Ok I tried this place for the first time having recently had a few disappointing experiences with spice of India food particularly a grim butter chicken dish. Believe me M&S butter chicken is gourmet in comparison.
I also did an order on just eat and they increased the price of my order when I got there to collect. So I felt it was time to try another restaurant.
This restaurant is take away only. It has an open kitchen so I watched as my shish kebab starter was skewer cooked from fresh, with fresh coriander added and I watched nan breads being made too - they came out suitably blistered and looked really good.
I opted for lamb rogan josh and again watched it being cooked and assembled. I was asked my heat preference and opted for medium. So my curry was tasty, generous chunks of lamb and a lovely sauce consistency too.
I got a little pot of yoghurt style sauce, a perfectly cooked pilau rice and chef threw in a couple of complimentary poppadoms that he also crisped up in the tandoor.
I intend to experiment some more with other dishes and I will update my review in a few weeks - the nan breads looked particularly good so they will be on my next order.
A solid three stars for a first visit. read more
