I attended my daughters Bridal Shower yesterday at Shandon Court. It was a nice affair but a couple of things bothered me and not the restaurants fault really, just things one should know if planning to have an affair here. There is no elevator. The catering room for a smaller party is upstairs and there are about 20-25 steps to climb up. My daughters Great Aunt could not attend the shower because of this as she is not well and could never climb the stairs. Especially, the rest rooms are downstairs! Something to also consider for people who will have to carry heavy gifts up those stairs, you'll be carrying everything down! There was a baby shower taking place in the downstairs catering room which was huge so if your event will be a big one, this shouldn't affect your decision to visit here! I knew that this venue emphasized their restrictions on decorating, no hanging things on the walls, taping things to furniture, etc. But, right there sitting on the table was a sign in an upright stand stating this. It didnt belong there and that was just very tacky to me! Service I have to say was very good and the staff was attentive. They accomodated me with a Ceasar Salad as I couldn't eat the choice of salads selected ahead of time. The food was OK, nothing stood out to me to say it was delicious but the guests enjoyed themselves! Rhe cookies and pastries were very good! The occasion cake was presented very nicely on the outside but the filling inside was mostly cake and whipped cream. There was just a sliver of strawberry filling so that was a little disappointing! I may go back for dinner one night to try their regular menu. My review was based solely on my experience of having an affair here! read more

i was there this past weekend - 1st time there - the bartenders were Great . we had reservations at 7:00pm. Got there early for a drink. Hence the bartenders . the hostess said about 5 minutes . at 7:05 - at 7:20 we were still waiting and the place was not that packed. Such a nice experience here. The environment is cozy, warm and comfortable. I felt so relaxed and the decor was very old school pub with the wood and details. The food and service were excellent. They have party rooms available separate from the restaurant and they were both active. We had a great time here and are already planning on returning! read more

Shandon Court Time to throw out an aptly-timed review with this just-happening trip to Shandon Court on none other than the day of the Irish, St. Patrick's Day. Though believe it or not, my trip here was for a rehearsal dinner and not necessarily for any green beer festivities so I'll tread lightly on this three star experience. I mean for the rehearsal dinner setup and people there it was great, but taking things from a Yelper's eye changes that "great" word to more of a meh. For starters, our servers looked like the cast of Superbad. Three young and somewhat clueless fellas manned most of the passing apps, food distribution, and dinner orders. That word clueless might sound harsh, but when we asked about the "Jamison chicken", the dude had no idea what was in or on it. Also, we're convinced the guy first said "ground beef and cabbage" before we asked him to repeat the choices in which he stumbled over the words and corrected himself to saying "corned beef." Phew... I will give a shoutout to the bartender as he mixed drinks quickly and was a friendly chap. Though I'm not sure who to blame for the lack of any Guinness upstairs in the room where the dinner was. C'mon, it was St. Paddy's Day! At least I did get to eat some ground...I mean corned beef (heh heh) which was halfway decent in flavor. The creamy horseradish sauce that came with it was a nice touch. What wasn't so appetizing was the cabbage as it was flavorless and didn't really do much for the meal. I'm not expecting a lot out of cabbage, but this was pretty sad. Overall, I wasn't necessarily impressed with Shandon Court. I know they have a restaurant/pub area and a bigger catering hall, but I can't say I'd seek them out for any drinking action or larger events. There's plenty of other places to get my Paddy's Day on if I so choose to. For now, I'll just remember tonight as a fun time with some friends to rehearse/celebrate an upcoming wedding. Great after hours spot. The times I have visited i have aways had a great time and nice service. This is a popular spot for the townspeople often hosting large events and parties. Definitely a hanging spot to take out of town guests or those folks, like me, returning to their roots. read more

Usually a good experience and we consider ourselves regulars (about 1 time per month) but tonight not so much. 7:35 pm August 22 my wife and I went to have dinner there after a week of work. We went to the hostess station and was told by the hostess, "there is not enough servers to seat you". Not going back and could not give a "zero" rating. read more

Some good, some not so good is how I'd describe last nights dinner at Shandon Court. We had a 6:45 Open Table reservation and were promptly seated outside. For an appetizer, we ordered the fried calamari. The calamari was good but the sauce was extremelyyyy spicy. Too much jalapeño. Also something I'm not used to: the calamari was mushy and not crunchy. I didn't mind that, though. It was hard to chew since the squid was so mushy. For our entrees, I had the penne a la vodka with a side of steak fries and my fiancé had the seared scallops. My fiancé enjoyed his meal and I enjoyed the steak fries (which are very hard to come by these days). My penne was super tasteless. Lacked the flavor I know. Major bummer here. Super annoyed they do not offer free refills here. Got charged twice for my soda. It's a soda, people!!!! When my fiancé received the bill, he said the total was way too high for what it was worth. It's 2025, how can any restaurant not have vegan options. How hard is it to put a beyond burger, impossible burger, or veggie burger on the menu? Answer- not hard at all. So the ironic thing is I came here for a baby shower just a little over 8 years after my own bridal shower was held here. It was just as lovely as it was 8 years ago. My shower was in their catering room downstairs, while the baby shower I attended was in the room upstairs. It was just a flight of stairs away to your left, as soon as you walk in. The tables were spaced out nicely and we found a nice size one to sit at with our friends. It was a buffet brunch and I filled my plate with bacon, breakfast sausage, and quiche. They had other items like French toast, penne a la vodka and chicken francese. Everyone said everything was tasty! I really enjoyed my quiche which had onions and ham in it. The bacon was cooked well and that's how I like it! For dessert they brought out homemade apple strudel and you can get a scoop of ice cream on top if you like. That was super tasty as well!! They also had coffee, tea and mimosas. All in all it was, once again, a great experience and a wonderful place to host an event :) read more

I don't often leave poor reviews but I feel strongly that my experience here needs to be shared. I took my 4yr old here for a daddy/daughter lunch date over the weekend. When you enter, the ambiance is warm and inviting. We were greeted by a hostess who seemed surprised we were there for lunch but promptly secured a lunch menu and a kids menu. I asked if they were serving dinner menu items at this time because my daughter wanted a steak to go with her fried calamari. The hostess checked with the manager and the manager said just lunch and kids menu at this time. No problem, there are steak sandwiches on the lunch menu. The place was empty so we were offered our choice of table. We ordered the flash fried calamari and French onion soup to start. My daughter ended up getting chicken fingers and I went with the beef dip for entree's. One bite out of the beef dip and I spit it out. The meat tasted old like it was reheated more than once. I placed the dish to the side and when the server approached to ask about the food, I said I don't like that sandwich. His response was, ok what do you want to do about it? I informed him that I won't be paying for that sandwich, it does not taste good. He said ok and took the plate away. He returned shortly thereafter and asked if I wanted to order something else. By then, I was hesitant because of how bad that sandwich tasted but I said ok. Server proceeded to retrieve a menu. When he gave me the menu he then asked, if I was hungry? I said, that's why we're here and hopefully you can appreciate my hesitation on ordering something else. To which the waiter snickered, because you won't like it? I ignored the comment and proceeded to order the burger. Meanwhile, my daughter was nearly done eating. The manager approached our table and asked about my daughter wanting steak. I said yes, she usually likes steak on our outings but when I asked you said only the lunch and kids menu. Manager responded, I wish I would've known the kitchen could've done that for you. I'm sorry. By the time the burger arrived, my daughter was asking to leave; she's 4. I sliced the burger in half and hoped for the best. Burger was edible but nothing to write home about. All told, it was a $70 outing with tip. Glad I got to spend time with my daughter; I work long hours in the city during the week and she's usually sleeping by the time I get home. As a member of the community, I wish I had a better tale to tell about one of the local spots. read more

We held our daughter in law's baby shower here. Would NOT book an event here in the future. There are 2 rooms dedicated to private events and we had one of those, which was a very nice room. Unfortunately they held 4 events there at the same time ( used the 2 private rooms and then separated the dining room for 2 more events). This created a few issues. First, almost every guest said they had trouble finding a parking spot. Second, and this is what really mattered was that our party (65 people) was not fully staffed. We had a dedicated hostess that we had to keep looking for as she wasn't in the room. We had teenaged kids (sometimes 2, sometimes 3) serving the buffet which consisted of 4 main dishes and 2 sides. One of the sides was roasted potatoes and THEY WERE SERVING EACH GUEST ONE POTATO!!! We asked for the food to be served at 1:45 and it was served at 2:15 (shower started at 1:00). Bottom Line: Food was delicious and gets 4.5 out of 5 stars. Service was severely lacking and in my opinion they shouldn't book more than 2 parties at a time. read more

I really wanted to like the place. It was very pretty inside, and well decorated. They were very accommodating when we went to lunch and sat us almost promptly. For the most part, the food was decently good. But the service was pretty bad. I don't expect much. I've been to many places, good and bad, and this was pretty bad. Everyone except one person got their appetizer, and had to wait another half hour hungry. The fish & chips were brought out without tartar sauce or ketchup. Waitress nowhere to be found for 20 minutes at a time, on a seemingly not very crowded time. When the mediocrely dry pasta came out, one person got a much bigger portion than the other. When I brought it up, the response was nothing. No action. Really...I wasn't asking for a steak. Why not work with me on the pasta? I did not come out of there with a warm feeling of wanting to go back. But the ambiance was nice enough, so maybe. read more

We went here for a celebration of life. I believe there is 30 people we were sitting outside and there's a nice covered area. The bartender was super nice and very helpful with picking out wines. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive and the food was very good. Because it was an events it was a limited menu They have steak Diane, chicken, and a pasta. I got the chicken and it was tender juicy and perfectly cooked. It was served with fresh green beans which I was very happy with and they were cooked perfectly not too hard not to soggy. For dessert it was an odd take on an apple pie. It was more like an apple strudel with ice cream and it was super delicious. I'm not an apple pie person but this was absolutely fabulous. read more

My husband and I are so thrilled with our experience yesterday at Shandon Court. The team here could not have been more accommodating and the service was impeccable. We came to the restaurant after my son's Baptism and were set up in the lounge area. Everything was ready for us, table was beautiful! Had never heard of Shandon, so didn't know what to expect. So what I can say is my expectations were certainly exceeded. The food, the service, the entertainment and the bartender all were very good. And the cocktail hour food was excellent and plentiful. The upstairs party room is very nice for a small to medium size affair and offers privacy from the downstairs party. Hint: Tip the bartender well on your first drink. It will pay off later on. Shandon earns a solid 4 star. read more

We visited Shandon Court on a quiet Sunday afternoon, Tom, the bartender couldn't have been nicer, at our request he made drink and food suggestions that were spot on. The corn beef sandwich and sweet potato fries were amazing. There were two fairly large parties going on, however, the service was exceptional and the restaurant was beautiful. I had a party there on 06/18/2022. There were complaints about all the food. Pasta was dry , had no sauce on it . Should have been all's vodka. All the entrees were horrible. We purchased the drink package of beer , wine and soda. The only beverage that you could actually drink was the wine. My guests went downstairs to the bar to but drinks because the beer was flat and so was the soda. When I complained and asked to be compensated I was told that I should have said something at the party. Well apparently my children did and then the bartender admitted there was an issue. The owners still refused compensation me. I was so embarrassed when I found out that my guests were having to buy their own drinks after the package was purchased. Well I will not be going there ever again. Neither will my friends. Don't waste your money go elsewhere. What a disappointment. read more

We held my daughter's baby shower at Shandon Court this weekend in the downstairs event room. Everything was perfect! The room was beautiful and very comfortable for our 60-person event. There was definitely room for more tables if you're having a larger group. The food was incredible. Everyone was raving about the penne alla vodka. The servers were friendly and efficient and kept the buffet and drink stations filled. The catering manager, Kristen, kept everything running smoothly. We would definitely hold another event there. read more

My wife and I are celebrating our 35fh Anniversary so my children and wonderful sister-in-law Jo said that wanted to take us to dinner. For me it's the best thing in the world to have all my children and grandchildren together for dinner. So they give us just an address and tell us to be there at 5:30 PM. Now they were very secretive about where we were going to eat because my youngest daughter was concerned that I might Yelp it ahead of time. She knows me well. So we get there at 5:30 and are led to the rear dining room. Not a dinner at all but a surprise party for us with family & friends. So the rest of the night was a blurr for me because I started crying at "Surprise ". Oh boy in starting to cry now just thinking about it. All I know is that everyone had a great time and my children and sister-in-law said that the management was fabulous. For me a dinner that I will remember forever, so I encourage you to try it.
