Shant is a miracle worker. I've been going to him for years for fitting my watches. Recently my mom gave me two watches worn by my late father. The watches were 30-40 years old. She wanted me to see if I could sell them, expecting little since they aren't collector pieces and did NOT work. I loved the retro look of the watches and wanted to see if they could be repaired ... I took them to Shant and he worked his magic, now they work PERFECTLY. I couldn't be happier ... it's an heirloom and I can now use the watch too. Had the pleasure of returning to Shant's after a few years. We also had a nice catch up chat after all that time. A watch I'd used and abused had been sitting around inoperative for a good long time. I'd taken it to a local repair shop near me and decided to spend some money getting it operational, including a new glass as the one I had was scratched up. An unusual shape, I knew it couldn't be replicated exactly but I expected it to be at least a pristine new one when fixed. It wasn't. A small corner at the frame was nicked. When told, the owner, who hadn't even noticed, he basically said it was too hard to find and fix again. So I went to Shant. And of course, it was fixed in a week's time. Moral of the story? If you want your precious watch fixed right the first time, go to Shant. Addendum: he has a thriving classic watch retail showroom on the premises too. I found my dad's old Longines that was from the '80s and I wanted to see if it would still work with a new battery. Shant instantly took care of it, changing it within seconds and was also able to provide leather band options as the original was very much destroyed. The price was great and I was really happy with how I felt leaving the store. A week later after I gave it back to my dad, he instantly got water damage in it. I dropped my automatic watch at the airport and the rotor stopped moving. Second hand was going but the minute hand wouldn't move even when turning the crown. I bought this watch grey market so it was possibly refurbished but a shoddy job was done. Dropped by Shant's, he asked me some quick questions then went to work. He observed with a magnifying glass and said he can have it fixed in a couple hours for a good price. I was expecting a much longer turnaround and higher price so I gladly agreed. Came back at the agreed upon time and my watch was good as new and set to the correct time. I asked about the damage and he said some screws came loose and there appeared to be a dent inside the case. As far as I can tell the watch is keeping time well and in fact the sweep of the second hand appears to be much smoother. He seemed very knowledgeable and charged a fair price for good work. I recently found my vintage Mickey watch that was gifted to me when I was a young child, and I wanted to bring it back to life.
