With all the Covid 19 rules we were not sure what to expect but had a wonderful birthday celebration for my nephew here.

Country Bowl isn't just a bowling alley--it's a living piece of Americana that deserves to be…read morecherished, embraced, and visited often. This place has everything you could want: retro arcade games like Mortal Kombat II, air hockey, a pool table, that classic bar-style shuffleboard game, and of course--bowling. But the real magic? It's in the kitchen. A young man named Chris, who's as friendly as he is talented, makes three handcrafted barbecue sauces and a killer chili garlic sauce--each one flavorful, unique, and unforgettable. Pair them with one of the best hamburgers, pastrami sandwiches, or pulled pork plates you'll ever have, and you'll see why this place is a favorite among locals. I noticed something special here: when the service industry pros from Redding's top-rated bars and restaurants are off the clock, they choose to come here. That says everything. These folks know good food, and they keep coming back--not just for the fun and nostalgia, but for Chris's cooking and the genuinely great vibes. So do yourself a favor: bring the family, bring your dog, bring grandpa and grandma, bring your cat if you want--just don't bring a homeless person. (They've got rules, like anywhere else.) Come enjoy a slice of classic America right here in Redding, talk to Chris behind the bar, and taste the sauces that everyone's raving about. You'll be back. Trust me.

This review is from a little while ago but it's a story I share with everyone who asks me what to…read moredo in Burney or how the bowling alley is. I figured it may as well share my experience now since I am reminded of it every time I drive by this place. My girlfriends and I were harassed by a league bowler while eating, we tried to be polite until he started commenting on our body's. We tried to (again politely) tell him we were trying to eat and didn't want to chat at which point he stayed "I knew y'all were gonna be a bunch of bitches" before finally leaving us alone. After we finished eating we went into the bar for a drink and to avoid another situation from the same man and were met with a new one. We chatted briefly with 2 guys, one then offered to buy us a shot. The guys friends started interrogating us making sure his friend wasn't "getting taken advantage of". We then said 'ya know what, no problem, no thanks' and continued to be harassed and argued with by them same guy while waiting for the drinks we already ordered. The bartender who was serving us was watching and saw what was happening and when she served us our drink instead of helping said "just so you guys know, these are really good guys". We left. I haven't been back and won't come back without my husband or a male friend to avoid unwanted attention from the regulars. Honestly I still probably won't come back. I'm on a lot of Burney pages and everyone is always talking about how to save the town and how to make the town thrive... maybe make it welcoming and safe for the people who want to participate in community and spend there money there. I know the business is responsible for the behavior of the people who patronize their place but when even the bartender won't have our backs women to women there's a huge problem. It makes me so sad this is the only place in town you can really go and hang out or socialize. Hopefully something new and more welcoming will come along. 2 stars only for the cook, he was the genuinely nicest person we encountered and made good food.
