My current dog, a rescue toy poodle, has always been terrified of the groomer so Jane makes sure that he is in and out quickly. They shave him down and do such a good job! I've been bringing all my dogs to Jane Riley and her team since 1996 to trim or dremel their strong black nails. They all received thorough but careful attention by each of the groomers without any injuries. Jane's experience and knowledge was especially appreciated when one of my pups needed very long nails trimmed a couple months after recovering from surgery. We had requested our tabby cat to be trimmed. See picture before he got trimmed. When we brought him home we were disappointed that the trim was closer to a "buzz" cut you would get in the military. My dog, Bella, passed away after her last visit here. While I don't think the groomer caused her to choke, based on xrays and Dr.s opinions. I do not believe they were not paying attention to her while she was vomiting. It's a tragic loss to our family. I had to go to the groomer to pick up my other dog and they charged me for the grooming, even though I just had to euthanize Bella. I thought this was heartless. Anyway. I won't be back read more

Took Zero in again this past weekend. His fur in between his toes, anal glands, and nails were all ready to be taken care of again. He did much better with this visit. Last time he was scared a bit since it was within the first couple of days with his final shots. He was more adapted to other dogs, environment, dryers, kennels, and other dogs. When I took my dog here about 1 year ago, I loved it. Since then it appears they have gone thru several employees and I have felt that the last three times she was groomed it was from a beginner. The cuts were horrible, excuses were made for not cleaning her ears and her nails were sharp. The price is also quite high for what you get. I last paid $150 for a $25 cut. I referred a family member who took his dog several times and he felt the exact same... I won't be back. read more

I have been going to Jane Riley through four Scottish Terriers. I have had other groomers through the years in different cities, but by far, Jane has always been the best. Her service is exemplary. Her prices are competitive. Our current Scottie Katy always looks beautiful and we know she feels great. I really prefer Jane's new location to the previous Alamo Plaza. The location is convenient in the heart of Danville. It is a private drive behind Trader Joes. Parking is a breeze. I hope she stays in business forever, because honestly no one can make Katy look this beautiful. And I know she feels good when she comes out. The last visit was under 2 hours. We brought our dog for a 9 am "appointment". At 12:30pm, I called to see if my dog grooming was completed. No one answered! I went to the salon and asked about my dog. The groomer was rude and didn't know where my dog was placed. After looking around, he went to the back room and found my dog in a cage. The dog had not been groomed and was shaking with fear. I took the dog and left...never to return! How does a groomer lose a dog and not complete the job in 3.5 hours? I was appalled by the attitude of the employee and the service. They made my dogs paws bleed! He was in so much pain, and when we found him he was in a tiny cage! And there were other dog crying horribly. Please do not take your dog here if you want to him in good conditions. My dog wasn't even cleaned that well! Sure it's cheap but not that cheap. read more

I have a 4 year old, 110 pound long haired Shiloh Shepherd that HATES to be bathed. She's a good dog, but she turns into Cujo when you add water. She hates her nails trimmed, ears cleaned, anything. She can be very intimidating too as she growls, fights and will even bite (lightly) when you try to bath or other wise "mess" with her. I have had to sedate and muzzle her to be groomed (at another place) and they still couldn't do a good job. She has an extremely thick undercoat that has to be blown out with a dryer and requires a lot of brushing once or twice a year when she blows her coat. I took her to Chantall and was seriously amazed when she said she didn't even have to muzzle her. My beast was putty in her hands. Chantall just has a way with my dog that no one else has been able to obtain. My dog also LOVES her. Her experience has always been positive here and it has helped her fear of grooming. Chantall is patient, kind, and takes great care of her and does a great job. I highly recommend. Dog and Cat Laundromat has been in business in Alamo for at least 20 (maybe more) years , in the same location. That alone says a lot. I have taken many dogs here over the 20+ years I have lived in Alamo. The owner is awesome, and Chantall and Sharon are the best! Great, great shop. You can trust them with your pups! read more

My five year old Whippet boy goes in about once a month for his nail trimming. When we first began going, my boy was hesitant. Now, after three years he walks right in. Jane greets us at the desk. Karen gives a very nice nail trim - he puts up with it very well. The best part is that he knows that Karen will give him a couple of treats when he is finished with the hard work! Brought my large breed dog for a bath and summer trim. My dog was there ~7 hours, but there was a lot of work to be done. Trim was ok - not necessarily even all over, but she smelled nice and clean. Her ears were nicely trimmed. They seem very nice and my dog seemed to be fine. They had a large crate, so she was able to stand up without having to duck her head. read more

I was easily able to make an appt. for my cat to be groomed here. They seemed accomodating for any requests. She came back to us brushed, fluffy, soft and nice smelling! My only concern was that there are cats meowing and dogs barking. I'm sure it's upsetting for kitty, but not sure what choice we have with these types of services. read more

I had been avoiding taking my miniature Schnauzer in for grooming due to continued bad experiences with a popular groomer in San Ramon (who shall remain unnamed). I discovered Dog & Cat Laundromat when I was at High Tech Burrito and decided to give them a call on an early Saturday morning. They were professional and courteous from the start. Their shop is clean and spacious. And to top it off, the staff was affectionate and sweet to my dog. I opted for a puppy cut instead of the traditional Schnauzer cut. When I picked him up, it was the best cut I had ever seen on him. The brown stains from his beard were gone. His eyes were trimmed perfect, his toe nails clipped, and he wasn't stressed out. The price was a little more than the "puppy mill" groomer in San Ramon, but it was worth every extra penny. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new groomer in town. read more

I have a Newfoundland named Penny. She weighs 160 pounds and is my sweetheart. She has a long coat and undercoat. She also didnt like to go to the groomer. Every time we went, she would dig her heels in and when she doesnt want to go somewhere, good luck! I never took her back to the same place, cuz it was obvious, by her tucked tail, she didnt like them. I kept trying new places trying to find one penny liked. Then i tried this place Penny loved Sharon - it was easy to see! Penny is a big job. Penny is so excited to go see Sharon. She even know which holding pen is hers and can't wait to get into it. When the dog you love is loved and adored by another person, then you feel good about leaving them. Sharon does an exceptional job and the pricing -for THIS job is better than other groomers. read more

I just took my St Bernard here for the first time yesterday and they were awesome! They had a big cage for him to wait in and when I picked him up, he looked amazing. Although he was happy to see me when I walked in the door, he was in no hurry to leave which tells me he didn't feel too bad about getting bathed (which he hates).
