Its always busy here so it is worth reserving a table before you go. The decor is really lovely and very comfortable. The only downside is the service can be very slow probably because the staff are always rushed off their feet.I didn't remove a star for this though as the staff are always so nice and they almost always throw in a few extra side dishes and a drink on the house. It was busy for a Tuesday night. It was cosy warm inside too in contrast to a bitterly cold, dank evening outside. The welcome was friendly and the staff were thoroughly delightful and attentive throughout our stay. I opted for prawn puri with delicious puri breads. The portion of prawns was decent and the curry was only alright. 2 stars. The 5 star breads (see photos) were dainty, made from wholewheat, and not at all oily. The six served up were a first for me and probably equate to what is usually served - one piece-plate sized and usually oily bread. The menu didn't offer king prawn puri. I suppose I just should have asked. Another of our party got the lamb seekh kebab and liked it - it was a good portion. I had the muttar paneer (no artificial colour no sugar) main with peshwari nan 3 and 4 star respectively. So my sugar kick came from the peshwari nan. Both good tasting especially the cheese but the main portions were a bit smaller than I get in the places I usually frequent in Glengormley and Belfast. I also had pilau rice and disliked it very much as it didn't taste good to me. The others got fried rice with bits of vegetables in that seemed better. My rice was basmati for sure and perfectly cooked but nothing like I've had before over 40 years. It may well be popular in Lisburn but I wouldn't order it again and I just can't put my finger on why not. One of the party got korma the other a chicken tikka masala and both were over adulterated with sugar but the artificial red and yellow colours in them are a real turn off for me. Just to go off on a tangent - M&S sell a tikka masala with no artificial food colour added for £5. It serves two. They call it best ever. I add two teaspoons of brown sugar and two tablespoons of double cream to it when it's cooked and it knocks the socks of most Indian takeaways at a quarter of the price. So back to Spice: it was high end pricing for sit in so 3 star value for money. With these prices the food should be faultless, free from artificial colour and a good portion of meat to sauce. So it's a good 3 star on food/portion size against cost. With ever rising prices and inflation all round, price point will likely make the difference to survival for many places this year and quality will count. If it was just on friendly service and comfort it would be 5 star. I had hoped it would be better as it's closer to home for us but I'm afraid it's still Glengormley first (Indian Ocean) and Belfast second (Bengal Brasserie).

The menu is plentiful and contains every dish you would expect from an Indian restaurant. Usually when I eat here, I would have the Chicken Tikka Masala with pilau rice and garlic naan, and consistently every time, the food has been delicious. Spice Lisburn has a sister restaurant in Templepatrick, and while I feel that the restaurant is Lisburn does not meet the exceptional standards of their sister restaurant, they still make for a fantastic dining experience and I would highly recommend it.

This time we got the meal deal 3 at £24 but it was topped up by £2 due to my order choices (no fish just chicken based mains) but I've give. Up arguing over price hikes. I suppose I was inclined to do a review here having just recently experienced a truly dreadful Bangladeshi restaurant in Letterkenny. The latter deserves promptly closed down with the former deserving of support in this most challenging of times.

My favourite dish being the spinach and potato Sag Aloo with either onion or garlic fried rice. In fact any item on their menu, either traditional or 'chefs specialist' dish can be made as a vegetarian version. Plus their garlic and coriander naan bread is fit for a King. Indian Cottage have some great offers when you spend over a certain amount, normally over £18 or £20 - check out their menu. This is magic if you're ordering takeaway for a group of friends or family. I ordered food for 5 people last night and we acquired a free bottle of (very tasty) white wine and complimentary Papadoms with dips, salad and chutney. Would strongly recommend this takeaway as the food is so fresh and delicious. I've eaten out of here numerous times over the years and have never been disappointed. Plus they have a delivery service as well - after all dining in is the new dining out!

All our food was really tasty. The food is cooked to order so expect about a 15 minute wait from placing your order. The guy serving was friendly enough and was quite amenable to tweaking my order to suit our tastes. So it's our new go to Indian (Bangladeshi) restaurant in town. We had been going to another place in town for many years. They recently moved to Cornmarket but we just got tired of their nickel & dime attitude, we found that loyalty counted for nowt and we sure didn't enjoy our last takeaway from there a week ago and that forced us to try here.
