Gas station, good chicken and potato wedges. Don't expect too much really, it's still a gas station.

I first discovered Northbound Coffee Roasters on a trip to Mt. Shasta a few years ago, and I've…read morebeen hooked ever since - ordering their beans in 5 lb bags like it's a necessity (because it is)! The Lamplighter blend is a staple, and their seasonal Winter's Solstice feels like a ritual I look forward to every year. Rich, full-bodied, and deeply satisfying. This is the kind of coffee that doesn't just wake you up, it gives you a reason to get up. Some coffees are just part of a routine. This one feels like a quiet moment you return to, day after day.

My favorite so far is the Spoonbender coffee, but they're all delicious! Another friend of mine and I decided to take a week long road trip headed north. We decided to spend the night in Mount Shasta, and that's when I realized this is where my favorite coffee comes from! The next morning we decided to visit their small shop on Berry Street, and what great people they were! Both Keith and Jen were the nicest people and very knowledgeable!! The gal running the roasting machine was also very sweet and so was the gentleman who came out to greet me! Having this experience of actually visiting there and meeting the wonderful people who roast the beans and package up my favorite coffee was so worth it!! Stop in if you can!! Just an FYI.....this is not a coffee shop. This is where they roast the beans. Thank you Northbound Coffee! You have a fan for life!!!

A Leap of Taste was one of the few spots open, and after seeing all the great reviews, we decided to give it a try. The ambiance is really cute and cozy -- lots of decor, lighting, and seating that makes it feel welcoming and comfortable. Service was also quick and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered the Green Machine smoothie and a matcha, and both were really good and definitely a highlight of our visit. Where the experience fell a bit short for us was the food. While the presentation was great, the taste didn't quite match expectations. The breakfast tacos listed potatoes, but they ended up being more like tater tots, and the tortillas weren't warm -- my friend wasn't very fond of them. I ordered the #5 sandwich, which was described as being on jalapeño toast, but it came on regular toast instead, along with a pickle on the side. The sandwich itself was okay -- not bad, but something I could easily make at home. For the two drinks and two food items, we paid around $40, which felt a bit high considering the overall food experience. I can see why this place is well-loved by locals -- it fits the neighborhood vibe and likely appeals to the regular crowd -- but as visitors, the food didn't quite live up to the hype for us. Overall, it's a cute spot with great drinks, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. I'd probably come back for beverages, but I'd skip the food next time
