My daughters and I first stumbled upon this spot during a casual day out, and boy did it deliver! We kicked things off with some quick bites--their chicken wings and spring rolls. These arrived piping HOT and oh-so-DELICIOUS! Little did we know that snack would spark a full-on love affair with their seafood boils. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and we had to give their famous crab offerings a try. BEING THE CRAB CONNOISSEURS WE ARE (yes, we take our crustaceans very seriously), we decided on their Snow Crab Boil with GARLIC BUTTER and medium heat. We ordered 3 POUNDS for three hungry humans. And guess what? The food was ready in just 10 MINUTES after ordering online!! TEN MINUTES! The Snow Crab legs were GLORIOUS. We're talking fresh, juicy, and exploding with flavor! Each crab lump was about half a pound, giving us all a snow crab PER PERSON. The buttery seasoning hugged every bite, and when paired with our homemade black vinegar and ginger dipping sauce? PURE. MAGIC. Each claw was LOADED with tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat that was miraculously easy to extract. HANDS, CHOPSTICKS--it didn't matter, the meat practically fell out! After devouring a full crab each, we were completely, utterly, blissfully satisfied. (No post-meal regrets here!) I ordered a pick up order. When i got to the place the front desk man didn't seem very welcoming but i did pick up 30 minutes before close time so it was end of day. I got crab, shrimp, boiled eggs, crawfish and sausage in the hot special sauce. I personally wish the sauce had more seasoning in it. Flavor was pretty good though. Crawfish were not deveined and didn't seem fresh. The crab also did not seem like fresh crab but at least it wasn't dry. The shrimp was good and sausage flavor was great. Overall I would rate a 6.5/10 compared to other seafood boils I have had. read more

I've been to all the national chains offering a crab & seafood boil, so I'm pretty experienced in this cuisine. The food was excellent. The portions looked small but ultimately I trust that they just looked smaller than their competitors because of the smaller plate size used. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had snow crab and shrimp cooked with their "special sauce"/medium. The flavor was excellent and better than everywhere else I've been. It combined garlic, cajun, lemon and butter and was just perfect. Red potato and corn was included too. Eggs were extra. Our waitress was attentive and we had no issues. They also supplied bibs, gloves and all the tools you need to eat as well as to stay generally clean. If I had to offer a tip I would suggest not going with your favorite clothes because it can get a bit messy if you're not careful. read more

I was surprised when I walked in how large this restaurant was. It looks like an Asian theme when you come in with pictures of boba tea and pho soup. We sat down and ordered right away. My wife got a boil and I got the fish with fries. Hers came out pretty quick but mine came out about 10 minutes after hers. I thought this was a little strange that they came out so far apart. Also, it said the fries would be seasoned fries but they were just plain. The flounder was super hot which was good and means that it was cooked fresh so at least that was a good point. I like the breading because it had a little crunch. The fries were just standard plain fries. Next time I come back I would probably pick something from the Asian theme part of the menu cuz it looks like that's what they really specialize in. The phi soup looked really good. read more

First time here at shaking crab and while they have expanded their menu to include Vietnamese Pho, rice plates, banh mi sandwiches, we stuck with seafood for the first visit. We ordered a variety of boiled and fried seafood and they came out piping out and totally flavorful. Beware of intense garlic breath for the rest of the evening if you pick the special/garlic sauce but totally worth it!! Great happy hour specials too for 1/2 wine and 1/2 wells. We stopped here for lunch. This place is deceivingly large. You can choose between Vietnamese food and seafood boils. Very interesting dichotomy, but nevertheless, different and I like that. I'm trying to lose the baby weight so I got a shrimp and mussels boil and added broccoli. It was delicious. My husband got fried flounder and it was huge. If a customer is going to drop good money for a shrimp boil, then they should be greeted with a "hello" and a smile and friendliness which NEVER happens. Great flavors inside! Came where on a whim with a craving for crab. Ordered their special that included a pick three: snow crab, Dungeness crab, and shrimp. Got their medium spice in simple garlic butter flavor, it was so so good! My steamed meal came with corn, red potatoes, a hard boiled egg, and sausage. The service was great, our server brought out plastic gloves and bibs in case we needed to stay fresh. I went all in without gloves anyway, but it worked out good and it's nice to your hands on some crab legs. My husband had their blue crab meal and their Cajun spiced oysters. The blue crab is from Maryland, so the crab sizes were more ample than some you normally see in Florida. Really had a nice dinner here and everything was so fresh and the flavors were spot on. We ordered the crab legs and crawfish boil, while the sauce had nice flavor, it did not stick to the crawfish and it ended up tasting more bland to our liking. Just a heads up: it doesn't look clear from the reviews but this is primarily Vietnamese cuisine with a few Korean dishes. There are a few steamed/boiled seafood choices and some fried seafood choices but if you're looking for something other than Vietnamese, you won't find much of it here. We got the daily special from the web site. 16 oz lobster tail, 1/2 lb of crab legs, 1/2 lb of shrimp and it comes with corn and potatoes all for $34.95 and then we added andouille sausage and had to have a side of the hush puppies (with corn add what a nice touch). With the seafood boil have three steps to do, 1. get your hands dirty 2. pic your type of seasoning (we got the special this one is a medley of all that they offer) and 3. pic you spicy level we stayed on the mild side. Your food comes out cooked in a bag and is opened at the table. All was cooked to the right temperature, the potatoes were even done well. We ordered side salad which were definitely oversized. 3 of us ordered the crab legs- there were 4 sections (1 lb) 1/2 ear corn and 2 potatoes I ordered mine plain and crab seasoning on the side(you have to ask) The other two ordered the garlic butter. But I forgot that Tipsy Cows close on Monday, so I visit new Shaking Crab - Cajun Seafood instead! It opened about two weeks ago and written up by Carol E. with good review. Another good news of this location, there are ample parking in front of the restaurant. The place is huge with a seating capacity of 220-240! There is a full-service bar with happy hour where well drinks are priced 2 for 1! The place is clean and every table is covered with huge paper for ease of cleaning. Once seated, the waitress, Marilyn was wonderful and more than happy to answer any question or make suggestion! My first time here, to escape the hot Florida sun, I started to cool off with a Mai Tai while looking at the menu. The main theme is Cajun style Seafood cooked in a plastic bag with Blue crab, Shrimp (with and without heads), crawfish, clams, green and black mussel, Dungeness crab, King crab legs and lobster tail. Rib-eye and NY Strip, wings, whiting, catfish, red snapper, tilapia, flounder, scallops, and oysters are available as meal. For appetizers, the popcorn and coconut shrimp, fried calamari, crab cake, wings and lobster roll! It is fairly complete! I ordered the 1/2 pound of blue crab and 1/2 pound of shrimps with head on with hot Cajun seasoning. Once you unwrap the plastic bag, you can smell the seafood and season with steaming aroma! The shrimps and blue crabs are fresh and tasty. I love to dip my treats into the hot Cajun seasoning sauce. A draft beer and two potatoes and a corn filled me up! No room to try their NY style Cheese Cake, Lemon Coconut cake, Red Velvet or Molten Lava Cake. I love Cajun Seafood and this fits my taste. 5 Stars for the food! I was very excited to try a cajun seafood restaurant in my hometown. Upon walking in, the ambience is very nice; they have nautical decorations, good lighting, and an overall updated interior. I had a pretty large party of about ten people, and it took them a few minutes to get our table ready before seating us. As for the service, I was extremely disappointed. The waiter took our drink orders, and forgot one of my friend's soda; he never made up for it throughout the night. He came back to take our orders, and instead of writing it down, came back to make sure he remembered correctly a few times. Throughout the night, he didn't refill our drinks until we asked, and he forgot to put in additional orders that we made after being served. He brought out a pitcher of water for us, but I had to strongly suggest to him that our hands were dirty from peeling the seafood, and requested that he pour the water for us. As for the food, we got a few orders of the shaking crab combo; it comes with shrimp, snow crab, crawfish, mussels, clams, potatoes, and corn. We ordered all of them with their special combination sauce in spicy and extra spicy. Personally, I was shocked at how much oil was on the platters when they first brought them out. It was also extremely salty at first taste, but it gets better the more you eat. I couldn't tell the difference between the spicy and extra spicy, but both were flavorful. Each platter for two costs about $60, which is overpriced for me; I've gone to other cajun seafood places that offered more for less, and with better flavor.
