I had really high hopes for this place and for vein gogh in general. i had a red spot on my face (post hyper pigmentation) for years i had tried every cream and laser and thought i would give vein gogh a shot. i called his office and inquired about their rates and etc. the receptionist stated that the treatment would be $400. sounded good and so i went to see dr. shaheen. when i first walked into his office, he said that he could not treat me. i was bummed but he referred me elsewhere. but as i was about to leave he changed his mind and said that he could go ahead with the treatment. the procedure was quick and painless. i was really excited to see the results. dr. shaheen told me to wear sunscreen and that in about a week the red spot should be gone. i wore sunscreen religiously and a week passed and nothing happened. the spot didn't get worse but it certainly didn't get better. i emailed him and his receptionist responded. i asked to speak to dr. shaheen but she said he was "busy". i asked if i could speak to him and in the background i could hear him tell the receptionist that i needed to make an appt to talk to him. i'm sure vein gogh works great on other spider viens/vericose veins but do not see him for any post hyperpigmentation. i understand that not all procedures will go the way we expect them to but to avoid my phone calls and emails after spending $400 on a procedure that did not work is lame. read more

After getting a diagnoses for 'leaky vein valves' that were causing terrible swelling in one ankle, I was referred to Dr. Raymond Shaheen. Over the course of almost a year, Dr. Shaheen treated me in three 'out-patient' sessions, using different methods as seemed appropriate, for shutting down this bad vein. The vein affected my whole limb, from upper thigh to almost my toes. I must comment, also, on the fact that with no history or genetic predisposition for vein problems, I was quite impressed that from the on-set of my symptoms, Dr. Shaheen was the first doctor to review my ultrasound, and give me a correct diagnosis. (The problem was probably the result from the trauma of a total knee replacement.) In conjunction with a mobile ultrasound professional, who was very familiar with, and spoke very highly of Dr. Shaheen, I went into these procedures with absolutely no trepidation at all. When you hear someone is the best in his field goes a long way to alleviating the fear of the unknown. I felt perfectly confident each time I went to Dr. Shaheen for treatment. Dr. Shaheen did every one of the three procedures right in his office. His patience and bed-side manner, and walking me through the procedure as it took place, was nothing short of a phenomenal experience. The true proof of his skill was demonstrated in the end result. Finally, a highly-skilled surgeon with great "bedside manner!" I am 78-year-old Medicare patient with deep-vain problems in my legs. Dr Shaheen examined me and proposed surgery to treat the problem. His initial surgery date conflicted with our move into a retirement center, but he changed his busy schedule and took me two weeks earlier. Prior to the surgery, he talked with me extensively about the procedure and cleared up all my questions. I have had these unsightly veins in my legs for years. Thank God I found Dr. Shaheen. Not only was he genuinely caring, and did a thorough visit, answering all of my questions in a way I could understand-- but his procedure was painless, and I was able to go back to my normal routine right away. Only exception was I couldn't do strenuous exercise for 2 weeks, but he told me I could walk, so I walked 5 miles a day and that actually helped in terms of healing and circulation.
