My parents were obsessed with Shakey's Pizza growing up, mostly because it was a rare treat for them. I had only ever heard of it from them and South Park, even though it's a chain based in the U.S.. It seems to be a casual family restaurant, much like Applebee's. They serve pizza, pastas, and chicken (with mojos), in a friendly, air conditioned environment. It even has a neat little arcade section!
I tried a majority of the menu after two visits. For pizza, we had the Shakey's Special, Angus Steakhouse, and Scallop Primo Pizzas. We got them all on their thin crust. It was good, but i think a thin crust pizza should be given a tavern/party cut.
We also tried their spaghetti, garlic bread, wings, and chicken (with mojos). I'd pass on their spaghetti, but I did like the garlic bread and wings. Their fried chicken is about as good as the fried chicken in all the fast food places of the Philippines, but it does come with mojos, which are potato wedges in the shape of thick potato chip.
Prices are pretty high for the Philippines, but the free Wi-Fi is nice. read more
