I used Yelp to find something to eat. I saw BURGER BREAK. The pictures look really nice and made the food look delicious. Driving up to the stand alone restaurant the offered plenty of parking and outside dining which was very attractive and looks relaxing. The young lady was very polite and attentive. She really was helpful as I am a stranger to the menu. I ordered a burger with double meat and everything on it. That was my mistake it wasn't working it was entirely too much. The plain burger caught my eye but I switched from my original thought. I had onion rings and they were cooked a lot different than what I have had in the past. I also had a hotdog. It came plain but that give you condiments. They hotdog was actually good. I just become messy Marvin when I eat hotdogs. I should have gotten ice cream. Maybe next time. Love this burger joint! I used to come here after physical therapy, and before catching the bus home. Their prices for a burger and fry are great! They made my order perfect every time, the small establishment was always very clean-including the bathroom-and the women who work the register were very friendly and kind. They also had a generous outdoor seating area. I'm not in East Islip often anymore, but I enjoyed the service and food so much in the past that I make an effort to visit when I'm visiting the area! Went today for first time was starving at a local wrestling tournament and expectations were just to eat. Girl at the counter was a sweetheart. Burger was a nice surprise. Great new little quick service burger joint in East Islip. Small bar seating inside, with most of the tables being outside. Even with the umbrellas, can get hot. Servers were really friendly and helpful. Food prices are nice and low, and your meal comes up quickly. Burgers were well sized, I suggest deluxing it and ordering two singles instead of a double. I am torn on how to review Burger Break. I love that it is not a franchise chain & owned by two local families. The facility is absolutely spotless, immaculate. The burger prices are very wallet friendly...and while they are a generous quarter pound size, they are also spongy and tasteless with absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. Tastes like a school cafeteria burger. On the other hand, the hand cut fresh french fries are the best I've ever had at a burger place on Long Island- ever. I was told this place was like All-American in Massapequa. I almost missed it as it is a little further back from the road. At first glance is clean. They have burgers fries hotdogs soda Knishes and shakes. I ordered a hotdog with mustard and sauerkraut, fries and a small diet soda. My cousin got the cheeseburger and vanilla shake. Sadly the hotdog was "ok" they over toasted the bun and BARELY put any sauerkraut on in the dog (2 out of 5), cheeseburger looked so yummy. My cousin said she may get it again. Got a double cheeseburger and a chicken sandwich. Had high expectations for the burger, low expectations for chicken sandwich. Burger was good for $9 but not great. Could've been because my sauce to burger ratio was off. Not sure why they melt the cheese to the top bun and make you put on your own sauce. McDonalds puts my sauce on and it's $2. First, i am sorry to put this as a 3 star, but honesty is what is needed for any review. I ordered a double burger, fries, soda, chicken nuggets and a spicy chicken sandwich. The service was actually very good, even great, you actually feel valued here. The lady was so pleasant to speak with and she had a smile the whole time which really makes it hard to leave this review as a 3 star. The burger was bland, no taste, it literally reminded me of the HS burgers. Halfway through the burger I notice something in between the meat and tomato, and sadly it was a strand of hair. I pulled it out and continued eating, but then I caught a second strand of hair in the burger. At this point, I could not finish the burger. I was deeply saddened about it. The French fries were ok and so were the onion rings. The chicken nuggets were disappointing. They did not taste like chicken, it just tasted off and reminded me of some of the nuggets from places like Texas burger or Kennedy Fried chicken. The spicy chicken sandwich was absolutely amazing, but it wasnt really spicy, just more like buffalo-ish spicy. In all, its a nice little place, the quality of the food can be subjective. I love that its not a chain and that it is family owned and I want to see places like this strive. I am sure this was just a small hiccup and will try them again at another time and date. read more

I'm a firm believer in assigning a score based on how well a business delivers to what it is designed to, which is why I feel Burger Break is a 5/5. This is a great option for faster(er) food without breaking the bank. The menu is limited but the quality is consistent. Our family has eaten there 4-5 times since it opened a few months ago, and each time the food has been consistent. Why order a low quality meat burger, laden with fat and salt, from a fast food joint when you can have a freshly grilled burger from Burger Break? My pre-teen daughter and her friends also love the chicken nuggets, which they call better than McDonalds (and hopefully at least a little bit healthier!). Service is fantastic and everything is very clean and organized. Here's to hoping they can continue this past the honeymoon period and become a staple here in East Islip. read more

My husband was excited to try this place, but it was a complete disappointment. The burger was just ok and the French fries were horrible. What a soggy mess, all you could taste was the pile of grease they were cooked in. Had we tasted them in the car, we would have turned around and returned them. As it was, we threw most of them away. Food was great been here several times. Just the fact that I came back and asked for the regular cheese fries I always ask for. The girl taking orders behind the counter I had never seen before but she looks at me like I'm crazy with three heads. Makes me stumble and run back outside in the pouring rain just to ask my girlfriend what she wants because they do not have the one thing she asked for. I come back inside to show her again the menu from the website says add cheese on the fries section. She looks at me again with three heads, and tells me she can have them add it. As if I asked something out of the ordinary. Honestly this whole situation is so stupid and makes me laugh but I work too hard and can spend my hard earned $ else where.
