Over the following months, the company repeatedly cancelled or missed scheduled appointments. When I finally hired another appliance repair company, the technician determined that the problem was a broken timer knob, temporarily fixed it during the visit, and the replacement part cost just over $100. This was a very different diagnosis from the extensive repair originally proposed. While he had the dryer apart, he noticed the belt was cracked and had stretched over time. It was replaced. A thorough cleaning was done including sensors. The dryer is operating like new.
