However, the behavior during and after the women's game were horrible. One player appeared to be trying to pick a fight continuously during the game. I sat at midcourt as I like to see everything and I had no vested interest in the outcome. A mother of a Simpson player sat a few rows behind me and she was loud and continued to verbally accost the officials and opposing team. A Cal Maritime staff member had to go and talk with her for some time. After the staff left, the woman calmed down for a bit but she soon escalated her verbal assaults, even encouraging players to assault their opponents and the officials. I got up and moved to another part of the gym but one of the officials stopped the game and ejected her. I'm sure her daughter was proud. After the game, even though Simpson won, I saw this woman and a number of other Simpson parents yelling at the officials as they left the building under police escort. The coach never made any effort to control his players or fans. Such a poor exhibition of Christianity. If this is what Simpson condones, I highly recommend that people stay away. Also, I saw similar behavior by Simpsonites at a game against William Jessup University a few years ago.

I've called countless times over the months and have been unable to reach anyone. They drop you from classes without reason, and the admissions office staff always have horrible attitudes. I'd love to talk about my experience as a student here, but they are so disorganized and unhelpful that I'm not able to attend this college.

I took like 100 units (most for fun) there pre-transfer, met many awesome teachers, worked 5 different campus part-time jobs, was in a summer production at one point, and served as ASB president in the mid-90s. For being in Redding, which was then ---much more than now--the awful middle of nowhere for a restless teenager, Shasta College offers a lot a good, dirt-cheap ways to be productive and prepare for a better future, and have fun while doing it. If teachers made a point of putting together reader packets (like they do at 4-year institutions) instead of relying on expensive textbooks (some of which are the ones they wrote themselves...ugh), I'd grant an extra star.

A quick, online inquiry awarded me with SIX different enrollment specialists who all returned my call within 10 minutes. I was then connected with an 'Enrollment Advisor', and that's the end. The communication is horrific and as a result, I missed out on my desired start date. I considered other programs (because that is initially what drew me to NU), but ultimately always had more questions than answers after any sort of communication with them. I do not recommend this institution for anyone! If you're looking to go back to school, whether it's online or in-person, go check out Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU)!

New "If I could give zero stars I would" This place is a…read moremoney grab, it's not worth it and you're better off going to the community college, even if it means that it will take a bit longer plus the cost is way lower than this place. I went in for the LVN program for the first two semesters and it was terrible. The first semester they try to cram in biology, anatomy and physiology all one, within 8 weeks. I passed that semester with high grade but it was truly done on my own. The instructors just read off of a PowerPoint presentation for 3 hours, there really isn't much teaching. Also they like to test their students with NCLEX style questions which seems like it would be a nice way to get experience for the real thing, except they don't show you how to take these type of testing or what to expect. I believe at one point the instructor said they expect us to fail these tests the first few times, as if that's some sort of way to teach? I was hoping that after that first semester was over and once we got into the actual LVN courses it would get better but it didn't. Same thing, it's a lot of teaching yourself as you go, and using a lot of outside resources to learn. For the amount of money they charge, you would think that you would receive a better education, but it seems like the instructors are only there to babysit you while you teach yourself. I will say there was one instructor that actually taught some classes, Allan, he was the only one that seemed like he was there to help students. I unfortunately had a family emergency that caused me to miss a day and since I was not able to make the hours up I decided to drop out of the program, which in hindsight was a blessing in disguise. Now I'm going to Shasta Community College to finish my degree and I'm actually leaning more and getting the tools I need to make a great nurse once I'm out in the real world. Another thing to take into account is their attendance policy, you cannot miss any days, making up the hours is impossible if you have a job. They don't care what the reason is, the only thing they'll "excuse" is a family death, which you will have to provide a death certificate to prove it. The place I work at has lots of graduates from this place and they never have anything positive to say about it, which should have been my warning. Overall I would definitely recommend not going here, the lure of having part time evenings classes available sounds great especially for those that have to work full time but I promise you it's not worth it.

Many activities for the kids to do. They give daily reports and follow their own curriculum to foster a scholastic foundation for school in the future. Behavior is supervised and feedback is given. I love that there is plenty of space inside. The music isn't loud. We ordered an iced matcha latte, and a hot caramel macchiato. The drinks were ready right away. We sat there and enjoyed the company that was there.
