She's been groomed every 3-4 months since she was 8-weeks old and is now 5-years old. Never once a complaint about her. Usually around $100 for grooming. The second picture is what my dog left Shampooches looking like today. $165 they charged because she "moved a lot on the table" and they had to completely shave her because "she had mats." My dog has been home for multiple hours, and is still terrified, squatting out of fear when you talk to her and keeps putting her ears back and flinching when I go to touch her. Never bring an animal you love to this place. Response to manager's comment: Good try, Ealen. I've never met you. And no one is going to believe that after coming to this place for 10 years between my two dogs and "always getting the same haircut" as you claim, I now suddenly have a problem with it. This all went down in early September 2021. After reading the glowing reviews I thought that I too would be able to write one up for them. Unfortunately that is not the case here. I want to start by saying that I had to leave a voicemail even though it was during their business hours. I have a 1 year old male corgi, who at the time was probably about 10 months old, and he had never been groomed before. This is vital information which I made sure that they were aware of in my first voicemail to them, and then again when I had spoken to someone on the phone, and again when they came to my car to get my puppy. So they do a car drop off and you call them and they will come to your car to get your dog. Pretty standard since Covid so I was fine with that. What should've been the "aha" moment for me was when the lady didn't use my leash to take him inside but instead she just picked him up. My boy is now roughly 28lbs but at the time he was exactly at 25lbs. That's not a small dog that you want to carry around, and I don't even carry him around at all. The vets office always takes him on our leash or on one of their own IF they are worried about sanitation. So this should've been my first red flag. I had of course mentioned he had never been groomed before, and when she asked what I wanted done I was very specific. I didn't want any part of him shaved except for his paw pads which is normal to be shaved out. I wanted a sanitary trim and his butt fluff to be trimmed as well, but not to touch his coat as he doesn't need that. They said they would call when he was ready and that it would take 2-3 hours or so before I would have to come back. I went about my day and was in Walnut Creek when they ended up calling. They called me to pick him up since he was anxious and I asked how he did and they said he was fine, but definitely to go get him as soon as I could. Well of course they had told me that they weren't sure how long it would take and that as long as I can get him by 4pm there wouldn't be any issue. The first time they called I had mentioned I was in the middle of something in Walnut Creek and I would be heading back in thirty minutes or so and that I would be there in about an hour. They then called me several times and asked how much longer when I had said initially an hour and it only ended up taking me about 45 minutes from the first call. My poor baby was super anxious when I picked him up and he just wanted to be with me so of course I let him do just about whatever he wanted and got out of there as soon as I had paid for the service. The grooming cost $70 and I added a $10 tip at payment and left without inspecting my dog since he couldn't sit still and was still super anxious. What I hadn't realized until the next day when we were home relaxing was that my dog was STILL traumatized and he had been shaved in several areas AND THEY CUT HIM. They shaved him which I had asked them not to, but no big deal it wasn't his coat so it wasn't the end of the world for me. BUT they didn't do anything to his paw pads which I had specifically asked them to do, which was the whole point of the grooming service. We typically have the vet techs trim his nails as needed, and since I am a cosmetologist I'll occasionally trim his sanitary area as needed. He doesn't like for me to touch his paws which is why the vet techs do it! So I was absolutely furious at this point. The receptionist talked to the woman who had groomed him, and she said nothing out of the ordinary and that he was fine the whole time. She then told me that the lady, Maria, was new! Which would've been fine if she had respected my wishes and done as I asked. The receptionist then spoke with the owner and said I could come back and have some sort of free or discounted services, but of course I didn't want to retraumatize my puppy and subject him to that again. I asked if they could do a partial refund since I can't see spending that amount on a poor service. I'm in the service industry and I know they still have bills to pay and after all he was washed and dried, and groomed to some extent. The owner was accepting of this and I ended up paying $50 total. Which I could in my opinion justify for the wash and dry and partial grooming that was done. I appreciate the owner and the receptionist for doing their part to make this right, but I hope that something was done about the fact that this even happened. read more

This is a decent place and not the best. 1. The price they mentioned over phone is different than what they charged. They said depending on the dogs temperament. My dog 13lbs and extremely friendly and mellow. Not sure what they observed to increase the price 2. Usually groomers pluck the hair inside the ear for cleanliness and the wax inside the ear to come out naturally if there are no hair blocking. This shop doesn't do that and was arguing and telling me to do it with vet. 3. They take a long time to groom the dog. read more

I took my mini doodle here today (20 lbs), they quoted me on the phone multiple times that it would be $10 for a small dog face clean up and $20 for a large dog face clean up. These prices are also on their website and wall. I took her in for a face clean up and when I went to pay they said it was $30 because she was a doodle and it was hard to blend. On the phone, I told them that she is a mini doodle and her weight, they said it was $10. Deceptive price gouging and they did a poor job. Would not recommend taking your dog here. read more

I used to take my dog there years ago and loved this place. I took my miniature schnauzer here recently and realized they have no idea how to groom a dog that you don't just shave down. I even tried twice. The first time I took her, they shaved her beard off and told me that her beard was matted and they had to shave it off. I think they actually shaved it on accident and made the excuse. The second time I brought her in, I did a full body comb with the small end of my metal comb to make sure there wasn't one mat on her anywhere. Dropped her off at 9 AM and at 3 PM. They called me and said they had to shave her whole body down because she was covered with mats. I told them they were not allowed to shave her down and I would come pick her up immediately. Upon picking her up, I asked them to show me where the mats were and they couldn't show me any mats. They said they were pinhead size mats, and that you can't see them with your eye you could feel them with a comb. I told them I combed her out with a small end of a metal comb and there wasn't any Matt's. I don't know if they just don't know how to scissor a dog or if they are waiting too late in the day to groom the dog and didn't have time to do a proper groom, but either way I wasted full days of my time trying to get my dog groomed to no avail. Spent $100 with them and had to go somewhere else and spend $100 to get her done properly. That's it for me. Never going there again big waste of money and time. If you have a doodle where they just shave it down no problem but if you have a dog that needs any scissoring, forget it. Dog owners beware! read more

We've had a very good experience bringing our small dogs here. They go to Eelan and come out clean, fresh & well groomed every time and are not scared to go. We go once every 6 weeks or so, so we're not the 2-3 cut per year type of crew. Not a fan of the new front desk person (if she's new) who's been at front desk the last few times we've gone- she hasn't been welcoming, friendly or helpful. If we were new, she might have put us off from returning, but since Eelan does great work with our dogs I just assume it may not be easy to get a consistent front desk person. We have gone here for 9 years with no major incident, however, my dog got a new "groomer" and all of a sudden my dog has arthritis and therefore she can't trim my dogs legs. It looks like she has leg warmers on. I didn't realize that "dog barbers" are such highly trained vets and a dog could develop such severe arthritis in 6 weeks that they can't trim their legs for fear of hurting them. The barber said she (the dog) was " not happy with them" and therefore for her safety and the safety of the dog she refused to trim the leg hair. My dog is a maltipoo, weighs 13 lbs and has literally 5 teeth sporadically on the bottom row only. She has never growled let alone tried to bite someone. Even if she did try, all they would get are gum marks. We came right home after two failed attempts to get them to cut it, I even told them I would hold her legs, and had zero issues with trimming her legs. She held her legs out like she was getting her nails done. This place has gone downhill since the new ownership. read more
