We were staying in Medora. The weather was the hottest all summer and that particular Tuesday it was 96 and sunny all day. Normally not a complaint. However, when staying in a campground with bare shade, in a tent, a 40 minute drive to Wibaux doesn't seem like a hardship. The Shamrock Club did not disappoint. Regardless of the weather, the drive would have been worth the burger. It was like two juicy patties stuck together and flattop grilled to perfection. My kids claim it was the best French fries ever and the kids chicken tender was a very healthy portion. Plus the waitress kept our sodas full to the top the whole time. Being from Minnesota, I decided to brave the potato salad. Not knowing what assorted vegetables Montana puts in their salad, I knew it was a risk. And boy, was it worth it! It's been a few years since I had been in. I had a classic cheese burger with loaded baked potato. They grill the bun nice touch, I like a grilled bun. Our server was friendly. No idea how this place doesn't have more reviews. Stopped here on a roadtrip from T Roosevelt National Park. The food is absolutely amazing. I'm a little bummed that the kitchen doesn't open until 4 but their soup and salad bar was an acceptable alternative. I had two plates of salad and two bowls of soup. Hey, the last meal I had was in North Dakota and the next one won't be until South Dakota. Service was fine. When you're done, tour the displays of guns on the walls. Tip: If you're heading south on MT-7, find gas before you go. It's 150 miles before you stumble across a gas station. I came *this close* to running out. read more

Stopped in Wibaux for lunch off the I94. Went to the Beaver Creek Brewery, but they didn't serve food until 4:00. They sent us the Shamrock for takeout to bring back. OrderEd mushroom cheeseburgers and they we the best!! Real mushrooms fried with butter and the burger was legit! The Shamrock's atmosphere was "old town dive bar" but their kitchen is killing it. read more

We've been going here for awhile and it is fairly good. But this Saturday was different. They were busy as usual and the waitress wrote our name down because there was "nowhere to sit" but had four dirty tables in the back that needed to be cleaned off and all the did was stand up by the register and chit chat. Fast forward after 20 minutes of waiting we decided we were going to just sit on the table in front of the bar. We asked the bartender if that was okay and asked if he had to notify the waitress that he sat us there and we were rudely told he wasn't going to chase anyone down and he walked away. First impression was good. The owners sister was there and she was pretty friendly. The soup and salad bar was all that was available and looked good. However, looks can be deceiving. The "home made" dressings were DISGUSTING! The potato salad was very bland. The noodle salad had canned chicken and was bland as well but probably the best thing they had. The dumplings were hard in the soup. The noodles in the beef tomato noodle soup were way mushy. Then, upon telling her that one of us couldn't eat ANY of it because it was just too gross, she treated us like crap, argued with us for about five minutes about how good everyone else thinks it is, and told us that we needed to pay because we dished it up and she couldn't put it back. Had a 16oz ribeye, was cooked to my liking. Medium rare, rare plus. Had a nice dusting of seasoning. For me I could have used more of it. Got a side of mushrooms. They were pretty good. If you are looking for good food at a great price, this is the place! It has everything from steaks to fish and has become one of my favorite places. The Walleye dinner is less than $20 and includes two large fillets and two sides...I typically have the cowboy potatoes and broccoli, plus salad bar..which has always been fresh.
