This is long overdue! This review is regarding Dr Janelle Pegg AND Dr Laura Delcore: Dr Pegg was my PCP from 2014 to 2018. In 2015 she also became my husband's PCP. I just have to say SHE IS AMAZING!!!! She is the most down to earth, kind, thoughtful doctor I have ever met. She also has a great sense of humor and knows how to make her patients feel so comfortable. She is trustworthy and compassionate. She is professional and sooo intelligent. We love her so much we made her our daughter's PCP when she was born. (she is amazing with babies!). We unfortunately had to switch insurances a few months ago and we are so bummed. Nothing compares to her and the Sharp Del Mar facility. The location is perfect, the building is so pretty and clean, the front desk staff are so kind and efficient, the lab is quick and convenient, and the other staff members are always sweet and professional. Shoutout to Aurea ( Dr Pegg's nurse) for always being so awesome and caring! We seriously cannot wait to get back to Sharp and Dr Pegg! During my first pregnancy I was taken care of by Dr Laura Delcore and Mara Wendel, NP. We saw Dr Delcore more often but Mara was always so sweet, caring, knowledgeable and professional. She also spent so much time with us! Dr Delcore is one of the best doctors I've ever had. She is so sweet and down to earth, always made us feel comfortable and always took the time to answer all our questions (even though she has a busy schedule). She is also so knowledgeable on the most up to date recommendations regarding gynecology and obstetrics. I had such a comfortable and relaxed pregnancy because of her. She unfortunately wasn't the doctor that delivered our little girl but that is to be expected when you are part of a large practice. But I ended up being hospitalized for a few nights 1 week postpartum and she came to visit me and help with my care even though she really didn't need to. She goes above and beyond for her patients and treats them like family. If you are looking for an amazing OB then choose her!! We are so glad we did! read more

I love the new location, it is easy to park an access the location. My usual doctor, Dr. Chortkoff is 5 stars fabulous. Reception is normally pretty nice, but today I had a rather ugly experience with Carmen. Upon arrival she said, "Hi, I'll be with you in a minute." Three people sitting behind a desk, no one on the phone, Carmen digging through her purse and no one could help me? As I stood there, Carmen still all up in her purse, then said, "you could check-in using the kiosk." Hmmmm. How much crap is in your purse!? To cut this short, I used the kiosk, and then Rosita asked a different lady if she was me- I guess the kiosk really can't do everything-to fill out a form. Interestingly, within 2 minutes the security guard arrived and got greetings from all 3 of the receptionists. I guess next time I will wear a badge on my way in. It really is unfortunate that this was my experience, because every other person has been so lovely! read more

Went to DR ANDREA MUNOZ on a referral from a friend. I walked in and gave the girl at the front a copy of my insurance and she took a copy and I did my paperwork, everything was fine, wait time was short, got my wellness examine and walked out without anyone saying bye. As I get in my car I get a call from the doctor saying I need to pay cash and to come back. I said I gave a copy of my insurance to the girl in the front and they confirmed they had it. Fast forward to today when I check my mail... I have a bill for my wellness examine? I called to see what it was about and the billing company said it was because THERE WAS NO INSURANCE ON FILE. WHAT THE HELL. I've given it to them 3 times now and will never be going back to this disorganized office. read more

From the friendly and efficient folks at the front desk, to my primary care physician, Dr. Bennett Gross, and his kind and patient nurse, Shalimar, I feel like I lucked out that my Anthem-Blue Cross health coverage included this fine hospital in my network. From my annual physical to, to a foot injury to an allergic reaction from a bee sting, Dr. Gross and the team at Sharp Rees-Stealy have always provided an effective treatment plan and taken the time to explain the issues involved and answered all my questions without hurrying through a visit. I can truly say this is the best healthcare facility I have ever dealt with. read more

I've never been comfortable in a doctors office, until I met Dr. Rodarte. From my first visit with her I knew I'd found a doctor I trusted and felt that she was a genuine, good hearted doctor. She follows up, she speaks to you as an equal, not as someone who is better than you, but never crosses professional boundaries. I appreciate everything she has done to help me with my postpartum depression. She is so quick to respond to my questions and concerns on Follow My Health, I've not had to worry wether any of my concerns would be addressed in the 5 years I've been her patient. I've been a patient of Mr. Juan Kojima's for the past few years and I highly recommend Mr. Kojima for any dermatology needs. Mr. Kojima is extremely professional and never rushes the examination or conversation. He clearly explains any potential skin issues or concerns and always provides options with pros and cons. Mr. Kojima has an amazing way of spotting potential skin issues very early before they become problematic. I had to switch doctors because of a new insurance policy. I had been to the same doctor for 17 years and was apprehensive about switching. My first phone contacts with Dr. Pegg's office at Sharp were very impressive. People were courteous, helpful and answered emails and phone calls very quickly. I was equally impressed with Dr. Pegg. She was very friendly and took a lot of time to answer all my questions and to listen without rushing me. I thought it was going to be difficult to change doctors, but she made me feel confident that I am in good hands. read more

I'm in LOVE with this group! I recently just switched over to their OB/GYN office after having such poor experiences elsewhere. I'm pregnant with my first child and great care is really important to me. This is where you'll find it! When I walked into the office, I was greeted by all 3 women behind the desk, offered water, snacks,etc. I felt pampered! The check in process was super smooth and quick and EVERY single person I encountered in that office was extremely kind. I saw Mara and will be seeing Dr. Omidi for my next appointment. If my appointment with her goes as well as t did with Mara, I will be exceedingly pleased. She did not seem rushed at all! She sat very patiently with me and answered all of my questions. She felt more like a friend while performing my ultrasound then an intimidating doctor. She seemed genuinely excited to be monitoring and expecting the little life inside of me. I drive an hour and 15 minutes just to come here! If that doesn't speak to their excellence, I don't know what would. Can not wait to deliver my son with these gems! read more

Parking was so easy .. The third floor is for Sharp patients... There was a security guard that met me in the parking lot that had a super duper crispy uniform on...very professional. She took me where I needed to go and even commented on my new puppy!! It's people like her that make Sharp so great... Definitely the Sharp experience was exemplified .....I love this new clinic and will be sure to return...! I would like to see the waiting room offer some cold water for the patients and family ...today was very hot and I'm sure some people would have appreciated it.. Other than that 5 stars! read more

Dr. Pegg is an outstanding physician with a lovely, gentle bedside manner. She's always on time and is a great listener, who never makes you feel rushed. I have always hated going to the doctor in the past but she goes out of her way to make her patients feel at ease. I have never felt rushed or talked down to. I can't recommend her highly enough! read more

I've had good experiences in this building. It's clean and lovely to see. The staff is professional, clean cut and helpful. 5 stars to those good people. NEGATIVE 5 STARS TO Physician Assistant JUAN KOJIMA & FRONT DESK MAN. I checked in 5 minutes late and was reprimanded at least six times by the sneering man at the front desk & KOJIMA. At 8:50 AM KOJIMA told me that he had to rush so he could see his 9:00 appointment who arrived early. I waited 6 months for this appointment, Paid $70 co-pay and didn't even disrobe for a check up. In less than 30 seconds he assessed I have skin cancer but it'll cost $800 to biopsy & $1,500 to remove, upbraided me again for my tardiness and ran off to his next appointment 5 minutes early. The two men were so rude and humiliated me so much that the nurse apologized to me. Clearly KOJIMA IS SOCIALLY DELAYED & UNTALENTED WITH SUB ZERO PEOPLE SKILLS. Seek another dermatologist. read more

I was seduced by the beautiful space- this place is SHADY. Without my knowledge or consent, and with NO communication, they billed me after finding my secondary insurance (which pays them more and ends up costing me more). Disorganized, and it took a week and 4 people to get an answer- even though they admitted I was in network they refused to bill it to primary. Unethical and actually bordering on illegal. I'm there because I unfortunately have a health issue, and they just made everything sooooooo much worse that I actually called my doc to see if I could go to another lab. More time more money but I wouldn't have to deal with rude incompetence and a policy of CYA instead of client care.... The "Sharp Rees experience"? Horrible! read more

I see Dr Chortkoff in the GYN department, this was my first time meeting her and she was wonderful! She squeezed me in before my particular insurance ended, and I'm so grateful I came in. It turned out that I needed a procedure done and even though it was so painful she talked me through it. Her nurse Lori is great and definitely put me at ease. When Lori went to lunch Christine and Adrianna helped out as well. I was feeling sick and dizzy for a bit and they took care of me, gave me orange juice and made sure I was ok. Christine, Dr C and Adrianna came to check on me a few times and I couldn't believe Adrianna actually stayed with me in the room. I know she had other patients to attend to (I'm a nurse myself so I know she must have been busy)..but I'm so appreciative for her. I'm going to figure out a way I can write out a Sharp Star or something for these ladies...everyone needs to know about them, this office is amazing! Thank you for taking care of me! read more

Building is nice! All staff is **excellent! Except, Dr. Bennett Gross, a very minor practitioner. I don't think he has treated more than upper respiratory illness. I went in for a leg injury which escalated to some kind of internal pain?? Four visits later (1 with Dr. Pegg, cause gross on vacation) he absolutely had no idea or suggestions as to help me or treat me? He lied to me a couple times telling me that he knew of 2 people who had a condition I was concerned about (a condition that would require NO pain medication) , then in the office said he only knew one. Then proceeded to tell me that the condition of my concern is so rare that only 10 reported cases were reported in SD. Then told me that he treated 5 of them...What?? He said he had no idea if i did or did not have the condition of concern. Basically he has you keep coming in to collect from your insurance. If you like to just go to the doctor for no reason, go to Dr. Bennett Gross of Del Mar. He is condescending and does not listen to you. I rarely go to the doctor, and as a mom and a full time employee in the medical industry, sports nut, volunteer at my church, I don't have time to be sick, in pain, or jerked around by some "doctor". It is unfortunate that there are people like this out there , but now I know there are. He is dishonest, in no knowledge of medicine in a broad scale and that is disappointing coming from a SHARP facility. I went in just wanting help with this on set of extreme pain. I was scared, and my whole family was growing very concerned. Dr.Gross was unlike anything I have ever encountered from a doctor or a person. The lack of empathy was strange. I don't usually complain about anything but felt like this was important. **The rest of the staff is amazing. Shalimar (nurse) is down to earth and exceptional at her job. Dr. Pegg was engaging and very in tune with what I was feeling, she knew what I felt and needed before I even needed to say it. The front desk staff and Bridgette were awesome, sweet, helpful, welcoming. I guess there is always one bad apple in a bunch, and Dr. Bennett Gross is it. I still feel sick to my stomach as to the way I was treated by him. Still have some weird reaction going on, still have to miss work, find a new doctor and go from there. Super disappointed and beside myself in disbelief.... read more
