Truly want to like this clinic but this last visit was the last straw. The staff in the entry were…read morekind and helpful as was the technician. However, while I was waiting for 30 minutes to have our dog seen, I had to listen to loud talking with the staff including swearing and calling someone a "B****". Then Dr. Butler comes in (after I can hear her talking so loudly about how I chose not to get a kennel cough shot) and proceeds to be very abrasive, loud and dismissive. She cut me off about 5 times with every question I asked, was upset I didn't want to get the kennel cough shot and then acted very passive-aggressively when saying "so your dog doesn't like other dogs". That was her say I should get this shot. She continued to cut me off until I asked her to let me finish. In addition, the dentist who worked on my dog's teeth to clean them last said she could come back for a teeth cleaning without anesthesia as she was so calm and cooperative. When I brought this up to Dr. Butler, she nearly cut my head off saying that would be "bad medical practice and he has NO authority to determine this, only I CAN". SO UNPROFESSIONAL and again, seems as though they are only interested in profit, not wellness. She proceeded to tell me their dentist has no authority to make decisions or recommend treatments, in a very rough and unprofessional way. Hopefully, their new vet will be better.

Not only was she friendly and nice. She genuinely cares about your pet and the life for your pet. She asked a lot of questions to ensure she provides the best care needed. I would've never thought that I would need additional shots if my cat was an outdoor cat versus an indoor. And because she was an indoor, she did not want to add anything additional to the bill, if not needed. I even left with a little goodie bag for my kitten.

I have been a client of Holladay Vet for the lifetime of two beloved pets, despite their higher…read morecost, because I felt that their service was good and they had helped thoughtfully throughout the years. I found a dog on the side of the road and rescued him to foster him. I went in to get him checked out so that I could know about any health problems before he was adopted to his forever home, and to get him some immunizations just in case he was behind. During this appt they signed me up for a Paw Plan, stating that would be the cheapest option and not mentioning that it would be several hundred dollars when I canceled the plan at his adoption. So here we are, I have spoken to their billing department (Quentin who was rude and aggressive from the beginning) and their manager (Brittney who spoke to me with a complete lack of empathy and told me it wasn't her job to explain to me why we couldn't come to a compromise over +-$100), neither of whom has been able to explain to me why I should be paying hundreds of dollars for an adopted dog to get two immunizations when I could have gone any number of other places for immunizations that would have costed me less than the Paw Plan payments. They were rude and completely uninterested in a compromised cost, and they have absolutely lost my business forever. Don't expect for any longevity of a perfect client who has paid tens of thousands of dollars over the years, to get you any special consideration. Just a small amount of compromise would have left me feeling better about the interaction and about Holladay Vet in general. I would STRONGLY suggest that Holladay Vet invest in some customer service with their billing. The vet techs and people working at the desk clearly have some; it would be a good idea to clean up the back half so that people like myself don't feel so betrayed and taken advantage of. I would suggest going to ANY other vet clinic in town.

Yikes. The crematorium blamed Dr. Lane for this. What a bad mix up! They assured us we would receive what we ordered. We received stuff from them 1.5 months ago and they were beautiful, so I am hopeful. Edited to say in response, exactly, you charge a very premium price and do not deliver on that, it's not handled seamlessly as it once was and it costs much more, there's no invoice, and you have to call the crematorium separately and pay them? Just call a mobile vet. Check on Reddit for similar reviews, etc. Last time we called lap of love through a family recommendation it was perfect. This time, not so much. We called to see what their schedule was like etc. when we scheduled it was $860! Last time, for way better care, concern, and service it was $485. Okay okay, we did ask for paw prints etc. we did just let a pet go down the street, we didn't want to put the cat in the car, cats hate cars. So it was a weird surprise when we were told we had to contact the cremators for that and it was an additional $150. So over $ 1000 to put a cat to sleep. We really should have just drove him down the street. Last time everything was taken care of and it didn't cost anything close, including the ceramic paw prints. This is not a premium service and is charging very premium prices. But down the street, after hours at midnight on a Sunday, that was $730, +$80 for ER services, and ceramic paw prints, and they gave us nose and paw prints, and fur clippings. Group cremation for both and they both used the same crematory for ceramic prints, etc. I have recommended for years and I will no longer do so. So misleading. Find a mobile vet directly.

I recommend him highly to anyone facing those difficult transitions.

I started noticing he would growl when I touched him, which was very out of character. At first, I didn't think much of it, but as it worsened, I examined him more closely and was shocked to discover scabbed areas under both of his front legs, resembling severe rugburn. After another hike, I checked him immediately upon return and found his front legs raw and bleeding in multiple spots, with his fur matted in tight knots. I took him to urgent care, and the veterinarian confirmed the wounds were fresh trauma. My dog is 8 years old and very active, but because he's never been off leash before, I had specifically requested that he be kept leashed on hikes. The other dogs were off-leash, and I worry that while trying to keep up with the group, the handler, Caitlin, may have dragged him when he couldn't keep pace. I reached out to Mary for an explanation but received no clear response or indication of concern for my dog's condition. I asked Mary if she would cover the vet bill. Instead, she said she wanted to speak directly with my vet. When I brought that request to my vet, they informed me that she did not have a right to access my pet's medical information due to HIPAA laws. Despite everything, I was kind enough to let the situation go--but I refused to pay the bill for the hike where my dog was injured. Now Mary is charging my account anyway. A good business owner would have shown concern and at the very least offered an apology. Instead, she has shown no empathy and no accountability. This experience was incredibly distressing. I cannot recommend Merrypets based on what happened and how poorly it was handled. My dog has had no more injuries since he stopped going out with Merry Pets. He's happy again and no longer growls at me.
