Dr. Connell is the first and only doctor I have ever been to that actually listens. Further, she considers your entire mind, body and environment in developing treatment. She made several suggestions and immediately told me her plan would not entail me being on all of the supplements and such forever, but to reduce to exactly what is needed as we proceeded through treatments. This is a fact. From the first set of supplements to now - the supplements have been reduced to half. From the first session I have experienced great changes to my pre-menopausal symptoms (hot flashes gone). From the next session my acne, weight gain, nail strength, and sleep have all improved (all the things I wanted to address). She claimed my baseline testosterone was low and immediately began aggressively increasing my dosage. Over the last two years, my testosterone levels shot up to a staggering 254-387--levels far too high for a female. Predictably (to someone educated in hormones- which wasn't me), I developed overwhelming exhaustion. When a woman's body is flooded with too much testosterone, the excess converts directly into estrogen. According to medical resources like the Cleveland Clinic, an overloaded estrogen system causes severe fatigue and low libido--completely defeating my original reason for seeking care. Things got so bad that my gynecologist expressed serious concerns and told me to demand a dose decrease. To the DW provider's credit, she did check my iron on and correctly put me on an iron supplement, which brought my levels up. But when the iron didn't cure the exhaustion, she resorted to guesswork--adding thyroid medication, B12 shots, DIM, and a cortisol manager rather than acknowledging the testosterone overload. This past week, I reached my breaking point and asked to transfer my care to another provider in the clinic. Instead, I was directed to the office manager, who doubled down on their unsafe stance and insisted testosterone couldn't be the issue. Everyone there is super nice and professional. I had to wait about 15 minutes to be serviced, but it was expected since I was late. I really like this office cuz I can get my labs drawn right in the same office and not have to go somewhere else! The phlebotomist was awesome as well! He was able to get my blood with just 1 poke! I'm really happy with this honor health office and Dr Roy! He's a keeper!!
