At this point, it's almost laughable! Appointments (especially with any specialists) are now booked four months or more out. I scheduled a first-time consultation with Dr. Sofia Avitia for 12/26/2025. I made this appointment back in September! Then, on Wednesday 11/26 I received a call in the afternoon informing me that the doctor would not be available on 12/26 and that I would need call to reschedule. When I called them back on Monday 12/1 after returning home Thanksgiving vacation, I was told the next available appointment was March 6th!!! Keep in mind, I'm seeking this appointment because I'm having swallowing issues. So after scheduling in September, I now cannot be seen until March, which comes out to reaching a six-month window. This is exactly why I say the scheduling situation has almost become laughable and completely unacceptable. I went ahead and grabbed the March 6 appointment just in case I cannot find another doctor sooner, but given my symptoms, I have no choice but to search for someone who can see me within a reasonable amount of time. Considering the inconvenience, I expected at least some level of priority, but instead I felt like I was treated as if I were calling to make an initial appointment all over again. What is really going on at Facey? It is now almost impossible to make any appointment at a reasonable time. I honestly believe they will soon reach a six month scheduling window, which is crazy.

I had a positive experience all around - a couple minor things/events could've been better but nothing to dissuade me from continuing to seek care here. In the first half of my prenatal care I saw Cassandra Chen - her and Claudia (medical assistant) were absolute joys to see and I always felt well taken care of. I started seeing the practice doctors after week 28, rotating through so I could meet as many as possible before delivery, since I didn't know who would be on call the day-of. I especially enjoyed seeing Dr Kazadi and Dr Tuso. My delivery day doctors ended up being ones I didn't previously meet but they were just as nice as all the others. I plan to continue my care with Facey for any obgyn needs.

If you value your time and are in search of a practice that respects that, then this review is for you. I had a very disappointing experience at the Los Angeles Orthopedic Surgery Specialists Valencia location today, and I feel compelled to share it as a warning to others. I arrived on time for a 10:30 AM follow-up appointment for my child with Dr. Yixi Lu. At check-in, I was told by Christely in the front office that the doctor was running "about 10 minutes behind," which seemed reasonable based on a prior visit where the wait was minimal. Unfortunately, that estimate was completely inaccurate. We ended up waiting over 40 minutes with zero communication from the front desk, while multiple patients were called back ahead of us. When I went up to ask for an update, I was told by a very passive-toned Christely, "Oh, yeah it's a bit of a wait right now for some reason," and then reassured that we were "next." I specifically asked if that was certain, as we couldn't wait much longer, and was told yes. Within minutes, several more patients were called back ahead of us. At that point, we had been waiting over an hour past our scheduled appointment time. When I returned to the front desk again, I spoke with Viridiana. I was met with a half-hearted apology and another vague response: "let me check our system, she might be up next." No real accountability, no explanation. And of course my child was, in fact, not "next". She was not even able to verify a timeline of when she would be able to be seen. Just to note, this appointment was scheduled three weeks ago. And we arrived -on time-. What was most surprising was being told by Viridiana while attempting to reschedule was that I should "always plan for at least a 2-3 hour wait" and to "think of the office as more of a triage." This was never communicated beforehand and did not reflect my previous experience at this office. There is also no indicator of this information available on the website. If that is truly the expectation, it should be made clear to patients in advance, not after they've already waited over an hour. The lack of communication, inaccurate wait time estimates, and overall indifference from the staff were extremely frustrating, disappointing, and highly disrespectful. I took time out of my workday to be there on time, and that respect was not reciprocated in any way. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and consideration for patients' time. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of the standard. I sent a very detailed email to Wendy Castellanos, who apparently is the Senior Director of Medical Affairs regarding my poor experience. Hopefully she will be quick to address this matter with Christely, Viridiana, and the rest of the team. Hopefully this insight on LA Ortho helps someone else who is a busy parent and prefers for their time to not be wasted and disregarded so carelessly. Beware!

No one called. Then about 5 days later we got a call from their Scheduler Rhonda. She said we had to get a blood test from our physician? Also that we had to call the anesthesiologist to find out how we were going to be charged? We called our physician and was told that he would not consent to blood work he doesn't know anything about. We called and called and left messages to the anesthesiologist. NOTHING. We called back to the office to try and reschedule. The Santa Clarita office never answers the phone. Their answering service days they are out to lunch from 12-2pm. We call back after 2pm and no one answered. We called the Tarzana office to find out what happened and to reschedule. We explained the issues and Magina at the office apologized and explained that there was a miscommunication. That they would send the blood test over to our physician's office. Which by the way wasn't received. She said Rhona, the scheduler, miscommunicated. Nevertheless we were told we would get a call from here the next morning. We never got one. So, we called the Tarzana office again. Then we were greeted by a very unprofessional staff member who was not only rude but borderline racist. She made smirky remarks and hung up the phone. Wow!. So we called back and explained. They simply say, they don't know who answered the call. Why is it so hard to reschedule? Why were we mistreated and why is it so hard to get in touch with the right person? This is so not consistent with the reviews that I read. Something is very wrong here. Someone didn't do their job and someone lied. I don't like to make bad reviews. The doctor may be good but the staff needs help. This is by far the worst experience I had with a doctor's office over trying to reschedule. We had no choice but to cancel. Even if they try to talk to the staff, those staff members would still hold a grudge. You lost a patient over a simple rescheduling matter that could have prevented a whole ball of mess.
