Shamrock is fantastic. I wandered in one evening because I've had probably 70% of a full sleeve done for the past 4 years and when I left the area my previous artist was in, I wasn't motivated to find someone I liked again. Now that I'm getting married in May, the pressure was on. I went to a different shop somewhere else and had part of it worked on but the style wasn't quite right so I was still browsing. When I went in, I ended up talking to Jay, the owner, and he was fantastic. He ended up being able to get me in pretty quickly and I've been so happy with his work. I've been for three rounds and we're hopeful the next is the one that finishes this thing once and for all. Jay did an awesome job blending his work with the work of the previous artist and even making improvements to what was done before. Call me crazy but my sleeve was initially "this is what I'm thinking, you're the artist, run with it" and I just trusted him to do what he thought would work - and it's absolutely killer. The color, the detail, all of it. It's awesome. He's also really good at distraction when it's particularly uncomfortable. This last time he was up in my upper inner arm (pretty much my armpit) and I wasn't too excited about it. He kept me distracted and even mentioned he wouldn't have liked sitting for that spot for as long as I had. I appreciated the validation for it. They're also super reasonable guys. Other artists charge by the hour and they charge by the piece which, in my opinion, has been much more reasonable. Jay is super talented and I highly recommend anyone to check them out! read more

As a 66 year old man going for a first time tattoo ( on my wrist) I was very nervous but Jay put me at ease and reassured me that I would make it through. It took about 10 minutes and even though it was uncomfortable at times it was tolerable and Jay was very compassionate and gentle as possible and resulted in an excellent piece of work ( my deceased dog's footprint) that I am happy to have and has been admired by my friends ( despite them still thinking I was crazy to do it). the shop is very clean and all the people working there are friendly and accommodating. Don't have a single bad thing to say about the guys at shamrock! They're great! I walked in on a Tuesday during lunch, without an appointment. I told them i wanted to have a word tattooed on my ribs. They said "no problem!" He went in the back and brought back a bunch of fonts to discuss with me. I already knew what I wanted and it was one of the options he had picked as well. He came back with the stencil and made sure the size was perfect. I asked for a slight tweak, which he accommodated. He got set up, did the tattoo quickly and as painlessly as possible! The shop was bright, clean, and friendly. I felt very comfortable even though im sure it was a super boring tattoo for an artist capable of real art. I paid (and tipped) and the other guys in the store were joking that I should have tipped less!! Haha I would definitely go back for any future tattoos. read more

The location was been home to Duffy's years back and more recently the American Legion Hall while they waited for their new space to be constructed in Blueback. This is my second visit to this business. I stopped by earlier just prior to their grand opening and received a great tour of the business. This is a very nice, hard working group of artists. The facility is clean, and as pointed out to me, they pay great attention to Hygiene. Many of the designs that comprise their body of work are on display there in the studio. With permission you may be able see a work of body art take shape before your eyes. Definitely worth checking out if you are shopping around. read more

I would say that I had a 5-star experience with Greg and a 4-star experience with Jay. I made an appointment with Greg and got exactly what I wanted. Greg was very kind and patient with me as I got my first tattoo. I did a walk-in with Jay and felt like he didn't fully listen to what I asked of him. THAT SAID, my tattoo still came out beautifully and I am happy with it overall. I went to get my first tattoo here cause my brother also got his first here and his came out pretty good (not my style but he loves it and the line work was great) so I had high hopes for this place. I got there and everything was fine he showed me a stencil of the tattoo and it did look kinda messed up but I figured he's the artist he'll know how to work around it and he knows what he's doing (I was a dumb kid and should've expressed my concerns) I didn't notice it was so badly messed up until I got home and unwrapped it a day later. The ink is splotchy and not even bold in some places it looks like an unfinished piece even though he said I don't need another session. He messed up everything about it the face,the hands,the feet etc. if he couldn't do the tattoo I wish he had told me instead of just doing it or recommended a different tattoo I had many others which I told him I wanted also and were probably better suited for his tattooing style instead he fucked up something that is gonna be on my body forever. I have to get it covered up or removed cause it's such an embarrassing tattoo. I should want to show off artwork not have to hide it. I don't remember the artists name but he was an older man than the other two I don't even know if he's there anymore but he's not a good artist for this style. I have thankfully found a way better shop that's also closer to me. read more

Everyone is very friendly and professional. Came in on a weekday afternoon and had to schedule an appointment. I wanted a copy of a bike chain cog, but I didn't have one to give them to replicate so one of the guys offered to bring one in for my appointment. The stencil was exactly what I was expecting and it turned out great. Greg did it in 30 minutes with minimal pain and it was pretty much fully healed in a little over a week. Went there spontaneously to get two finger tattoos after hearing good reviews by word if mouth. My first one is the letters BL on my pointer finger, came out ok the next was an anchor on my middle finger, nothing about this anchor is even!!!! The lines are all crooked and tilted, the arrows are two totally different shapes and sizes!!! This is a very nice clean tattoo shop. I came in a few weeks and I was greeted with smiles and it was very clean and professional. I went on a Saturday and just did a walk in and ended up getting tattooed by Jay. He is very nice and friendly and takes tattoos and designs them so they have a personal touch. I just had another appointment with him and he did four tattoos on me and they came out amazing. I walked out of the shop with another appointment booked with him. I went to Shamrock Tattoo Studio after visiting 3 other shops. I talked to Jake P about my plans for my tattoo cover up. He drew a rough sketch showing me what would be needed for an effective cover up right on my arm. I set the appointment for the next day and left the shop with a good feeling about the appointment.
