Love the pavilion, which was recently renovated (2016 perhaps?). Fountains are cool. Lots of large trees. Several benches to sit on as long as you can avoid sitting on bird shit. As of Winter 2017, they were still working on the fence in the back section of the court. Park is pretty safe, especially during the day. Never had any vagrant issues or other problems here.

The trails usually have at least a few people walking and it feels very safe.

There's a tennis court and a real nice playground for the kiddies. Looks like a ship with plenty of room to climb, slides, swings of course and a unique rope swing as well. It's not the most impressive park overall but if you live nearby it's a nice spot to get some walking and outside playtime in!

It's fun seeing familiar faces - both human and pup. I like how it's separated into two spaces for both large and small dogs. We've only have wonderful experiences at this dog park :)

Highlights - Great place to walk, run, bike or walk your…read moredogs - Restaurants and places to get a drink are not far off the Strollway - Old Salem section is great - Runs from 4th Street to the Greenway The Downtown Strollway runs from Salem Avenue, past Old Salem and into downtown, ending (or beginning) on 4th Street. Great trail for walking, running, walking the dogs or riding a bike. The Old Salem section of the Strollway is a 5 star. The trail takes you right past Old Salem. You will pass right by the Old Salem Visitors Center and the Heritage Bridge. You can cross over the street using the bridge and visit Old Salem if you like. The trail in this section is wide enough for all people coming and going. If you follow the Strollway south you will end up at the Greenway, which you can take to Winston-Salem State or Salem Lake to the west, or Washington Park to the east, but that is another review. You do have to cross over a busy street (Salem Avenue) but there is a nice wine shop on the other side. The northern route past Old Salem takes you to downtown and ends at 4th Street. This takes you under Business 40 and past Corpening Plaza park. Nice part of this section is you end up right into the heart of all of the downtown restaurants on 4th Street. This section requires crossing 3 streets in downtown. The only reason I don't have the Strollway rated 5 stars is the section running under Business 40 can be a little sketchy. This will change after the Business 40 renovations are completed.

There are also a few picnic tables and a small climbing area for kids. Unless I was parking to the use the river or go biking a probably would not come back to this park.
