Amazing happy hour specials and sushi! Was so happy to find this hidden gem located in front of Koreana hibachi restaurant. When you walk through the gate to koi lounge you see the charming tiki hut, lots of outdoor seating, a koi pond and even flaming lanterns in the winter months. The happy hour deals run from 3-7 and are hard to beat! The house wine is priced at $3 a glass and the servings are VERY generous, they also offer a happy hour sushi menu with many varieties and sushi for only $5. The service is quick and attentive, the atmosphere is casual and trendy and the food is delicious! The sushi comes from koreana and is always of the highest quality. Great outdoor space in front of the Tokyo Bay restaurant with 8-10 tables and about 6 bar seats. Limited beer selection and a few special cocktails. No music though and bartender seemed disinterested. read more

Was visiting the area and was super excited to check this place out as the photos and reviews made it seem like a beautiful little spot. Let me start off by saying it looks nothing like the photos, VERY small, barely any privacy, and it looked like the food was prepared in the building in the back which gave off a very sketchy vibe. When we walked in there was no one to greet us, we sat ourselves, loud country music playing (definitely had more of a tavern feel to it) and waited about 5 min. before any one came over to us. To top it off the condiment bottles on the table were covered in sauce and the table itself had food crumbs on it. We walked right back out as we were to put off to even order a drink let alone eat at such an establishment. Not sure what kind of crowd this place caters to...but it definitely lacks any sophistication. Would NOT recommend. read more

Drink was good. Rolls were good. We asked for our appetizer first and got it after our rolls. Biggest issue- music selection. Needs to have a tropical or tiki vibe. Probably not a good idea to let the 20 -something bartender play DJ . Completely ruined the experience. In this day and age, this should not be an issue with all the online music options. read more

My friend and I went here after work on a Monday night. We stumbled upon the place unexpectedly but we were very surprised with the food and service. Everything was excellent. I ordered a Japanese Bagel and soup which was delicious. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The sitting is very nice. Outside tiki bar with high top tables next to the Koi pond. I highly recommend this place to any sushi lover. The menu is very extensive and they also offer various Japanese dishes. Overall we had an excellent experience. I highly recommend this place. Three stars is generous. .Signs were down so it was difficult to find. Loi bar looked cool but we ended up inside, probably a mistake. We werent interested in hibachi. We all had sushi. From apps to finish was just a series of errors. Slow , staggered service, missing components, wrong dishes. just challenging for us to enjoy when always waiting for corrections. Young inexperienced waitress was clueless. One star added for the very nice guy who greeted us and checked on us bc the waitress was lost somewhere. It was not busy, no excuse for this. Waiters were nice and understanding and the place looked very cool and neat, but the food is horrible, 35 dollars for a small plate of cold steak and noodles, plain noodles that tasted like hand sanitizer. everything is overpriced and all the food was cold. definitely don't recommend if you're looking for something nice to eat. read more

Incredible. Me and my friend showed up at 6:52 and didn't even know about the happy hour that ends at 7 and the server got to us promptly to get our happy hour orders in. Koi has been an accent to every stay we've had to our home in Bonita, however after tonight, I hesitate to recommend this restaurant to those that visit. Maria, the hostess was lovely. We called ahead and were told that reservations were not accepted. We walked in, Maria kindly arranged for an outdoor table to be set up for us. The servers... I've never seen such blatant avoidance at a dining establishment. They walked by our table and averted their eyes instantly. We sat for at least 15 minutes without ever being offered anything, not even a Hello. We ultimately got up and left. We were considering using this establishment for an upcoming event however now, we wouldn't even think of it. read more

After reading Kevin's review, I decided to give Koi a try. After all, I do love Tokyo Bay right next door with the same owners. Well, Kevin was not kidding about the fact that he would probably be there because he was! Sitting right there with his two adorable kids and his Sapporo. His review was right on. The atmosphere is lovely and casual. Outdoors with a thatched roof tiki bar. A perfect intimate space to enjoy the best sushi in town. I had the lobster roll and it was divine. Very generous pour on the happy hour wine which was a crisp Chardonnay. The bartender was attentive and personable. It all combined for a relaxed, delicious dining experience. They are adding live entertainment regularly, which will be a welcome addition to the Bonita Springs restaurant scene. I can't wait to go back and watch this place become the hottest spot in town. read more

Well I hate to be Debbie Downer, but my experience was not five stars or anywhere near it. Arrived at 5 on a Friday evening and only one other table of people in the place with another couple at the bar. Waited several minutes before anyone acknowledged we might not be invisible and we're waiting to be seated. Finally asked if we could just take any table and did. After another extended wait, menus arrived and bartender/server disappeared. At this point we contemplated leaving, but wanted to at least try the food and drink based on all those five star reviews. Tropical drinks arrived without any fruit, umbrellas, or other types of garnishes customary for this type of restaurant. Mind you I'm not downgrading this place just because I didn't get an umbrella, just saying! When the server finally reappeared to take our order, we asked some questions about the menu and it immediately became apparent that she was clueless. We chose to play it safe and ordered California, Mexican, and Calimari rolls and fried rice. The food was just average. I give this place one star for atmosphere, but that's all. read more
