Everything seems ok upon initial contact we were told there were different camp week available this summer (2026) with different focus. We found two our son was interest in. the asked for a full week cost up from and 100.00 deposit on any additional weeks listed. So we paid for a week and added a deposit on the additional week. (525.00) My son went to the first day of the camp. when he was to get pick up he was up at the parking/lot driveway waiting. He did not have a good experience and indicated he was not going back. He said the other kids at camp (only 4 others) all seemed to know each other and it was very clique-y but that some were outright insulting. Not sure if any of this was heard by one of the counselors or the instructor, He decided that he was not going to participate in the last actvity of the day and wen to sit on a bench but was handed a broom so he could clean up the barn area.... Called to let them know he wasn't happy and that he would not return. asked for a pro-rated refund which i though was fair and was told that they have a policy to not give refunds, this "polcy" is not listed anywhere in any of the paper work that was signed. Since then they have ghosted and not answered calls, texts or emails. This is a shameful way to run a business.

We were very impressed with the owners of the horse riding academy, Nicole and Nick Semales. They love horses and people so they are in the right business. You can see that they are very passionate in everything that they do. Your children are in good hands with them. I could see that my granddaughter has gained more confidence and respect for the horses with every lesson. Her horse would move only once to buck her off. New horse turn out good. So we continue on road, take a left and do a loop around and orchard but not a huge one. Back to 2 way Street cement. My horse saw the barn tried to buck me off. Unsuccessful. I swear this horse gave me the side eye. I started to get my right leg out of stirrup He bucked me off, thank fully I was able to get my foot out of stirrup. The big news is I fractured my spine. Horses were grumpy stable worker told my friend not to pet him he bites. That was my horse. It says they are great with lessons. The horses were tired obviously! What started as a Mommy and Me class has turned into my daughter riding 3x week and now being in her 2nd year of their show team. The environment is so welcoming to both kids and adults. We call them our barn family. The trainer and instructors are so skilled and wonderful will all of their lesson students. I am so glad we found this barn 5 years ago. It's been such an amazing place for my daughter to grow up.

I really felt like I had lucked out when I rode there -- other places were less welcoming, uninterested in an adult student and the arena felt like it was a high school clique again. I've switched up feed and medications and they always make sure that my horses are getting whatever is best for them. They're opening and welcoming to everyone, and the people who board here are all super nice. The barn culture is overwhelmingly friendly and everyone is always offering a helping hand. The horses are top priority, I've never even thought about moving my two anywhere else. Even as a young person, I don't think anything here is outdated or could be done in a updated manner, I spend hours at a time at the barn and I've never thought that the barn owners should change their ways - as I mentioned before the horses come first and they are all wonderfully cared for and loved. In addition there is a nice riding ring and a round pen on the property along with hours and hours worth of trails around the barn for trail riding. Some boarders complain of vet fees, though personally I've not had any sort of issues with the welfare of my animals. Maybe the reason other boarders have thousands of vet fees doesn't rest with the barn owners but their own ability to care for their horse. Also, there is no one here named Gary.

Another words they have milestones to work towards and when you qualify you move up to more advanced work. I find that very exciting, it's a great way to see how you are advancing. Other benefits are the borders and other students there so nice and helpful it's ridiculous! One of the owners Chris can be seen strolling around taking care of duties and has on more than one occasion answered my newbie questions. The other owner Larry is there too, I just haven't had the chance to bug him about anything LOL. The stable itself has been around for decades and I think some of their instructors have as well which says a lot and is probably why everyone seem so happy there. I Chrislar.

Everyone gets individual, specialized care as needed. The "School" horses are the most well cared for School horses I have ever encountered, they are far from over worked most don't work more than 1 lesson per day and they are definitely not your typical cranky lesson horses. Each School horse has their own saddle, most being top of the line dressage saddles. Whether you are looking for lessons, boarding or work I can't recommend Winthrop Farm enough!
