointed, especially with the price and time it took. I saw one of the workers man-handling dogs. They were roughing them in the back including MY DOG. As soon as I saw that I should've to not trust these people with my dogs. Dont go here no matter how desperate you are. Please take my review into consideration and spare your fur babies. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Shampoochie for over a year now. Never had a problem with Corinne or her husband. They did an excellent job. Unfortunately, on May 3, 2022 I took my one dog to be groomed, again an excellent job. When I got home I noticed that her eye was closed and she would not open it. I thought maybe a piece of hair got in her eye so I put a warm compress on it. The next morning it was all red and crusty. I called Corinne to see if maybe she nipped her in the eye with the scissor anything is possible. Corinne informed me no way and did advise me that after she had gotten her bath she was in the crate and Corinne noticed that her eye was bothering her and she on her own without my permission put Saline drops in my dog's eyes. I should have been called about this. In any event, I rushed my dog to the Vet only to learn that my dog had an ulcer/burnt cornea. I asked what could have caused it and I did inform him that she was groomed the day before. He said that if the shampoo is not rinsed completely or if shampoo got directly on the eye it could burn it. Under the microscope her cornea was completely burnt. Now she is on medication and in a cone for two weeks. Thank god it is improving and she will be okay. I am posting this because I saw a side of Corinne that I never saw. Corinne became very nasty, arrogant and did not act in a professional manner whatsoever. She never once called to see how my dog was like there was just no concern. This is the only groomer for my pets. They always do an amazing job and also groom cats! They're super friendly and kind people too who always respond to questions quickly and promptly. Prices are totally reasonable and they even do niche services like putting nail caps on. I highly recommend bringing your dog or cat down to get a bath, haircut, nail trim or all of the above. read more

We took our puppy Sheldon here when other groomers turned him away for being nippy and difficult. From my first conversation with Shampoochie, I was more concerned about THEM and not my dog, lol, he's a tough cookie! Corinne assured me that she could handle him and she was right. I would never ever take him to anyone or anywhere else. I refer them business all the time, especially when i hear that owners are having a difficult time with a difficult pet. I am so happy we found them, my boyfriend and I both love this place and Corinne & her husband. They also make us feel so relieved when we pick Sheldon up, and they tell us he was a good boy. It's embarrassing sometimes with how the pupper behaves, he hates other dogs and kids, and we are always so scared of leaving him without one of us to wrangle him, so they make us feel much better about everything! I just rescued a Pekingese and she needed a shampoo and beard grooming and it was with a bit of trepidation that I took her for her groom. I was worried about her being caged ( because of her past life of being in cages quite a bit) and wasn't sure how she would react to the grooming ( she was a champ). Long time regular customer but sadly changing my review. I was told that my dogs' ears were being cleaned when they went there for grooming. But alas that was not happening. About a week after their last visit I noticed that my beagle's ear was bothering her. I looked inside and it was dirty to the point of black ear wax. Ended up costing me $300 at the vet who told me it had been a long time since her ears had been cleaned and she now had an ear infection. Now my other dog is having ear problems and we're finding the same wax buildup in one of her ears. Now it's going to be another $300 vet bill. Be careful who you trust with your pets and always double check any work that's been done. read more

If I could give Shampoochie zero stars, I would. I have been taking my Shih Tzu to this store since it opened. I took Lily three weeks ago to Shampoochie and Corrine informed me that she no longer grooms the dogs. She hired new groomers and a groomer by the name of Ashley groomed my dog, Lily. When she was done, I noticed that Lily couldn't walk well. I told Corrine "Something is wrong with Lily" and she responded, "She's just tired." I disagreed with her and when I brought Lily home, she began to cry and she couldn't walk. I took Lily immediately to the vet and discovered that Ashley used the razor machine on Lily's paw pads, and she had burned and cut them. That evening Lily was still in bad shape and I noticed that the solution that the vet gave to me was not helping her so I called Flannery Animal Hospital and I took Lily. I spent $88.00 in Shampoochie for Lily's haircut, $49.00 at the Vet earlier that morning and $138.00 at Flannery Animal Hospital that evening. I called Corrine the next day and informed her that the vets said that Lily was injured due to improper grooming, and I requested my money back for her haircut. Corrine agreed to give me back the $88.00 for her haircut. She said that she would call me to make sure that Lily was getting better and I haven't heard from her since. Now it's three weeks later, and I cannot take Lily for her walks because her paw pads are still injured, and every time I take her outside, her paw pads bleed when she walks. I have a followup visit with the vet on Thursday. I am still spending money for Lily's injury. Shampoochie used to be a wonderful place where your dog could be safely groomed. This is not the case anymore. She has more customers now and she doesn't care about the dogs anymore. Before this incident occurred, I walked into the store one day to drop Lily off for her hair cut and she was screaming at a puppy, "shut up, shut up, shut up!" She had no idea that I was in the store. After that, I started waiting for Lily inside the store. I would never leave her alone. I never imagined that day that when they took Lily to the back of the store for her haircut, that they would injure her paw pads. I should have never taken Lily to this store since the first time she screamed at the puppy. read more

I have to say I'am so very disappointed. I had taken my 9 lb. toy poodle Charlie here about 5 times in the past. I had an appointment for tomorrow but called today to check on price. I know i paid between 50 and 55 dollars the last time I was there. I was told today groomings start at 67. I asked did the prices go up because of covid ? I was told no because of minimum wage going up. Really ?? Do you pay your groomers minimum wage ? I will not be going back as I think a grooming starting at 67 is very high. read more

My dog hates getting his nails trimmed. He cries, moves around a ton, and it takes at least two people to get the job done. His last groomer made him bleed a couple of times, and I was unsuccessful at doing it myself. Corinne always does it with a smile, despite my dog's behavior. She has never made him bleed and always does it quickly and efficiently. It's definitely worth driving a little out of the way! read more
