Literally my favorite place in east islip! Thomas the bartender is awesome !!!!!!! Dragon chicken is amazing !! I'm just so sad the burrata is not on the menu anymore ! :( please bring it back ! Thank you in advance

Hosted a baby shower this past weekend. Everything was perfect. The set up, the food and the service was all first rate! The room was perfect and inviting. Donna was so helpful with food selections and very accommodating with her time, and extremely patient with all my questions. Dawn, our maitre'd, was a rock star!

Such a nice experience here. The environment is cozy, warm and comfortable. I felt so relaxed and the decor was very old school pub with the wood and details. The food and service were excellent. They have party rooms available separate from the restaurant and they were both active. We had a great time here and are already planning on returning!

Shandon Court Time to throw out an aptly-timed review with this just-happening trip to Shandon Court on none other than the day of the Irish, St. Patrick's Day. Though believe it or not, my trip here was for a rehearsal dinner and not necessarily for any green beer festivities so I'll tread lightly on this three star experience. I mean for the rehearsal dinner setup and people there it was great, but taking things from a Yelper's eye changes that "great" word to more of a meh. For starters, our servers looked like the cast of Superbad. Three young and somewhat clueless fellas manned most of the passing apps, food distribution, and dinner orders. That word clueless might sound harsh, but when we asked about the "Jamison chicken", the dude had no idea what was in or on it. Also, we're convinced the guy first said "ground beef and cabbage" before we asked him to repeat the choices in which he stumbled over the words and corrected himself to saying "corned beef." Phew... I will give a shoutout to the bartender as he mixed drinks quickly and was a friendly chap. Though I'm not sure who to blame for the lack of any Guinness upstairs in the room where the dinner was. C'mon, it was St. Paddy's Day! At least I did get to eat some ground...I mean corned beef (heh heh) which was halfway decent in flavor. The creamy horseradish sauce that came with it was a nice touch. What wasn't so appetizing was the cabbage as it was flavorless and didn't really do much for the meal. I'm not expecting a lot out of cabbage, but this was pretty sad. Overall, I wasn't necessarily impressed with Shandon Court. I know they have a restaurant/pub area and a bigger catering hall, but I can't say I'd seek them out for any drinking action or larger events. There's plenty of other places to get my Paddy's Day on if I so choose to. For now, I'll just remember tonight as a fun time with some friends to rehearse/celebrate an upcoming wedding. Let's keep it at that.

Disappointed in $3.95 charge each soda without notification... just keep.filing! Best service, phenomenal traditional Irish fare, live music is always consistent, parking ample and worth 1 hr drive to enjoy. Affordable dinners, drinks, and desserts.

Some good, some not so good is how I'd describe last nights dinner at Shandon Court. We had a 6:45 Open Table reservation and were promptly seated outside. For an appetizer, we ordered the fried calamari. The calamari was good but the sauce was extremelyyyy spicy. Too much jalapeño. Also something I'm not used to: the calamari was mushy and not crunchy. I didn't mind that, though. It was hard to chew since the squid was so mushy. For our entrees, I had the penne a la vodka with a side of steak fries and my fiancé had the seared scallops. My fiancé enjoyed his meal and I enjoyed the steak fries (which are very hard to come by these days). My penne was super tasteless. Lacked the flavor I know. Major bummer here. Super annoyed they do not offer free refills here. Got charged twice for my soda. It's a soda, people!!!! When my fiancé received the bill, he said the total was way too high for what it was worth. Probably won't be back here.

Have been here a few times for lunch. They had great deals on bottles of wine and a beautiful little patio. All of the food I have tried here has been incredible. I was here for Easter and the lamb shank was absolutely to die for

This place would get a 3.5, but I'm rounding down for reasons I will say in the review…read more I started off by seeing this place by searching for fish and chips. Seeing they had a Wednesday special, I decided to put off my adventure from Roslyn to Ronkonkoma from Monday to Wednesday. I also found a bunch of things I was interested in to pad my experience and make the drive worth it. The waitress came quickly, got our drink orders, took a few minutes, and we started our order. I started off by getting the Fire Island Fries, the Flanagan's Nachos minus Jalapenos and Chipotle Ranch, sub the chicken in, the Fish and Chips special with additional pay for French Onion Soup and Curry sauce, and my friend got the Penne Alla Vodka add chicken. I asked how the Mozzarella sticks were and she said they were very popular so I got those as well. We'll start with my addition. The mozzarella sticks are good. Fried properly, not raw, not burnt, you get I believe 9 in an order. I greatly enjoyed them, however I would never pay more than a buck for a small brick of cheese. They were great, but not that great. The nachos were very barebones, something getting them at full capacity wouldn't have done much for. The queso is gross, and put me off from eating too much. The avocado was a single, sliced avocado which is fine, but pretty hard to eat with chips. The chicken was a bit of an issue, not tasting great. The fire island fries were good, I enjoyed the flavor change, but I feel like some cheddar would have made them from "good" to "amazing". Adding cheddar to my leftovers later confirmed that. The french onion soup was the shiniest turd I've had the experience of eating. It is the best of the worst, in every way. The cheese tastes a bit off, the broth did't have much flavor or salt, the onions were sour, and overall it looks tremendous, proper quality, but tasted like I was eating expired progresso with some sour cheese melted over it. I love proper French Onion soup, but this was very difficult to force myself to eat. The penne alla vodka was fine, but they could have added more salt, it just felt a little bland. The chicken was hard and dry. It didn't work with the dish itself, it felt like eating two different things at once, neither of them tasting as good as they should. The fish and chips were the real star. The fish was as crunchy as you expect, the chips were proper chips. The curry was hot but delicious, everything was absolutely fantastic. If I was reviewing on the fish and chips alone, this place would absolutely get five dtars. But they need to work on the other areas of their menu, they're heavily dragging this place down. I also got the donut with ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. A donut from dunkin would have been better in my opinion, and you would save $10 assembling everything yourself. Finally, the service. It was very here and there. At first, we were getting checked up on often, but at the end, there was a good 20 minute stint where they wouldn't show up at our table and we had to flag them over to get our check. I'm not rating this against them, but I would have liked a little more observation. It was a one and done place, with excellent fish and chips this side of the pond. If I was closer, this would be a Wednesday night thing, but I'm too far to justify that.

This place isn't trying for polished restaurant experience, and honestly, that's kinda part of its charm. It feels like the kind of spot where the bar comes first and the kitchen supports it if this makes sense. The atmosphere is a neighborhood hangout feel. You can tell it's a local spot--people walking in were greeted by name, and there's a familiar, lived-in vibe that makes it feel welcoming if you're a regular, and easy enough to settle into if you're not. Food-wise, the corned beef on both the Gaiety and the Finnegan's Wake sandwiches stood out--tender, flavorful, and generous. Both sandwiches came with fries, and while I appreciate skin-on fries, these leaned a bit soggy rather than crispy. Overall, this is a solid spot if you go in with the right expectations. It's less of a destination restaurant and more of a go-to pub where you can grab a drink, and enjoy pub food. If you're looking for a lively, casual bar with good portions and a strong local following, it delivers--even if not everything on the plate is perfect. I think I'd like to make an update review after trying a few more dishes. At a glance, 3.5 with overall good experience.

Served with Hound fries LOBSTER TRAP Creamy lobster mac and cheese finished with toasted old bay panko. Topped with a double smash burger on a toasted brioche bun, candied bacon, sharp cheddar, pickled red onions and an Old Bay roasted garlic aioli. Crispy onions and scallions I chose the Cuban and when they say Colossal they meant it. It could easily feed 2 even 3 people. The pork was outstanding, the ham a bit overcooked and warning the cherry pepper relish has a real kick so if you're not into spicy be ware. The fries were shoestring with their signature seasoning blend. I took home more then half. Once the bingo started it cleared out a bit but still busy. The pretzel sticks are served piping hot, you can see the steam coming off them as you dip them in the great tasting cheese. The are soft any nicely salted, just the right amount of salt. The chicken tenders arrived covered in a great tasting barbecue sauce. Baby carrots, a side of extra barbecue sauce, and blue cheese completed the dish. There are plenty of tenders in the order, enough so that we took some home for another meal. The barbecue sauce was nice and tangy and complemented the tenders perfectly. The heifer burger was served on a nice soft bun alone with crispy bacon and gorgonzola cheese. Could have had more cheese for my taste but no complaints on what was done with it. The burger was cooked a perfect medium rare and it was well seasoned and very large. It came with a large portion of French fries and pickles on the side. The fries were very crispy and stayed hot throughout the meal. This was definitely a great meal. Service was very good as our server was very attentive and took good care of us. Most of the time, when I drop a lot of money on a "boutique" cookie, I end up sorely disappointed in its over-sweet or way-too-crunchy character. I had just had a spicy Indian lunch and needed something to counteract the curry, so I thought I'd take a chance on a Groovy Cookie. The supersized Chocolate Chip looked a little overwhelming, so I opted for the package of normal-sized ones. I was a little concerned that these wouldn't be as soft and gooey as the large one, but as soon as I popped one out of the package, I was proved wrong. This thing felt like it was straight out of the oven. "Uh oh," I thought. "There's got be a catch. This must be one of those chemical experiment confections that tastes nothing like a real cookie." But after the first bite, my theory was shot and my cookie snobbiness was instantly humbled. "This..." I remember thinking, "is THE BEST chocolate chip cookie I have ever tasted." To make sure I wasn't overreacting, I found a friend to give one to and she responded the same way. I quickly folded up the package and stuffed it into my pocket, afraid someone else I know might see me and ask for one. I tried to make it all the way home so I could let my wife taste one, but by the time I got there, I had devoured the entire bag. Everybody has different taste in cookies. I don't like the crazy-sweet ones they sell in that big bread restaurant at all. I like semi-sweet and really soft. These tasted like (and had the consistency of) raw cookie dough, so much so that I had to double-check as to whether I was supposed to take them home and bake them! Your taste will be different, but without getting too overdramatic, as a total cookie snob who usually HATES the cookies that others will travel miles and miles for, I've got to say that these are well worth a try. Fortunately (for me, not the company), these aren't readily available at the local convenience store, otherwise I'd be downing a pack a day. The literature from the company doesn't make it very clear, but I THINK you can order these online. Also, the company's lit doesn't really stick with a recognizable theme or logo throughout, so you have to be careful to make sure you're getting the real thing. Have fun, and I hope you enjoy your Groovy Cookie as much as I enjoyed mine.
