It was so nice to be back in a Shakey's pizza parlor again! Brought back a lot of fun, childhood memories. Their buffet was amazing! Everything was piping hot, which I love; fresh and many great choices. Staff was extremely friendly and very efficient in ways of picking up our dirty plates. The comfort food choices on the buffet was tempting as I mostly never eat mashed potatoes and gravy, but I caved. We asked for a vegetarian pizza and they cooked it up expediently. Had a bad experience there once. But I think that was because of one or two of the girls that worked there. I never seen a person get upset at me when I was trying to tell her what I thought "alot" of black olives on my pizza were. But I have to give credit where credits due. Had a choir competition group of 55 high school students. I was able to call ahead and order our 15 pizzas, chicken and jojos. The night Manager Daniel was amazing. Prompt, professional, and very accommodating. Three other choir groups ate at the restaurant all at the same time. The staff checked on everyone frequently and made sure we didn't have any complaints along with kept our tables clean. The pizza was hot and tasted amazing. The place was very busy but our order came out in a reasonable amount of time. Too bad that there's only one Shakeys pizza chain in the Tri- Cities. None in Vancouver. Hello, I wanted to reach out and let you know we went to Shakey's in Pasco, Washington after a huge soccer tournament. We were greeted by a worker. I am assuming he is the manager. I didn't get his name but he is a larger man possibly Hispanic. First of all the place was crowded. He asked if we had reservations and I said no. He asked how many people were in the party and I said 15-20. Somehow, this man found tables for us to all sit together. He was working hard the entire time we were there. Not sweating though or anxious. He had it completely together. Oh, and can I add working the bar as well? Just wanted to say a huge kudos to that guy. You all are lucky to have him. The thin crust here reminds us of the pizza we grew up in at home, The Philippines. Shakeys was really big there growing up. It was nice to find this place. Walked in on a Friday night 50 minutes before close and the place was locked tight. When they are the only thing open after 9 in the area and when you haven't eaten all day not cool. I went twice to eat at this location and the young lady at the register was very polite and very helpful. I had different pizza deliveries from 2 different young men and both were also very polite and respectful as well. NOW, with those young men and young being recognized as having excellent customer service skills they are stuck with a really TERRIBLY RUDE boss named DANIEL. His customer service was horrible BOTH times I went. The first time I bought a beer and used cash and he didn't have the change so he told me he would find me when he had the change, ( I was literally the only person one the side near the parking lot) he passed by a few times and never spoke ever. After eating my delicious pizza I had to go to find him for my change and I had to "remind" him that he never gave me my change. The second time I went there I was with a few coworkers and one of them asked him if he had lemons and he said he'd have to look in the freezer/cooler and he would let her know. After some time of waiting, he didn't come by and say yay or nay so I offered to go see if the salad bar had lemons. On my way to the salad bar I asked a young man that worked there if he knew if they had lemons on the salad bar and he asked Daniel "boss" and Daniel had the audacity to LITERALLY raise his voice at me saying "Momma I told her I would look and let her know if I have lemons", I was pretty shocked that he was speaking pretty loudly at me. I said yes sir and thank you and the other employees were all just looking at me like "oh dang." I love the food so if you don't mind TERRIBLE customer service from the "manager" or if you're lucky enough that you don't have to deal with him it's a great pizza place !!! We are in town for a Highschool Choir festival and stopped at Shakeys for dinner. Our choir and chaperones totaled 53 people. We called ahead and let Daniel the manager know we would be coming. We'll let me tell you. This man was super prepared, calm and thought of everything. He had plenty of staff on hand. 3 other choirs arrived over the next hour and it was amazing. We had yummy pizza, delicious chicken, scrumptious fried potatoes and salad. I don't know how they made magic happen...but we had hot food ready to go upon our arrival. Wow ! I came here for the lunch buffet. Its available 11-2, Monday - Friday. I arrived at 11:10 and I was the second customer for the lunch buffet. The Manager asked what kind of pizza I wanted as they start making the pizza as customers come in, so it would stay fresh. The salad bar looked ehh, typical. Some of the lettuce didn't look too great, so I got spinach and potato salad. The fried chicken was delicious. Crispy, hot, juicy and flavorful. The Mojo potatoes were on spot. There was also mac n cheese, pasta, mashed potatoes and gravy and veggies. By 11:30 there pizza line was full. Pepperoni, sausage, hawaiian, chicken and bacon, many varieties of pizza and cheesy breadsticks. The place was clean and employees were quick to remove your dirty plates. Note, if you come during lunch time, it can get busy. By noon, the place was packed and full of people. but everytime i went to the buffet line, the food was pretty much filled. I grew up in the Seattle area and used to frequent Shakey's Pizza Parlor in Lynnwood all the time... It was always the best pizza. When I saw that a new Shakey's pizza had opened in Tri-Cities I was totally pumped! My wife and I eagerly stopped in for dinner. This place was "upgraded" from Eatza Pizza, which was a total buffet style place. Not anymore... well, sort of... Shakey's still does the buffet during the lunch hour. The positive is that the new decor is awesome!!! MUCH better than the old place. The restaurant looks fantastic. Like a pub! I love the styling with the old Little Rascals movies playing on a big screen (although I wish the audio could be heard) and then TV's all around (including one big screen) playing sports games. The wood floors around the pizza bar looks great along with the checkerboard tile on the wall. Very cool looking place indeed! Now to the food... First, the pizza... Good! For some reason not quite a good as I remember from Seattle, but I'm not gonna be too picky about that as it's been a lot of years since I've been there (still I always remembered the original Shakey's as being simply awesome pizza... This wasn't "awesome" but it was still good). I enjoyed the pizza. The crust is wonderful and the sauce just right, not too heavy; However, it was very light on cheese. Also, my wife and I much prefers a thicker crust and we ordered the regular (I wasn't even thinking about it when I ordered). Oh well, we'll give that a try next time. As for the chicken strips, not so spectacular there, but still better than some places we've frequented. The chicken wasn't dry or flavorless, but it was also pretty average. Nothing that makes you go, "Wow! Now that's chicken!" Kids won't complain. Now, the Mojos that come with the strips are excellent! In case you're asking what a Mojo is, it's basically the same as a JoJo, except in slices instead of the normal potato wedge. Really, really good! The breading was light and the flavor excellent. The service was also decent. Our server was very attentive. He made sure our drinks were full and stopped by regularly to see how we were doing. That having been said, a lot of the other staff were standing around like they didn't have anything to do. Overall, our experience was very good. The prices seemed a little high. $20 for a large pizza, which was actually more like a medium. Hard to justify when you get a large specialty deep dish pizza at Pizza Hut for around $10 bucks or go to New York Richie's in Kennewick and get a HUGE large authentic New York-style pizza for the money around the same price as Shakey's. There's also a salad bar at Shakey's but it's $4 for a single trip and $6 for unlimited, however, it's nothing to write home about either. Just a very average salad bar. It's easy to blow $35 for two people here... much more if you're having drinks too. Eatza Pizza (the previous establishment) at least gave you a lot of other great buffet items that were included with your pizza and most of them were very good). I do miss that, even though the Shakey's decor and the pizza itself is better. Maybe not as good as the Shakey's I remember, but still good. :) Overall, Shakey's is a really nice place! A very nice improvement over the previous Eatza Pizza, which was boring to look at and had only average pizza. We like it! :) We'll give it another shot. read more

As a former manager (and manager trainer for a national chain) of pizza restaurants, I was nicely surprised when I entered- I was greeted immediately by the general manager (Leticia), who helped me with my order when I stopped in this afternoon. I hadn't been to a Shakey's Pizza Parlor since 1982, back when I was a teenager. The pizza was amazing. Now, I'm a pizza snob, so I was sampling each part of the pizza with specific things in mind: Frozen or hand-made crust? (it's the latter. Yay!) Fresh, canned, or paste-and-water-mix-pretending-to-be-sauce? (Fresh) TVP or actual meat for their crumbled meats? (Real meat) Toppings out to the edge? (Yes) Topping distribution? Any center loading or under topping going on? (Even and NO. Looked GREAT) How was the service? (Quick and Friendly by knowledgeable staff who made suggestions) Any toppings with preservatives (like, say Papa Johns or Pizza Hut?)- (NO) Pizza cooked, but not overcooked or doughy? (Cooked just right) I got to talk with Leticia and had some great answers. I noticed her Assistant Manager was constantly on the move, setting the example for the remaining employees. When Leticia answered my questions, she went right back to doing the same. These guys lead by example and both the food and service are top-notch. Pizza is average at best. I came in at 7:45 to have dinner. Door says they are open until 9. The entire time I am trying to eat people are running around with vacuum's mops, wiping down everything...and right by where I am sitting. Made for a very uncomfortable experience.
