I didn't have quite a great experience like most of these reviews. First thing he said when he entered the room was "stay at home mom" which isn't what I had written down for my profession. I asked why he said that. He answered "because of the age of my children". Strange. His suggestion for my pain I've been having for over a year, was to change my bed (or bed topper) and not workout my lower half for 3 weeks. I wish he would have taken the time to really figure out the source of my pain. I felt dismissed. I got a second opinion. That doctor found that my left L5-S1 disc extrusion contacting the left S1 nerve root. Finally I can find some relief for my severe pain I've been experiencing. After managing to injure both my ankle and my shoulder in July 2025 (overachiever, I know), my first stop was urgent care, where I was fitted with a boot and sent on my way. Next I googled orthopedics and made a few phone calls. Thankfully, Dr. Kantor was able to get me in immediately. Dr. Kantor was thorough from day one. At my first visit, he put me in a cast and followed my ankle closely with regular visits until it fully healed. When I later mentioned that my shoulder wasn't improving, we got an MRI and he told me surgery was needed. I disagreed, mostly because I was hoping it would magically fix itself. He respected that, said "OK," and we tried physical therapy first. Six or seven weeks later of PT, he asked again if I was ready for surgery. I said yes, he had been right all along. My hesitation was never about trust; it was fear of surgery. Dr. Kantor and his staff were patient, supportive, and never pushy throughout the entire process. I'm now 11 days post-shoulder surgery and five months out from the original injury. My ankle is healed, my shoulder is doing great, and while I'm not completely out of the woods yet, I'm incredibly grateful. I had a problem with my knee and I had gone to urgent care. They recommended we should see an Orthopedic doctor. So I went on Yelp and found Dr. Kantor with 5 Star reviews. We were new to Santa Clarita and didn't want to visit our orthopedic doctor in Pasadena. So I called and I was able to make an appointment on the next day. The staff was friendly and I saw the doctor within 20 minutes. When I arrived the staff asked what was wrong and at that time I couldn't walk on my left knee and I was using a walker. The doctor came in to exam me and he told me we needed X-rays. He took me in and X-rayed my knee. He said you have to have a MRI. As he hurriedly walked out of the room. I wanted to ask him what do I do in the mean time I can't walk, I was in pain, he was in a hurry and I couldn't ask. So we called for a MRI, and we were able to get one the next day, which was the day before Thanksgiving. Therefore the results would not get there until the end of next week. I called the office to ask if they had received the MRI and they told me probably not. I insisted that they look because it had been a week. They found the MRI, and I asked if I could come in today. And they said well you don't have an appointment, and I told them your sign on the window says walking are welcome. So they made the appt. For 4PM, the doctor looked at the MRI and saw I had a menicus tear on my knee. So he said let me take another X-ray of the front of my knee. I asked why didn't you do this before. And he said because you were in so much pain you couldn't do it. We went back to the patient room and he told me I can't repair the meniscus tear. Because if I did that you would need knee replacement. Instead I can give you a cortisone shot that should help with the pain. And then each week for 5 weeks I will inject gel shots in your knee. But eventually you will need a full knee replacement. I decided to get a second opinion from my doctor in Pasadena. We made the appointment took the MRI to him and he scheduled me to take care of the Mencius tear. I did a arthroscopic meniscus repair on my knee. In two days I'll be up and walking around. My Orthopedic Doctor told me my knee did not need a replacement. All of this occurred on November 23, 2025 Therefore, I was not pleased with the advice given to me by Dr Kantor, and I do not recommend seeing him. read more

I really wanted to see this doctor for both of my knees. I am a veteran and have struggled with knee problems for years. I just started a new job and wasn't able to take time off and begged for a 4 pm appointment and even asked the receptionist to pls ask the doctor if he was able to work with me for this one appointment. Dr. Kantor performed arthroscopic surgery on my 15 year old daughter's shoulder on March 27. Just u Der three months later, she has been cleared to return to soccer and is healing beautifully! Dr. Kantor was extremely informative about my daughter's injury, the details of the surgery and post-op instructions. Three months of post-op visits were included in the cost of surgery. So, unfortunately I had to have surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon and I've been waiting out this review just to be sure it was honest and that i got to know the doctor some beforehand. So my foot was basically hanging and no longer attached to my calf muscle because of a basketball accident back in November '22, and I had my surgery mid December '22. It was extremely painful pre surgery. Let me tell you, Dr. Kantor did great! I just started physical therapy now that surgery is done and my cast is off and everyone at PT has been complimenting on what a great job Dr. Kantor did on my ankle! I'm not sure why these reviews are so positive. I visited Dr. Kantor two years ago for an ankle injury. He insisted on an in office x-ray even though I had one done a week before at Henry Mayo. After reviewing my x-ray and ankle he gave me a Cortizone injection and tried to sell me an ankle brace for $150. Thankfully, I found it on Amazon for $20. He charged my insurance $1000 for a 15 minute conversation, x-ray, and cortisone injection. I'm not sure how they justify those charges. Since then, I went to see The Foot & Ankle Institute, where they told me that I have two torn ligaments. I was very disappointed with my experience with Dr. Kantor . read more

I wanted to thank Dr. Kantor, and his staff for my knee surgery April 4th, 2023. My knee feels great! Walking and riding my peloton only 3 months after surgery, feels fantastic. I had ACL surgery using a cadaver tendon, walked after a week, very little pain. So glad I trusted Dr. Kantor with my knee! If you need a Orthopedic surgeon look no further. I was worried about finding the right surgeon to rebuild my ACL. With heavy research me and my wife found Dr. Kantor who handled ACL surgeries for high level athletes. I knew he was the right man for the job! Sure enough we were right. My new ACL is solid and I'll soon be able to get back to doing the sports and activities I love! The staff is very friendly and they work diligently to provide Dr Kantor's patients with proper care and attention. Pre op and post op. They also offer stem cell treatments! My daughter suddenly started having severe back pain and we tried acupuncture, chiropractor but to no avail. We finally decided to get Orthopedic Doctor to find out what was really the issue. Dr. Kantor and his office staff is very friendly and kind. That was a great beginning. We made an appointment and we were seen pretty early after explaining the pain level my daughter was experiencing. We visited the office and Dr, Kantor was very friendly and we had X rays right there inside the facility. Then he ordered MRI for closer look, also pretty quickly. The whole process was lot faster than I had anticipated and we found that my daughter had bulging disk. We received some medication and now we are going to Physical Therapy as directed. The pain level before visiting Dr. Kantor was around 7-8 (from 1-10 scale) but now the pain went down to either 1 or 2. I am so glad I found Dr. Kantor and his staff. Next, I am brining my wife and I will also get more treatment from Dr. Kantor as I realize there is no need to wait but get reliable and expert Doctor's diagnosis to treat the pain and discomfort. read more

I have struggled with a trigger finger for several years. In case you are wondering, a trigger finger is when your finger (or a thumb) gets locked into a closed position due to an inflamed nodule that won't release your finger. It's annoying, painful, and inconvenient because when you have it, it is always in the back of your mind when using your hands. After several tries to treat the problem conservatively, my wife found Dr. Kantor and set up an appointment for me. First impressions, his office staff are efficient, professional, and friendly. Not distant and aloof like many medical settings, but neighborly. Plus one. I was then taken in for x-rays, however, I couldn't have them taken because my finger was locked and I hadn't been able to straighten it for several days (it locked over the weekend). I was taken to Dr. Kantor, and he numbed my finger enough to manually pop it back straight, which was quite a relief after several days of having it locked closed. Plus two. Dr. Kantor gathered my history, and counseled me that another cortisone shot was not indicated for me because of the number I have had in the past, and he recommended a minor outpatient surgery at the local ambulatory surgical center. My problem was scheduling, because I needed to fly out of town in a few days. No problem, Dr. Kantor listened to me and asked his scheduler (Daisy) to schedule me as soon as possible, and that he would do my surgery over his lunch hour if necessary to accommodate me. Because of his caring and willingness to put himself out, I was able to get my surgery scheduled quite immediately, which meant I would get a permanent solution to this problem that had ailed me for years. Plus three. The surgery was uneventful and of course successful. I have since seen Dr. Kantor for two post-operative visits. Today he removed my stitches, and I was pleased to report to him the improvement in my finger, and how appreciative I am. Because I am in and out of town a lot, all my appointments have been made so as to accommodate my schedule. Plus four. Last, let me say that Dr. Kantor is an excellent orthopedist and person. He makes you feel comfortable with his cheerful and humorous manner, and at the same time, he is a great teacher. Every stop of the way, he explained clearly what my options were, what my surgery entailed, and the like. He drew my surgery out (on my good hand with a pen) like we used to draw football plays on the palms of our hands when we were kids. Bottom line, I understood exactly what was going on, and while I was nervous at times, he always went out of his way to make me feel comfortable. Plus five. I waited an hour to see the doctor for under 10 minutes. It was very brief considering it was a first consultation. I was not able to ask him any of my questions and he rushed us out of the exam room. I had 3 Xrays taken and it was awkward as I was in the room with two men with the door closed. ( One was being trained, neither talked to me at all). When I realized my pain was too great and I needed to see a back surgeon I was charged $45.00 for xeroxed copies of my xrays. Disappointing considering my insurance will pay them for those. No other doctor has ever charged me for getting copies of my MRI's or X-rays and $45.00 for poorly copied x Ray's is shocking, I doubt the surgeon could even read them. Stay away, money hungry and doctor doesn't care. read more
